Are parents too uptight today about children's shows?

Classic cartoons used to have cigarette smoking and slap-stick comedy., it used to be something that both children and adults enjoyed. They have pretty much banned that- if you look at old school Bugz Bunny or Tom & Jerry, you see a lot of subliminal messages.

Cartoons are a good indication of the status of 'political correctness'. Those who know a bit about political correctness know what I mean :)

I KNOW RIGHT!?

I was thankful enough to have been indulged in the Looney Toons, DBZ, and various classic 90's shows when they were still airing regularly.
Even then my parents limited that stuff because they TRIED to bubble wrap me... Thank God I found a way around most of it.

I almost missed out on my childhood because I was sheltered through most of it...

But hey, they are kind of catching back up with shows like Adventure Time, which is basically mindless fun...

I personally want to see something like The Magic School Bus or Bill Nye to come back to TV. You know, when learning from TV was FUN!?
