Hi.
I am playing FF7:CC for first time (I did play FF7 few times in the past). What I noticed, it is hard :/ (missions). In story I am after building flower wagons, I am lvl 35 (hp about 8500), have about 50% completed missions, and now almost all of them are "very hard" and it is really anoying, because I feel so weak playing them. I think i am lack of self determination to beat Minevra on this playthrough (I'll try on new game+). When I played FF7 for first I killed all major bosses, and now, I dunno whether this game is harder or whether I am getting older ...

Anyway I would like to ask you how to prevent sudden death attacks, because they are most irritating right now to me. Is there any accessory that is not too hard to get and could immume me to it ?

Any other advices how to make the game easier ^^ (what materias would you advice)?

Hope I wrote in rgiht place.

I know there's an accessory to protect against Death, I think I have it as well, but my PSP is dead so I can't be sure... I think it's called the Safety Bit.

There's also some potion you can get to give you the Raise status that you get from Phoenix Downs, something about a person outside the Shinra Building... I don't know, I didn't get it, but I've heard about it... :P

As for materia, I think I've got Hell Firaga, Dark Thundaga, Quake, HP +100%, Curaga, and Mug.

In case you don't know, Hell Firaga and Dark Thundaga are like Firaga and Thundaga, but with a chance to add status ailments as well.

Phoenix downs are your friends too <33

here's what I did

I played the game first without a guide to get the full effect. Afterwards though I played the new game + with one to get all the goodies I missed. So that might help cause you will start over leveled. Also your at a good place to do all the missions. The person at the exit of the shinra building will let you try a free potion which gives you re raise status. Do this as much as you need. If some one does hit you with a instant death attack you get up fine.

Doing missions its good to know what boxes are what (consult a guide) that way you don't go out of the way for a potion when you have 99 of them. Also hug the walls as much as possible. This will let you avoid many battles.

Safety Bit prevents instant death. I believe that it can be found in a chest during missions 10-1-3 and 6-4-4 (I am not COMPLETELY sure though ...).

Missions tend to make you stronger. I noticed this as I played because you wouldn't really level up like how you would in FFVII. I'd always use them to level up and gain experience in between and during those really hard missions I most likely ended up dying over and over again.

As for stopping sudden deaths...that's a toughie. I was lucky enough that during those times Phoenix Down was always cast on me...

I believe that a certain DMV effect casts Phoenix down or auto revive on you. Its very random, though, so your best bet would be to have on an accessory that prevents instant death.

If you have access to Mission 6-4-4, there is a treasure chest in that mission containing the Nibel Accessories shop, and you can buy a Safety bit there.

Alternatively, although I think a bit more possible at a lower level.
If you have access to Mission 3-1-3, you can find a Cactuar in that Mission, and if you beat it you unlock Mission 10-1-1. Complete 10-1-1 and 10-1-2 and in 10-1-3 you can find a Safety bit in a chest.

I dont think this game is hard enough. I went a whole playthrough without getting killed. I suggest you either train like mad or have a good attempt. Just becouse it says very hard doesn't mean it is!

The Phoenix and Chocobo gives you "Raise" so if you die you come back to life, but there's also an item you get when you do missions. It's called Safety Bit and it works really well because that's what I have equipped on Zack right now.

Yes there is a item called the Safety Bit which prevents against death magic.
Also there is a person in front of the exit of the Shrina Building which can give you a reraise status. Later on you can steal Phoenix Downs from certain enemys with a Mogs Amulet accessory (I think thats what it is). Finally you can get something on the DMW called Phoenix which can give a reraise status. Someone also said that you can get the reraise status from the Chocobo DMW but I'm not sure about this one.

If the missions are too hard, you can always go through the "seven wonders in nibelheim" quest, and after you get the phoenix materia (and possibly the painting thing) done, you can destroy bombs, return, and be rewarded a safety bit.

It's the easiest way to get one, but you have to leave the shinra building for the last time to get it, which means no more phoenix downs.

when you eventually become a walking tank (after completing the game multiple times), you can get the genji shield which ups your DEF and SPR, prevents status ailments, keeps up barrier and mbarrier, and prevents death.
