Help Beastiary?

The numbers in the Beastiary obviously indicate how much of each beast you have to kill before it's "enough" and you get the "!" symbol, but enough for what? Does anyone know what the importance of completing the beastiary is?
 
Oh. Shucks, if that's the case I wont bother completing it then. I thought it led to a powerful item or something like capturing in FFX to get Auron's weapon. And I've already missed out on the Zodiac Spear :( (stupid random chests!) >:[ Thanks for the reply.
 
Actually I think it does give you something. If you read about each one in the bestiary, they give you tips sometimes on things, like hints to side quests, etc. So I don't think its a bad idea to do it, definitely couldn't hurt!
 
Yeah it is worth completing if you like to complete everything in games... me :rolleyes:
