AVG

Same, I just got the scary red window saying FFF is baaaaad Dx

From what Vik was saying earlier in the SB, I think you have to change the forum skin and it's ok. Did it to me too :hmmm:

There appears to be a Vulnerability in the black & orange Skin at the moment, which is why you need to change your Skin. I.E. is not a F.P., so, when you change your Skin, I.E. should no longer warn you of this being an Un-Safe Web Site.

Also, AVG does not have the best Detection Rates...

It's happened with Norton and Avast also.

Mitsuki has changed the default skin to the FFForum v1 skin for new members, but you might still have to change the skin yourself.

Scroll to the bottom and you'll find the option there.

We're working on figuring it all out, so until we do, it's advised you stick to the FFForum v1 skin. :)

Norton still class the Forums as "Safe", and it's been Safe all the time I've been here, so am guessing that it is happening when users are still using the Black & Orange Skin.

A Vulnerability is a whole that people can use to inject Malicious Code in to the Web Site, or gain access to you computer - which s why you need to keep your Anti-Virus Software up-to-date, and use one which has got an excellent Detection Rate, i.e. 98% and above.

Hope this was helpful. :)

:x3: its annoying!!!

how horrible why would people do that?

Its weird though my AVG updated today and its only after that it started happening so whats changed since then????

It was really helpful thank you

Hi,

It's not just AVG that reports this, I.E. also reports it as well as other Anti-Virus Products.

People want to do that so they can either use your computer as a Botnet, which means they can use your computer to attack other computers; or try to spy on you to gain Passwords, Usernames and your Credit Card details as well as you P.I.N. to steal money off you, as well as a few other things, such as installing Fake Anti-Virus Software, or render your computer un-usable.

If you require clarification, please let me know and I'd be happy to provide any informaion you require. :)

Well whatever the case is all the skins appear to be infected as far as my anti-virus is concerned....I willl now be staying away for some time=)

the big red window actually isnt avg, its microsoft, if you were using firefox with avg that wouldnt happen, ive got it too

http://yfrog.com/0yiwinhj

thing is my avg IS reporting the site... see where it says "page status" in the toolbar with exclamation marks? thats avgs way of saying "bad", the big red window part is microsoft..

the skin was already set on fixed for me and its still reporting it infected

That skin has always been called FFFV1 Fixed.... We don't know what the issue is at the moment, but we are looking into it, so please be patient as we sort it out. It seems that only threads are infected this time, and it is on both skins. We are working on this issue so hopefully it will be fixed soon. as long as your antivirus is detecting the threat you SHOULD be alright, as the antivirus will block the potentially harmful connection. for me, Avast pops up saying it is blocking a connection from hotcoinsru.com, which means you SHOULD be safe. You should run a scan on your computer though just to be safe.

symantec seem to think that this Web Site is Safe, and I've had nothing Blocked from this Web Site. Strange...

I would strongly advise people to make sure they've got all the Microsoft Updates installed on their computer/laptop.
