Is it possible to deactivate the Angelo Limit, or at least change it so the dog won't come and kill the enemies? I am playing a low level game...
 
Just don't learn any of the newer limits.....I can't remember if the one or two that the dog already knows are the randomly appearing ones but I didnt think they did enough damage to kill anyway

And no, Im pretty sure you can't deactivate it
 
If I'm not mistaken it's the Pet Pals magazines that allows you to learn Angelo's limits. Just don't buy and read those magazines. I don't think you actually CAN deactivate Angelo's limit...I think regardless that first one will always be there.
 
HEY ANGELO IS A GREAT DOG HE ONCE FOUND A MOON CURTIAN IN THE MIDDLE OF RANDOM FIGHT NOW BY THIS TIME I HAD A SET UP SO ADVANCED THAT MY GUYS WERE UNTOUCHABLE BY STATUS AND DEFENSIVLY VERY SOUND BUT THE WISHING STAR LIMIT WAS ONE OF MY FAVOURITES ON IT WAS ACTIVATED

Personally, I can only say that if Angelo choose's to appear, then there is no way to prevent it. Much like Gilgamesh or Odin. However, if Angelo is killing your enemies...that's pretty strange, because he's not exactly powerful, unless your Rinoa is, basically "Uber".

The only one you worry about, is 'Angelo Rush' killing them. The others, don't attack at random, and of the Limit attacks Angelo uses, only two happen at random, the other of which is the one that allows him to find items. Even then, they only happen at random on extremely rare occassions. Unless Rinoa's luck is really high, obviously.

Don't sacrifice not learning the abilities...some like Invincible Moon are really helpful.
 
okay good news is, you CAN manually stop angelo appearing, it is always a good idea to let him learn his limits but NOT angelo rush

angelo recover is important and real useful in all no level and no junction games

angelo is a highly versatile limit. during disk 2 on my no junction file i found myself against that robot thing after escaping the prison. both zell and selphie ended up dead within seconds however with angelo reverse rinoah won it on her own.

now on to stopping it

internally, without you knowing the attack is given a 'target number' when this number is reached the attack, or another event say gilgamesh or angelo search (which have seperate numbers) will occur.

a timer ticks over counting up to this number. every 13.33 seconds another point is put on the way up to the target number.

however this timer only counts during what is called 'dead time'

dead time is time in the battle scene where nothing is happening. so when your attack bar is charging, and when you or the enemy is standing still (not attacking or using magic)

heres where it gets realy complicated;

each time 13.33 seconds are achieved thegame performs a 'check' if the counter is correct with the number neaded the action will occur

there are 9 rows of possibilities for the attack to occur. one of these is taken at random for the first time in the fight then another is picked out at random. some of the longer times have a higher chance of occuring.

however you can manually move the counter on one space by pressing circle. if you were to want an event to occur and you know which row it is on then by pressing circle up to one or 2 less than the counter needs and then waiting, you can activate it quickly.

this is the same for not activating it. take it to one more than the needed value and then letting the failed check reset and repeating this.

however you do not know the row so your safest bet is to press circle 20 times at the start. this eliminates the shorter rows and leaves a gap to the longer events.

once a timed 13 seconds has passed it is smart to press circle another 20 times which eliminates the smaller rows, and row 6 with 41 checks. you now only have row 86, however repeating the 20 presses is a good idea.

REMEMBER!!

you can only progress the timer forward if you have someone with a full bar

it is a good idea to have someone attack or use a move (ie the card ability as you arent leveling up) so this stops the timer allowing you to safely press circle

once you have diablos' *encounter none* ability this will be easier as random battles never occur

the card ability doesent give you experience, but does give you AP

petrification has the same effect as running away, if you didnt hit the enemy first then no exp is gained (good against the soldiers)

You could just not use Rinoa. Since there are no parts in the game where you have to use Rinoa and gain exp. Like on Ragnarok, you get no exp for killing the propagators. Just use other characters instead.

thing is rinoa has the highest base attack, and is real good with her magic. her limit is amazing and shes highly versatile.

Apart from healing magic that is.. but you could also use items for that.

ah thats where your wrong my friend, as it is impossible to get 255 atk, however rinoa can get the closest to the maximum. and using items costs ALOT

now then a tip for your magic stock is that biggs and wedge have alot of useful magic on the 2nd disk.

@cloud, did you read my first post??

@tbg, if i were to tell you id have to KILL you :P theres a FAQ on angelo search, and i used the theory for that and experimented with it. it turns out all timers in game (apart from the obvious ones) are at 13.33 seconds.
