I'm posting all of my major characters here. They will be edited depending on where I use them. Feel free to criticize, especially if they're too long. Only four right now.

Name: Bryan Anderson
Race: Human
Age: 17 years
Sex: Male
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 140 lbs
Personality: Bryan usually shifts between three distinct moods. Usually, he comes across as reserved and mellow. When he's focused, he has a "zone" that he enters. At this point, he puts aside all emotion in order to achieve his task. It was with this attitude that he fought the demon Dragonis. Alternatively, he loses all control of his emotion and allows his rage to take over. In this berserk state, he stops at nothing to kill his foe.

Appearance: He's about 5'8" and lean. He has medium, dark brown hair that would cover his eyes if it had not been trimmed. His eyes are technically hazel, but are usually a mix of gray and green. He's always seen with his bokken (wooden training katana). He usually wears black jeans, boots, and a gray shirt. He gave his jacket to an angel, and still hasn't asked for it back.

Weapon: At first glance, it appears that Bryan carries only a bokken. However, it conceals a real katana, and the bokken's wooden "blade" serves as a sheath. He usually leaves the sheath on when he doesn't want to use lethal force in a fight. However, he once killed a man merely by bashing his skull in.

Abilities: What he lacks in supernatural abilites and sheer strength, Bryan makes up for in speed and endurance. This is especially true when he is fully focused. More than once, he has survived a blow that would prove fatal to a normal human. He is also very resistant to cold.

Bryan is also good with animals. While not technically a druid, he is certainly more than a snake charmer. Despite the time he has spent in nature, he has never been attacked by a wild animal. What's more, he finds that he is often able to calm them, especially when he employs the music of his clay ocarina.

In combat, he employs a mix of iaido and his own personal technique. His kiais are primarily drawn from his background in kendo. If forced into hand to hand combat, he fuses hapkido, tae kwon do, and a touch of his own flair. Therefore, it is fairly easy to tell he has a fair amount of martial arts training, although a good portion comes from his own innate talent.

History: Bryan was once a fairly normal member of society. Nearly two years ago, he decided he no longer wanted any part of humanity. He was sick of the way humans were destroying the environment, how hypocritical everyone was, and how all that mattered to guys his age was sex. He was looking for something more.

His family didn't like how reclusive and withdrawn he had become. In an attempt to force him to talk to people, they had him transferred to a boarding school. There, he fell in love. Not knowing how to deal with his feelings, he ran away on the very first day.

As much as Bryan wanted to remain in the wild forever, he was running low on food and water. He survived for a while on squirrel and deer meat. But after a while, he felt himself growing weaker. So he found another boarding school, and reluctanctly enrolled.

No sooner had Bryan entered his new school, than had he found trouble. As he explored the grounds, he stumbled across a wrecked room. Inside was the girl he had fallen in love with, but she was a bloody wreck. After recovering, she revealed that she was, in fact, an angel. She had nearly sacrificed herself for another tortured soul. What's more, she stil wanted to find him. Although they searched nearly the entire school, the young man was nowhere to be found. During a heartfelt conversation, Bryan finally revealed his feelings for the girl.
Once again, he wasn't able to cope, and fled into the woods.

It was a full month before Bryan reemerged. During that time, he survived on a raw fish, small game, and river water. As a form of meditation, he began to inscribe runes of ash on his flesh. Each set of runes was a record of important events in his life. Along his forearms, he recorded the day he beat his sensei in a duel. On his stomach, he wrote a dedication to his deceased, beloved dog. Across his chest. . . .

Finally, Bryan found another school to enroll in and felt he needed to go. As he stood before its great doors, he heard a girl crying. He knew exactly who it was. She had been hurt again. With the help of one of her friends, he comforted her, and they came to terms. What hurt Bryan the most was the fact that she had been looking for him. The guilt was overwhelming, but he managed not to run.

Just as it seemed everything would work out in the end, the man who hurt her returned. Bryan and the angel fled inside the school, while her friend bought them some time. Once inside, they finished their reconciliation. As they finally kissed, an explosion destroyed the wall. Bryan's foe had arrived.

An epic fight ensued. Although he gave it everything he had, Bryan suceeded only in holding the demon off so that his love could escape. But she refused to leave. Just as Bryan was about to die, she spirited him away. He felt exhiliaration in its purest form. He had never been happier. . . . Then he fell.

He fell and fell and fell. It was a fall no mortal should have survived. The sound of his body hitting the ground could be heard a mile away. Nonetheless, he was alive. For a week, he drifted between the excrutiating pain of conciousness, and the half-death of sleep. Finally, he managed to get to his feet and the pain eventually faded.

But something had changed. He was amnesiatic. He could remember only the fall, not the events leading up to it. He remembered someone screaming "Bryan", which he assumed to be his name. Somehow, he could still fight, as well as play his ocarina. But he could not recall how or why. Even the runes on his upper torso only recalled emotions for him.

He soon felt himself drawn towards a building. . . by forces he couldn't identify. With nothing else to do, he walked towards the figures he saw there. He recognized none of them, but his heart knew one. As he was about to approach her, he grew confused. There was another, and he wasn't sure who he was meant to be with. He was torn between the two.

Finally, one of the young women spoke up, and admitted that she had bewitched him. She had supressed his memories, jealous of what he had had with the angel. She apologized, and Bryan recalled everything. He turned to his love, and together they left the world of civilization. For the past six months, they have been living in a cabin in the woods, staying devoutly together. He, however, still feels a sense of wanderlust, and sometimes disappears for up to a week. Of course, he always returns, and she's always waiting, faithfully.

Name: Kana Mastar
Race: Human
Age: 20 years
Sex: Male
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 155 lbs
Personality: Kana is generally a nice guy, with a soft spot for attractive young women. He tries to avoid conflict unless he has a reason for it. He never opens up to others, though, and acts aloof when something is bothering him.

Appearance: Kana has fair skin and piercing blue eyes. His hair is naturally a very pale blue, almost silver. He is very slender, although he is tough enough to take a hit, and dish out just as much. He's usually clad in a long white and blue coat with a mantle.

Weapon: Kana is always barehanded.

Abilities: Kana is fast, agile, and graceful. He isn't overtly powerful, but the techniques he learned while learning the style of the Diamond Claw are. He tries do down his opponent with solid, decisive hits, and hates to takes risks. He focuses his energy (ki/chakra) and uses it to augment his punches and kicks.

History: Problems for Kana's family began when a group of traveling priests arrived at their town. Early on, they claimed that their god, Ter, was a caring protector of the weak, However, as more and more people converted, Halos grew darker and darker. When human sacrifices grew commonplace, the Mastar family elders could hold their tongue no longer.

A group of assassins were sent to silence them. Kana's grandfather sacrificed himslef to buy the rest time. They managed to escape into the countryside. For the next twenty years, Kana's remaining grandparents, uncle, and parents wandered from city to city. His remaining grandfather died shortly before he was born, and his triplet sisters a year later. During his early years, the family survived as a band of traveling entertainers- Kana played the piccolo. He always wanted to be a king, but that was one of many dreams that never came true.
When Kana was fourteen, the family got lost in a swamp. When it seemed they would never escape, a jet-black tiger appeared to them and led them to a cave. After several hours of following the tiger through a labyrinth of dark tunnels, they emerged in a colossal cavern. The roof dwarfed the dozens of stone huts on the floor. The huts were arranged with a three-story, palacelike structure in the center.
At last, the Mastar family had a home. This was the domain of Shika, an unusually well-mannered and gentle rakshasa. His subjects were the hunted, the lost, and the hopeless. He gave them all safety, and had never had to punish one of the cave's three hundred residents.

Kana's family became Shika's personal servants and musicians, Kana was chosen to work with two girls. Together, they groomed and fed Shika's pet, the black tiger. Kana soon found out that the tiger was actually completely blind. Also, he, like his master, was calm and pleasant.

When Kana was nineteen, one of his sisters began to serve as Shika's concubine. As a result, his family benefitted from Shika's favor. Their work grew lighter, their food richer, their life better. Kana asked her about it one night. She said that Shika was a gentle soul, and she truly loved him. Not once had he taken it farther than an embrace in front of the fireplace.

The adults of the community viewed the Mastar family's increase in luck with respect and admiration. As they did not know the truth, they generally believed that the members of Kana's family were just hard workers. Unfortunately, the truth was somehow discovered by the youth. Noone but three guys believed the 'rumour', though. Nonetheless, they jeered and taunted Kana.

One day, Kana decided enough was enough. The luckiest of the three walked away with a broken nose. They were too ashamed to tell anyone about the fight afterwards, and Kana saw no reason to make anymore of it.
Because Kana was relatively unscathed, he went into work that day, Perhaps Shika's tiger reacted to his negative emotions, perhaps it was something else. Whatever the reason, it went berserk as soon as Kana and his coworkers attempted to begin their daily ritual.

One of the young women fled immediately. The other could do nothing more than cower in a corner. Kana tried to calm the tiger down, but to no avail. The tiger prepared to pounce. Seeing no other options, Kana stepped directly between the beast and the girl, and locked eyes with it. The tiger stopped in its tracks. Neither man nor beast moved.

Shika arrived on the scene to see the tiger back down. Impressed by Kana's force of personality, Shika began to personally train him. After only a year, Kana mastered the fighting style of the Diamond Claw. This unusual technique combined sheer willpower with physical prowess. With one concentrated kick, Kana managed to shatter a granite stalactite from thirty yards.

Once Kana reached the age of twenty, Shika sent Kana to the surface. It was the first time he had seen real sunlight in six years. He had been sent to find more people in need of help and shelter. Although Kana vowed to remain true to his quest, he admitted that he wouldn't mind bringing down Ter's cult. He constantly reminds himself that anger clouds judgement.

Name: Ritsu Laximyrkcion
Race: Half White Dragon
Age: 72 (roughly 21 in human years)
Sex: Male
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 170 lbs
Personality: Ritsu usually keeps to himself unless bothered, but he can be very curious. Having lived only with his (literal) monster of a father, he knows nothing of modesty and other commonly accepted concepts. He wears clothes only because of protection. He also has trouble communicating, although he is an excellent speaker. He can’t really identify with anyone he meets. Ritsu is also fascinated by the female body. This is a mostly innocent quirk that often gets him into trouble.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Appearance: He has a lean build. His hair is white and reaches down to his shoulders. His eyes are a very light blue. He wears a white gi and hakama with black trim. Ritsu also prefers to travel barefoot.

Weapon: A pair of diamond-bladed “cat-claws”.

Abilities: Minor ice-related abilities. Freezing small amounts of water, for example.

History: Ritsu's father was Ceptagyryxx the Great White Wyrm. In his younger days, he was known as the Icy Scourge, but he eventually ceased his rampage. One winter many years ago, Ceptagyryxx discovered a young woman stumbling through a freezing mountain blizzard. He took her in. One thing led to another, and a child was born.

Ritsu's mother died of old age before he even reached maturity. Therefore, Ceptagyryxx, now thousands of years old, was his sole instructor in the ways of the world. Because of their relative isolation, many of Ritsu's opinions and thoughts are based on his father's beliefs.

Dragons eventually die. As Ceptagyryxx entered his twilight years, Ritsu volunteered to hunt for him. It was much less conspicuous, and it would keep him from overexerting himself. An accomplished hunter, Ritsu usually found enough large game to keep his father sated for a while, although the hunt usually took up several days.

Several years ago, Ceptagyryxx disappeared. Ritsu never bothered looking for him, knowing that it would be pointless. His father was either dead or far away. As a result, Ritsu found himself with a lot of free time. There was a whole world out there, waiting for Ritsu to experience it.

Name: Tier
Race: Anamigaeus (A kind of archangel)
Age: 18
Sex: Male
Height: 8'3"
Weight: 630 lbs
Personality: Tier's personality is not predictable. He can act calm and aloof one moment, and absolutely infuriated the next. In combat, he usually cuts loose and gives in to a simple rage, more fit for a demon than for one of his calling.

Appearance: Tier is a hulking specimen of striped muscle. Yes, short. Despite being, in short, an angel, he appears to be an anthromorphic tiger. He has a wicked set of teeth, in addition to his deadly claws. He also wears a copper-plated steel breastplate with bracers and greaves. Across his back is a sheath for his sword. Despite having this sheath, he usually carries the scimitar in his hand.

Weapons: His claws, his teeth, and Greifer, his rust-tinged but reliable scimitar.

Abilities: Posesses superhuman strength and agility. He was transformed into this form as he ascended, and has yet to find a way back.

History: Tier's father was a cultist worshipping the Demon Lord Sutekh, although he kept it a well-guarded secret from the rest of the family. Tier had always known his father was a little wierd, but had written it off as temporary insanity, or a particularly strong case of midlife crisis. A little-known fact was that Tier was born at 3:00 pm, which had always seemed to perturb his father.

When he was thirteen, Tier's parents got divorced. Being a boy strong in mind, body, and spirit, Tier made it through without feeling particulary bad. The divorce went smoothly, because he was an only child. Neither parent got remarried, and his father never would. On Tier's eighteenth birthday, the final seal was broken. He was at his father's apartment that day, and his father had been acting strangely all day.

At 3:00 p.m., the exact moment when Tier was born, his father revealed a handgun and fired at his son from point-blank range. What happened next is the only memory that Tier never forgets, and the only one he never talks about.

Tier, confused and disoriented, wandered through Central Park for days. During that time, a tall man with long blond hair and fair skin appeared to him. He told Tier that what was done had had to be done, and that there would be more death before the coming conflict was over. With that, the man led him out of the forest, and to his future.

I am really loving the weapon of choice. I've heard of shikomizues, but yours is pretty clever. I also appreciate how somewhat realistic your charracter is, in that he lacks supernatural abilities but has the skills of a fighter.

If I may ask, is this your style? I mean, giving them a sort of handicap that still makes them a wonderful character?

In most cases, yes. I really don't like to Godmode. Besides, everyone plays unrealistic characters, so I prefer to have my own, unique character.

Give it a few more years and you might rival me and drach in stash size:p But then again drach and myself have been stashing characters for the better part of 5 years:p I'm beginning to think an avarage of 9 characters a year might be a tad lowish... Drach does better with like 12 a year...
