Best fighter.

i say Tifa because shes a street fighter and has a kick ass, nobody bosses me arround, attitude. and i love people with attitudes like that. lol.
 
i'll say Tifa for only two reasons.

1.cause she's really the best one
2.she's my favourite character
 
well for me its cloud because he can deal 9999 damage and he has a giant blade and i like all the fighters with swords, and my second its vincent he with his weapon i like it and he is fast.
 
Well, my strongest character was Cid, But i prefered Aeris while I had her... I just trained her up from the begining until you lose her...

So I'd probably say Aeris!

Barret is the strongest and best character in FFVII in the game, bar none. Since when fully maxed, he is even faster than Cloud, however most importantly, he can deal out more damage, and much more faster than Cloud as well. His Urgamax does 18 hits for 9999, making him and Cid being the only ones dealing out the same potential damage and the most in the entire game, however since Cid is slower, Barret edges him out.

With the right materias equipped Barret can achieve this damage potential, but most importantly, he can do it continously as well. Making a fight like Emerald lasting only 2 minutes at the very most.

Cid is basically like Barret above, only slower, that's all.

Yuffie is better than Cloud as well, she can also deal out 15 hits for 9999, with Doom of the Living. Most importantly though, her weapon Conformer in the end is stronger than Clouds.

Cloud is the 4th best character in the entire game, during the beginning he is without a doubt the best, however once higher levels are reached, he is outshined by Barret, Cid and Yuffie.

OmniSlash deals out 15 hits for 9999, however what makes Yuffie edging out Cloud is his own Ultima Weapon. The weapon is strong, however it comes with a heavy handicap, Cloud's damage depends upon how much HP he has, so if Cloud loses half of his hp, he'll drop down also in his damage potential...which is the biggest reason why Cloud loses out to Yuffie, who can continue dealing 9999 damage no matter what her HP value is.

The rest are mediocre at best.
