I don't get the meme either.

It's another one of those things that many people seem to know all about but I'd never really heard of it... Then it gets posted in a new thread and all of the people who knew about it come out of the closet and start talking in detail about the meme, and about plot-points of the show.... Whereas in my mind My Little Pony was just a series of pony toys for little girls... Never anything deeper than that. I never knew that such things were possible.

Spiderman, however, I can understand.

It's basically badly veiled satire and social commentary that's not all that funny. But since ponies are doing it and it's cool to hate it, all the hipsters started liking it based on that alone.
