Okay, I havent gone mad. Im not having a go at leveling up, which is one of the basic elements in RPGs. But what does frustrate me is when you start at a certain level with your lead character and encounter other people who eventually join your party.

Now it bugs me that sometimes you get some characters whose levels are so low in compaison (sp) to your own. You probably are thinking "Stop moaning!" but come on, surely it can be frustrating for others? You and the 2 other party members are levels 9 and 10, then you encounter someone who happens to be level 5! Argh! Ive just spent ages leveling these guys up to my level and now again with you! *screams*

Dont get me wrong, not all RPGs do this, its just the few that do and make it so frustrating as Im one of those people who would like my party at roughly the same level.

It annoys me in FFIV, where I do lots of powerlevels before every boss fight, just to get new characters at a comparatively low level... I like keeping my characters rather balanced.

It does annoy me abit, Il just be like ughhh, especially in like VI & IX when I spend time on my guys (looks at locke) level them up and then you lose half your party members so by the time yopu get certain guys back they are underlevelled :gasp:

Yeeesss i hate this! FFIX is a prime suspect! By the time you're finished with Disc 2 and start Disc 3, Zidane, Vivi, Garnet and Eiko (or Amarant) will be at Lv25 or so while Steiner and the others are at Lv13 or something. Its gonna take forever to level all of these characters up! :gasp:

I like to keep all my characters levels balanced. That's why I used EVERY character in FFXII, so when my most usuable characters falled in battle the back-ups would be able to hold their own.

It doesn't really bother me much when characters are at a lower level upon entering the party. They'll make up the ground with time...provided you use them. That's where leveling sort of gets on my nerves.

I hate having to include crappy party members in battle in order to level 'em up. Tales games, for instance, distribute experience to each party member regardless of whether or not they participate. I like being able to use the characters I like without worrying that the others are falling behind. Some games distribute a small percentage of experience to inactive party members, but the result is the same. They still fall behind--just not as fast.

Generally I find that If I just continue playing normally, the characters will eventually catch up. Most of the time when a character rejoins the party, the enemies seem weaker anyway so it doesn't really matter, when this happens I just think "I was able to ease through here with three characters......and now I have four :wacky:".

I got annoyed with that aspect in FFX, when you get Riku who is significantly weaker than any of the other characters when you get her just after crossing the moonflow.
So I decided to just not use her at all.

For the most part, I really don't mind. I'm strange in the fact that I love to waste my time, doing repetitive things such as leveling or farming for gil. It's almost like my own small form of OCD.

I actualy kind of like it :P I love having my favourite character like 10 levels higher than my others. It's more immersive :P if cloud was the same level as say yuffie wouldnt that mean that there were comparatively the same strength? BULL!!

Hmm...I don't really hate it...I mean, it's fun to level up your characters. Especially in FFT...good example is my Ramza, who is 20 levels higher than majority of my characters! I mean, I can level up everyone just by hitting Ramza with throw stone!

Annoyance,ha! I enjoy leveling!:) I'm also fond of getting characters that are lower level then my own. My reason-I like comparing stats and its interesting to be able to compare a lower level guy to my own character, seeing just how much better my character is. Besides it would quite boring to get a bunch of high level characters if you don't like leveling then you always play and an action game:neomon:.
Although I do hate characters that have Level Advantage(meaning their stats are only good because of their overleveledness, not because their useful)

I like it when characters are lower levels or weaker cause then it gives me more reason to continue playing and then once i get them all to the same level i can then progress to further stages of the game with an evenly leveled party.

I don't mind leveling up characters in games. To me, it keeps me busy when I have nothing else better to do. Besides, it helps my characters become stronger and quicker in battle. The only annoyance I get out of it is when I look in the guide books and see the characters at a much more higher level then I am at. It makes me wonder if I am not leveling up as much as I am suppose to be for that level even though I have no problem moving on.

im very fond of levelling up, in any game..
it just makes it alot more fun, and when you get to a high level it looks cool when you cast spells/attack etc cuz of the amount of damage you do lol..
=)

It's rather annoying sometimes.... Usually, I really like leveling up, especially when you can unlock new moves/abilities/evolutions. But I'm REALLY OCD about it. I want everyone the SAME level, unless it's my leading fighter. Then he/she is usually about 10 levels above the rest.

I'm kinda hating leveling up in Digimon 3 right now, 'cause my Patamon kept getting knocked out. >_< And the other two progressed while it kept getting hit... and knocked out, therefore no EXP.

Yes Yes and Yes, annoys the ever living crap out of me. For one I am used to the old RPGS, so I know they work - turn based, attack magic defend escape.. that's all you get.

So then you lvl the crap out of your normal character, and well you gain 2 or 3 other characters along the way who are totally gimped. Well you have to take more time than what is needed to get them up to par and if you throw in games with abilities that if you don't actually play them then their abilities will stay the same.

For instance Limit Breakers/overdrives if you don't use them in some FF's then you can't get the new ones for your other characters. Hince why I don't usually play the new characters I pick up if say I'm 25 lvls above them.

A few examples of this are.. Shining Force (Genesis) Xenogears (The reason I never played the newer characters) and FFIX as ya'll said. Really no point past it.

I don't wanna even mention the pain as far as Chrono Cross was.
