no, if one kid plays with the buster sword, lots do. which means cloud either doesn't interact with kids or see them at all before he regains his true self or this is forshadowing for a major retcon


if cloud sees kids playing with his sowrd (who he believes is the only owner) then why isn't he questioning that

Doesn't he believe himself to be a former SOLDIER 1st Class, so therefore it may be quite normal for little kiddies to be running around with replicas of his sword. After all, grown women ran around with copies of LOVELESS when Genesis was in SOLDIER, and then there was the Silver Elite and Keepers of Honour, yada yada.
 
Finally! After all this years waiting for this moment to come. Now we seen it with our own eyes that the remake is official, We can relax now and wait for it's release. They did a awesome job preparing the remake. I guess the waiting was worth it. The graphics are outstanding! I just hope that the story stays the same and the voice overs gets well made. All the hard work that Square Enix did to accomplish this remake paid the price.

Noticed that, too. I said it in the other thread that Edge shouldn't exist yet.


But my sister mentioned that maybe those scenes are from the future that would explain why edge is there.

Yes, but people would only know of the sword because of Angeal or Zack, not Cloud. And unless Square is gonna retcon in some memories for Cloud that would explain why kids are idolizing his sword, then this doesn't make sense

From Cloud's POV, he'ld think they're admiring him, so why would he ask, particularly if he thinks he's a SOLDIER 1st Class where that kind of admiration from the locals is expected?

Maybe, from the kid's POV they're admiring a cool SOLDIER 1st Class (since they're too young to have known him personally). Can't see why they'd start talking to Cloud about Zack anyway, doesn't seem like something that would come up in the game naturally, especially if Cloud is assuming they just like his sword and therefore not need to explore the matter.

remember that Zack was a local hero to the slums and not only that but Shinra could easily cover up his existed. just like they did for Angeal and Genesis. Overall though, its just a giant sword. It doesn't mess with the story. its just a teaser trailer.

Yeah, that would mean square would have to retcon in some memories of cloud doing something that the community acknowledged, but seeing how pres shinra said to cloud 'who the fuck are you' that means square is gonna have to add some memories or show cloud being perplexed by kids using his sword
 
I can't be the only one wary about this remake??? FFVII was successful in implementing the storyline and game interactions because of their PS1 Era models. Creating an interactive Advent Children world, I personally feel, will take away those moments that made FFVII special. The closest remakes of this level would be FF III and IV but the designs themselves were cutesy enough that it didn't detract from the pixelated predecessor. They managed to enhance the story, which I'm afraid will have the adverse effect here.
 
i'm nervous about three things;

1 cloud will be ugly and feminine looking
2 nojima will go back on his word about making cloud and aerith lovers and will give something to the cloti shippers
3 RETCONS

other than that, i'm fine.

People have been wary for it for "years" but i highly doubt its going to detract. I've never seen a remake from SE add "less" rather than more. Yes, they will obviously have to refine as some of the older aspects are going to be retconned.

Airship and chocobo access will obviously differ. but i'm looking forward to the changes. So long as they don't make too many references to Advent children, crisis core, before crisis, and even Dirge of cerberus

This. I liked AC and Crisis Core and all, but let's keep this close straight to the heart. As long as they remain true to the original story, I'm good.
