Yeah, I know a lot of them do. My sister is no exception. To her, the story and characters is everything, so when she's not pleased with those, she dismisses the entire game. I admit it's a big portion of what makes Final Fantasy mean so much to me, however one must not overlook all the other features. Personally I think XII was close to perfection, had it not been for that one "little" thing. :)

Regarding Revenant Wings, I read somewhere that if you're expecting it to be an as grand adventure as the original, you might become disappointed. :worried: Still, one could always get it solely for the graphics sake. Square are, has always been and always will be the masters of pretty FMVs.

As Final Fantasy VII is my favourite FF game of all time, I won't lie and say I am not dying to get Crisis Core, because I am so much of a sucker that I would buy, play and love the darn game even if it was really bad, just because it had "Final Fantasy VII" in the title. ;)

Balthier and Fran ... Hmm ... Little Balthiers with bunny ears running around would just be too funny. :D

Yeah, the graphics were undeniably the prettiest ever made, but come on, you have to admit there wasn't much of a story. ;)

What, did they meet by having a random threesome whilst drunk. Possibly, but my theory is that they met in Balfonheim. Thats where all the sea/sky pirates are.

Not much of a story? I seen a story. lol. I was quite astounded by this movie. Maybe it's because I didn't play much of VII.

Also, little Bunny eared, gun shooting Viera Humes running around would be an interesting site.

Advent Children in terms of story didn't really match up to the game but I guess thats because the movie was 2 hours long and the game clocked at about 40 hours.
 
Maybe Fran was actually trying to make a difference when she left the wood for forty-four years, but then realised that she couldn't and perhaps she met Balthier? And in the next six years, they vowed to not get caught up in anyone else's business, but just be together and be sky pirates together? It's late, so excuse my little hyper brain.
 
Hahaha. Fran might have run into him and they had brawled it out and came to a tie and decided to work together. =)
 
i agree with the person who said they probably met in balfonheim, because of the sky pirates and the other people there search for freedom above all else

Unfortunately, this is one of the main gripes I had with most of the characters back-stories in this game. Great game, but it was somewhat lacking in that department. I apologize if this has already been said, but I think Balthier and Fran’s back-story does get answered in RW’s…

 Anyway, we obviously know that they somehow end up together due to common interests, but where?... When?... How?...
 
Exactly. I would like to know alittle bit more than the fact that Fran abandoned her Village and met Balthier in some way or another. =/.
 
Fran left her village 50 years before the story began, so she couldn't have met balthier then! Unless he was a highly evolved feutus!
I say they met when Balthier first left the empire behind. That would make more sense, he had no sort of crew together so he asked her to join him.
 
He most likely was hurt by some thugs seeing as he is a sky pirate. He was probably picked up by fran on one of her hunts and she took him to where the viera's live. She was most likely looked down upon by the other vieras for bring a hume into their home. While he was recovering they began to care for each other and the other vieras saw this and when he was 100% again they banished fran. Having no place to go balthier took her with him and that rest is history.

You know hypothectically speaking lol

my story is wrong lol i just remembered that fran left 50 years before the story took place so here is the corrected verison.


Fran left the home of the viera's because she didnt want to live a life of solitude she wanted to see the world. After a while she happened upon balthier and most liekly helped him out of a tough jam with some thugs cause he is a sky pirate after all. Then they formed a bond and have been together ever since
 
I kinda see it as Balthier and Fran trying to go for the same Hunt and end up sparring against one another. Ended up loosing the Hunt and decided they are both good fighters and Fran joined Balthier in his quest. =).

Lame story. haha.
 
i reackon when they met each other like they met vaan.
they were both on a mission tryin to steal somthing and they met up and decided to work together :p
 
all i know is that fran is a viera

Yeah that could be it they were both trying to steal something and they ended up meeting just like they Met Vaan. Yeah It could be or Fran left the woods and Balthier found her and they became sky pirates.
 
Sorry to open an old discussion but I thought Fran was Balthiers mother!

The problem is I can't find proof of it anywhere now.
I thought she and Cid did the naughty long ago...

Please help if you know any more
