Hey Guys, just finished XIII, and I can honestly say that it is the only Video game that has ever made me shed a tear, I don't know what it was it's just so emotional, Anyway I was just wondering if anyone else has ever shed a tear over a video game not necessarily FF.

The only ones that made me cry ̶l̶i̶k̶e̶ ̶a̶ ̶s̶l̶a̶v̶i̶c̶ ̶w̶h̶o̶r̶e̶ were Final Fantasy titles...

Hmmm, Yeah XIII Seemed like a movie towards the end, I honestly think it would make a great film. Anyway that's off topic a little. I think a lot of people cried when Dom died on Gears of War 3 :/ which is understandable.

I seriously think that's the hardest I've ever cried in a video game. I was like... sobbing. xD They did that scene brilliantly. I usually tear up at one point or another in Final Fantasy games, but no other series has ever been able to consistently do it for me.

Came VERY close to shedding a tear at the end of crisis core. It was probably because I've never seen a character like Zack before. He was so... real. I've never seen a male ff character cry over someone before.

Maybe you've not played it, but in FFVIII, Squall cries at the ending.

I think the only reason I shed a tear was because of Dajh and how happy Sazh is to finally see his son again, I mean he'd been waiting the entire game to see his son again. And the way Square enix set out the last 10 minutes or so was staggering. I mean it must have been one of the best cutscenes in gaming history :D

I don't think I'd really call that crying. To me it was more of a despair moment where he was just all alone with no way out. I don't know, the ending to VIII was pretty jacked up imo.

FFXIII did have some issues but the ending is what made it a pretty good game. In my opinion both FF7, FF6, FF8, FF10 were all disapointing endings in their own way. FF6 because you don't get to see Kefka die when basically the reason I was playing it was to see him die. FF7 was a boring ending. FF8 I guess I just didn't like the game so the ending wasn't all that good and it didn't make sense either. FF10 Tidus dies not that I like Tidus all that much but I felt bad for Yuna. FF9 was the only ending I loved I was like hell yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FF13 I felt really happy for Sahz and fairly happy that the other girl came back for snow and Lightning.

I shed tears in a few games, FFX, Crisis core and FFXIII-2, it tends to make me worse when something happening while I play, for example
when zack is losing his memory in crisis core

another would be in tales of vesperia when

your fighting estelle to free her, with the lines from yuel and the emotion rita showing, and the music just finishes you off

I've come close in more than one game, but Final Fantasy X was the only game to ever have made me shed a (manly) tear. And then I felt like crying for the next two weeks until I got FFX-2 just so that Yuna and Tidus would end up back together. I honestly didn't care about one other thing in the game but that :P

Technically, it is. To cry is to shed a secretion which we call tear/tears and it usually happens when:

1. our eyes are too dry
2. there are strange bodies on it
3. we feel strong emotions

As long as I know, despair and is an emotion, therefore classifying the said incident definitely as a cry, even if of one tear only. It was just not the type of cry he was referring to, but still, I wasn't supposed to know that beforehand .

I think FF games are the only games to make me cry. :hmmm: FFX and FFXIII both made me shed a few tears; X was the worst because it felt like the end of long journey for me personally. :lew:

In Final Fantasy X, I started to feel upset when
Yuna had to sacrifice her aeons! She was connected to those spirits! They had protected her on her journey, saved her and worked as a team with her. She looked so upset when she summoned them so that Yu Yevon could possess them and they could weaken him. :/

I knew Tidus was going to disappear - I had seen the video many times before - but nothing could prepare me for my Yuna losing my Tidus. When I completed the game, everything felt more personal and more significant. It was my story too. :lew:

In Final Fantasy XIII, I cried towards the end when
Lightning and co were transformed into crystal, leaving Vanille and Fang behind. My memory of this part of the game is a little hazy, but I remember feeling both were incredibly courageous. Both felt pain and guilt and they wanted to rescue their friends, who they believed were lost for good because of their mistakes.

FFXIII-2 was also incredibly upsetting, but I don't think I teared up during the game. :hmmm: The ending scene just didn't have the right music at all. :lew: What I found most upsetting in XIII-2 was
the fact Caius had seen Yeul experience so much pain and wanted to save her. His love for her was beautiful. However, I don't think we were given enough time to truly empathise with him. My empathy came as I thought about his experiences and put myself in his shoes. :lew:

Other games have made me feel a little unhappy, like Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, but none have affected me as much as those two. :lew: I haven't yet completed FFIX, which I believe may add to the list.

I can't really say that most games made me cry. Like, actually, tears falling my face kind of cry. There have been some that just made me feel sooooo bad for the main character and those who were affected from said character's role in the situation, but only a few, as I said, make me go ":sad2:".

The Ending of FFX
The Bad ending of Mass Effect 2
Both Endings to GTA4
The ending to Kingdom Hearts I

As said, only a few really gave the satisfaction of crying like a baby, and these are about 85% of the games that have successfully done that. Congratulations video game industry. :monocle:

I shed tears over 7
after Aerith was killed
It sunk in that I wouldn't be able to use that character anymore

Yes, Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, and Final Fantasy IX. The endings to all those games got me. I'm not ashamed to admit that. Luckily Kingdom Hearts will have sequels, while once you finish FFIX that's the end, and that sucks to me.
