bah neds

it's like every time i lift my arms, the comforting setting of the everglades sets in.

firstly why would anyone wanna watch a film with the idea that its gunna be about people failing and its gunna be shite? And i think the idea was that for actors that are unknown the film is rather good.

the city of god is one of the best films ever made, hands down.

And the cast were mostly made up of new actors.

I cant deny that that is so epicly true. The City of God was one of the best films in another language I have watched. Although Death Note Live Action movies are good aswell, because it also taught me a little bit of Japanese whilst watching and rewatching it to find out if I missed any of the subtitles.

Overall I didnt mean it to come across as it actually being shite I meant to say that I would expect it to be shite for a film of unknown British actors. As not meaning to say that there isnt and that there arent in the film but we dont seem to have many good unknowns coming out of movies or tv series recently compared to places like Japan and Mexico/Brazil/Spain wherever City of God was filmed. Brazil!

Sorry if I have rambled on I may have had a wee to much Jagermeister at my mates party.

Sorry to anyone who wasted their time reading this to the end...

british cinema largely comprises of unknowns. mostly because of the dominance of hollywood, and when there are truly great british actors it's usually through the films of hollywood. but you get the odd, fantastic actor like bernard hill who sticks to home projects.

Ya city of God was set in the favela in Rio.
For me its probadly one of, if not the greatest film(s) ever made. Nothing quite blew me away like that did. It was awesome :ryan:

I dont know why but I actually understand what you have said and that has swayed me a little, I am just writing my opinions from bad experiences with unknown actors in british films, take Colin for example made on a budget of £45 and a cast of unknown Chavs as the cast.... Could that sentence ever end in a positive way? :hmmm:

budget of £45 is the killer. i know nothing is impossible, but that just... is. :wacky:

Yes it was impossible... They clearly used pork chops and cherryade for the guts and blood cus the blood was fizzing as it was 'running' out of the guys 'half eaten stomach' more like they where tights with pork chop strips and cherryade in...

Do Not!
I Repeat Do Not!
Attempt to watch this film!
For fear of death from boredom and hatred for the people who mugged you off for the shittiest and most boring zombie film ever!

City of God ranks equal with the two Death Note Live Action films. If not slightly better for it is film tackling the real world events that happen in those places everyday of the year for them and also about the ins and outs of how that lifestyle is treated by the locals around them.
