2013/4/24 - Square-Enix Japan trademarked "Final Fantasy Agito".

Does that sound familiar? Of course it does!

"Final Fantasy Agito XIII", as many will recall, was first announced in E3 of 2006 along with the other Fabula Nova Crystallis games as a mobile phone game. It switched platforms to the PSP and went through a name change to "Final Fantasy Type-0", dropping both "Agito" and the "XIII" moniker.

It wouldn't surprise me. Square Enix is giving every impression that they changed their minds and want Fabula Nova Crystallis to be all about Lightning.

Curious move. Could they be planning to release another game altogether? Keeping in mind the recent change of management to me it personally seems this could a wild card to go in any direction, I just hope it isn't in fact going to instead be Lightning centric as she's had enough games. Considering Agito was the original title and it's now Reishiki could this be sequel/prequel? I figure it could be a prequel due to Agito allegedly meaning to put into motion.

Maybe, but they did drop the XIII in Fabula Nova Crystallis so dropping XIII may be the natural course. But the naming was stupid to begin with. Why bame a game Agito/Versus XIII? Theres no ff agito 1-12 nor ff versus 1-12.

But the fact that type-0 creator wanred the agito series to branch out of fabula nova crystallis, maybe versus will cut all ties with fabila nova crystallis aswell with maybe just the common etro and lcie

As I recall, there were also trademarks issued to SE for type-1, type-2 and type-3. Maybe Agito links into that, seeing type-0's already out there... If it is, I'm looking forward to it. Very.

Either that or they pull off a Seiken Densetsu. Originally, the title was meant for a 6+ floppy disc game for the famicom add-on system and was canceled. Then they just slapped on the name onto a FF spin off.


so maybe ff agito is a western release for type-0 or a completely new series that saves them time not trademarking a new title. But I doubt it, ff type-0 uses the word "Agito" doesnt it?
