Aerith's Great Gospel

Me. Its quite useful against the bosses in the Temple of the Ancients, especially that Demon Wall

I'm thinkin about gettin it sometime. Demon Wall was annoying. Although once I fought him at Level 50 or 60 and killed him with ease. He still was a little annoying though.

i never do i like aerith but theirs always that part of me that doesnt care since see dies

Um, no. You can get Great Gospel before Aerith dies, and it doesn't require a Chocobo :monster:

I try to get Great Gospel everytime I play, since I like to be a completionist with limit breaks, and I use Aerith throughout disk one anyway so...

Yes, you can get Great Gospel on 1st disc. Trust me, I have the mini-guide about how to get it in an old issue of Tips & Tricks magazine. Just requires a great deal of work though. It's one of the most useful limits.

I got Great Gospel during my second playthrough. I missed out the first time since I was just sorta going with the flow of the game. Aeris was dead long before I would've been able to acquire it.

Great limit break. I use Aeris as much as I can while she's available.

Great Gospel is amazing. If Aeris lived until the end of the game, she would've been a VERY useful character.

Had Aerith lived to the end of the game, I doubt her limit break would be that powerful anyway, as it would take away all the fun of the game. Ruby and Emerald weapons would be boring, and Sephiroths Super Nova would just be countered with Great Gospel...how boring.

Useful =/= Fun-Filled

Also, I think you're overestimating how powerful the attack would actually be. Had she been alive to fight Ruby weapon, she would be pretty useless considering if you have more than one party member alive, Ruby will whirlpool. And even if you got Great Gospel off (which you would have to proc immediately off a fresh limit gauge) that wouldn't stop a character from being whirlpooled because they're not taking damage.

It's not like you can proc that limit every time you want to. Everything would probably be easier, yes, but since I'm a more offensive minded player, she most likely wouldn't have been in my party to begin with and would serve as a protector for my second party in the fight with Sephiroth's first form.

In any case, that's all hypothetical and if I got to replay the game with Aeris surviving the entire game, I wouldn't be too sad about it.

Yeah I think using G.G woulda killed the game all the way through. I probably wouldnt have used her still anyway. I like to slice em up with Omnislash or blast away with Barret's Catastrophe.

I never got it tbh, I didn't know you could get it so early until quite recently although I don't think id have the patience to build all Aeriths limits up so early on in the game. Im FAR too impatient......

I might give it a crack one dday, but i just know Il get bored and give up :wacky:

You can choose which character you want to use to fight Ruby weapon by simply killing off the other two in your party. That's how I always use Cid or Yuffie when I fight Ruby weapon.

Just have Aeris equipped with princess guard, have the other two characters dead, and make sure she is near ready to use her limit break and you have a pretty easy fight.

Got it because I'm a completionist freak like that.

Aeris is quite useful indeed, but like frostybanana said, I'm more offensive. Great Gospel is nice, but for the trouble you have to go through in Disc One to get it and then just to have it snatched away is frustrating, if you ask me.

I'll take Omnislash and Highwind and all that jazz over GG any day.

Though that's just me :)

I've never actually had the Great Gospel as i never really used her =/ but If i knew how to get it i would go back and check it out and see how useful it really is

i knew that. but you're not really thinking clearly because that strategy is overly simplistic and wouldn't work. first of all, even when your character is the strongest he can be, Ruby is STILL a tough fight. GG doesn't last forever and heals your party ONCE. secondly, once you revive both your party members, do you think he doesn't whirlsand or something? he will whirlsand your party members. and if he whirlsands your offensive characters, that fight is over.

that's why ruby is fought with one character. smart people who don't have KOTR yet use Cloud because of his limit break.

Its great and all but I dont think its worth the trouble to get it. I mean I got Omnislash on the first disc ONCE and that was a freakin pain. Got up to level 65 after a week straight of training and when I went to trade in 32,000 BP, you need 64,000 on first disc!

Besides it takes quite a bit of time to get your 2nd limit break of a limit break level. I know I cant get it knowing that Aerith dies anyway.

That's a lie actually. Aerith wouldn't be as weak against Ruby as you seem to assume she would. Somebody used the cheat code to keep her alive so she/he can play her throughout the rest of the game, even though she's dead. Anyway, watch this if you don't believe that Aerith wouldn't be weak. This is Aerith meleeing the fuck out of Ruby Weapon. I think you're underestimating her.

Me through nearly every play through of FInal Fantasy VII apart from my first time.

The last time I played FF7 as far as actually getting out of midgar, was about... 10 years ago, and back then it took me ages to get everybody's limits because I wasn't sure how they leveled up. I don't think I got past Aeris' level 2's before she died. :/
