AFI

Least you've got an excuse for not being to their concerts -__- I just didnt go to one cuz i thought it'd be infested with emos... *sighs*

-Revives topic-

Okay, I've been listening to some AFI songs now that I can't get enough of Blaqk Audio.

I must say that This Time Imperfect is a very sad song. There was a lot of emotion from what I heard.

37mm, Love Like Winter, Silver and Cold, Carcinogen, Girl's Not Grey, and Miss Murder are a few of my favorites.

I didn't think AFI would be my type of music, but there ya' go, I love the band now. =)

This Time Imperfect = most emo song evar...but it's such win.

...But Home is nowhere is also quite win. And you should look into AFI's older albums, especially The Art of Drowning and Black Sails in the Sunset.

AoD is like their Sing the Sorrow sound blended with a bit of punk, and Black Sails is a slight progression out of their punk days.

AFI Fans Check Here!

I already know I'm not going to get a high post count on this thread in fact I will be impressed if I exceed past 5 excluding mine. Im a huge AFI fan and i'm very interested to know if there are any other AFI fans here on FFF.

AFI has released 7 Studio Albums with the 8th coming up. After 1 or 2 albums their sound changes and basically in this thread I want to know which AFI Era is your favourite and of course why. I also would like to know what your favourite song is.

Sounds easy enough

The Eras are...
Straight Punk (Answer That and Stay Fashionable, Very Proud of Ya)
Punk-Core (Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes)
Post-Punk/Alternative (Black Sails In The Sunset, The Art Of Drowning)
Alternative/New Wave (Sing The Sorrow, DecemberUnderground)

My favourite Era is the Post-Punk Era because although I really like the Punk-Core era and i listen to it alot especially when im particularly rallied up over something. It's just that I find myself listening to songs from the post-punk era much more. Maybe it's the addition of Jade Pudget.

Favourite song would definately be "The Despair Factor" off of the "The Art of Drowning" mainly because it's catchy, and the lyrics are some of the deepest and best AFI has ever conjured. Give it a listen if you haven't especially if you share Era Tastes..

I used to be in love with these guys back when I was younger.

I have all of their albums (to my knowledge) and I could never get enough of them. I was so happy the day December Underground came out!

My favourite songs would have to be:

Total Immortal (All Hallows Album) - Loved this song when I first heard it, but it's a bit harsh on my ears these days. >.<

Morningstar (Art of Drowning Album) - This song is so freakin' nice! He actually sings a lot slower and has a nice voice when he isn't screaming. The lyrics are sad too. =(

God Called In Sick Today (Black Sails in the Sunset Album) - Another one that I still love. Great title for the song, and the lyrics are awesome! He sings better in this one too.

Miss Murder (December Underground Album) -
Just a bit different to their other stuff. Nice and beaty. Not so depressing.

Love Like Winter (December Underground Album) -
Same as above. This album is different to their previous and I like it a lot more.
