Anyone play guitar?

I've been playing for 7 years, self-taught.

Favorite guitars - ESP.

Favorite guitarists - I don't have any.

Favorite types of music to play - Funeral Doom Metal, Death/Doom, Black Metal (plenty of its variants), Brutal Death Metal, Post-Rock, Drone, Noise, etc. I will play anything pretty much, as I don't like to restrict what I can and cannot do with my instrument. My personal style though ranges, but I have a huge affinity for ambience and soundscapes and dissonance rather than solid riffing.

Favorite songs to play - My own lol.

Favorite bands/influences to me - Just throwing this in here so you can better understand; diSEMBOWELMENT, Inquisition, (V.E.G.A.), Grand Belial's Key, Wolves In The Throne Room, Mgla, Boris, Weakling, Benighted In Sodom, Sunn O))), Drudkh, Gorgasm, Blut Aus Nord, Corrupted, Bohren Und Der Club Of Gore, Artificium Sanguis, Burzum, Deathspell Omega, Wormphlegm, Om, Portal, Agalloch, Satanic Warmaster, Lurker Of Chalice, Taake, Last Days Of Humanity, Khanate, Judas Iscariot, Leviathan, Sargeist, Immolation, Windir, Xasthur, Arghsolent

I've been taking lessons for about a year and a half.

Favourite guitar: honestly I haven't played that many guitars so I don't have an extensive list of guitars I like and dislike. My favourite guitar that I have played has been my mates Epiphone Casino; great tone and comfortable to play. I have also grown a liking for P-90 pickups in general.

Favourite guitarist: Tom Morello; his innovative playing style is one thing, but I also really like his simple but hard hitting riffs eg; those found in 'Killing in the Name', 'Cochise' etc..

Kaki King, is just plain amazing really. While a lot of her singer/songwriter stuff is average, her instrumental work is unbelievable. 'Playing with Pink Noise' is an insane song.

Pete Townshend, although he isn't an exceptionally technical guitarist, his rhythm work and songwriting skills demand recognition. He was pretty much the brain behind the Who, enough said.

There are plenty more who I admire. Though I must say that I'm not a huge fan of shredders, although there are a few who stand out (Satriani, Vai etc). Michael Angelo Batio for example is probably the most technically gifted guitarist I can think of, however I'm not that big a fan of his music. Still his sheer skill and speed demands respect.

Favourite Types of Music to Play: This constantly shifts for me, but some of my favourites at the moment would be Blues, Hard Rock, Alternative Rock, Punk and Prog Rock.

Favourite Songs to Play: I don't play songs from start to finish very often. But I do enjoy playing random riffs from Rage Against The Machine, Jimi Hendrix and the Who among others when I'm bored.

Favorite Guitar: I like Jackson guitars (they're all I own) But I also like Ibanez, MusicMan and many other brands.
Currently I am most impressed with Guerrilla guitars.

Favorite guitarist: Michael Romeo, John Petrucci, Frank Gambale, Marty Friedman, Robert Marcello qnd many others.

Favorite music to play: Rock and metal mostly. http://www.myspace.com/bnredwan
Here's a little taste of what I can do, I used a cheap software it's just one minute of ideas.

Favorite song to play: Currently Old School by Robert marcello and Concerto for two violins by Bach

Overrated bands: A shitload my friend xD

Favorite Guitar: A Gibson SG or Explorer! I like the SG for some grunge and stuff and the Explorer for some heart pounding metal or prog rock.
Favorite Guitarists: Herman Li (dragonforce) because of his stage presence and wicked shreds and Justin Shekoski (saosin) because of his guitar spins. Good ol' Hendrix is also AWESOME!
Favorite genre: Progressive rock, alternative metal/rock and heavy metal
Favorite Bands: I got lots. Coheed and Cambria, Circa Survive Guns N' Roses, Dream Theater and Radiohead to name a few

Favorite guitars - I'm a big fan of Ibanez (my starter guitar), ESPs, and Jackson. I own a Jackson DK2M right now and it's decent. I prefer my guitars with thinner necks. Les Pauls are nice for the sound quality, but I don't like the fat necks they've got on 'em. My friend has a really nice Strat, and I've always wanted a Telecaster. There's something about the body that I enjoy. Dream Guitar: Gibson Explorer. White.

Favorite guitarists - Clapton for sure. Other than that, I don't really have any favorites. I think most guitarists have something different to offer, whether it's their ability to keep outstanding rhythm, or they're crazy lead players... so I don't like to play favorites in that aspect.

Favorite types of music to play - Anything. The first few bands I was in were some metalcore/rock bands, when I came to college I played a little country with one of my friends, the last band I was in was a folky...rock...acoustic band. I'm not even sure what we could've been called. The guys I currently play with are more just metal/speed metal. I prefer to play really heavy music myself, but I can't stand the growling/screaming anymore.

Favorite songs to play - I cannot play covers anymore. First few bands I was in that's all anyone wanted to do and I got so sick of it. The guys I'm with now wanted to cover Symphony of Destruction by Megadeth and we tossed around Pantera's Cemetery Gates...but we're not doing any covers now. Thank goodness. Acoustically I like playing Clapton and my own stuffs. My roommate wrote a song that's pretty sweet on acoustic, but I prefer to sing to it rather than play it.

Favorite bands/artists - Children of Bodom, Five Finger Death Punch, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Clapton, Flobots, Coheed and Cambria, Incubus, Shinedown, Funeral for a Friend, Lupe Fiasco, John Legend, Lamb of God. I'm kinda all over.

Most overrated band - Mmmmm... I think there's a bunch of overrated bands out there, but then again, different strokes for different folks, eh? I don't like to talk trash, so I won't.
