Whats the best gift you've ever been given? Whether it was for a birthday one year, xmas or some other event. Was it something specially made for you with love or maybe just something really wanted but could never afford?

Mine was My puppy Miles, its not very creative but my dad bought him for me for my housewarming and he drove us all the way to Melbourne to get him :D (I'm in Adelaide)
He's my little buddy and he is the best gift I have ever been given :D

Now you :cookie2:

Puppies are the bomb. :D

Valentines Day - four years ago: a gigantic bear holding hisiscus flowers. I didn't know it at the time but there was a note within the bear's bow tie, like ingeniously folded to fit in such a small space, written in Al Bhed... XD Although... it was like an entire page of chicken scratch that took a long time to translate through the internet but...

Nerds are sweet. xD Responded with a odd pokemon plushie with a note in the cape because was in love with Piplup (?).
:reptar: ...it was still weird though. :tehe:

But my sister got a five foot tall rose and a dinosaur balloon the size of a sumo wrestler baby.

...that rose was the bomb...
:jess:

(...why am I using dated slang?)

The ring Steve bought me for my birthday in 2008.

I had never been given a ring by any boy before so this was a real surprise.

A few months before my birthday I had mentioned to him how I had never had any sort of jewellery given to me by any of my previous boyfriends, so he went out and bought a ring for me. >.<

I loved it! Not often a guy can pick a ring the girls like!

The best gift ever is the gift of life. *shot*

Best gift I have ever received...that is a tough one. I think I'd probably have to say my dog as well. Considering how hard it was for us to even get him and how much I like him I'd probably go with that.

If we're talking about actual gifts I'd have to say it's my car. It is such a nice car that my brother was nice enough to give to me once he got his new car. It only cost me $2,000 that I have to pay off by next year. So I am very grateful for that.

This is a tough one because I've had a lot of gifts that were made for me, and had meaning from that angle, but also a few nice purchased ones that were great to get as gifts because I could never have afforded them on my own :hmmm:

So...best purchased one: my electric guitar, when I was 15 :jess: Metallic blue Ibanez, I have used it *soooooo* much and it helped me get through a lot of stressful times. I shamefully haven't used it much lately, but as soon as we move we'll be setting up a room like a studio, so it will be much easier to play and record music again, and then I'll get more use out of my guitar again ^^

Best homemade one...a pair of steampunk aviator goggles my husband made for me this Christmas :yay: I totally wasn't expecting it--all I knew was that he was making something, but I didn't have the slightest clue what. But they look really awesome and I know he put a lot of work into them as well.

Ooo, numerous things!!

My cat, Oliver. I was given him when I was 8 years old.
My Pikachu Nintendo 64. I was like, 6-7 when I first got that.
And when I got Crisis Core for christmas and an Xbox from Leo out of the blue. <3

My Mega Drive

I went on and on and on and on about it

Xmas day came opened all my prezzies, no Mega Drive, tbh, I never actually expected it anyway, and I was more than happy with what I got, mum always went the extra mile at Crimbo and got us loads of stuff. Lookingback, she must have saved all year long to be able to get us stuff, we were always skint lol

Anyway, about half an hour later, mother buggers off, reappears from the kitchen with this big box. I swear to shit I almost wee'd/died in excitement

Best. present. EVER

And yes, this was donkies years ago -__-

This is a very tough one, It's either my Chinchilla (RIP :() my Majora's Mask cartridge and FF Anthology, or my Legend Of Zelda sweater............. I choose all of those!!!

Hahahahahahaha

Aye same here. When i opened that up on christmas day all those years ago id never felt so happy in my life. I dont think i even saw my ma and da for a good few days afterwards as i was playing on my megadrive non stop.
That was at a prime age when presents were really exciting. Now i can work and buy whatever i want. That was something a 6 yr old kid couldnt do. Not to mention that back then the megadrive was the best thing available.
Nothing will ever beat my dog ellie though. Nothing ever. RIP my good duggie.

When we say "gift", I'm assuming this is something in the nature of a surprise. But you can buy gifts for yourself, right? :wacky:

I bought myself a custom artbook with 200+ blank watercolor pages. It's 13lbs with red leather and it has my name and the book's title embossed in gold lettering on the side. It's magnificent. Best waste of money I ever spent. <3

The only people who buy me gifts are my mom & S.O., and they do a great job at it. :D
My mom always buys me new diaries and little knick knacks. I do love me some knick knacks to clutter up my room. Last year for Christmas my S.O. got me a coffee pot, about 92349174 bags of cheetos puffs, and some art books by my FAVORITE artists ONLY found in little Tokyo. <3
Good job, guys...

I got a chihuahua puppy for Christmas several years ago. I named her Cui after an obscure character in Dragonball Z. She's probably the best gift I've received.

I'm also really fond of several gifts my girlfriend has given me over the years. Handmade snow globes, t-shirts, artwork, cards, etc. She always gives really thoughtful gifts.

While my puppy is still an amazing and special gift, I have a new best gift ever.

My beautiful boyfriend sent me a really pretty necklace, it took over a week to get to me haha and we were starting to get worried but it finally came and it was WELL worth the wait. It's beautiful!
I've shown it off to my family and friends hahaha I just love it so much. I can't think of a better gift <3

Aww... Disappointed feeling is disappointing. I thought this was gonna be asking what the best gift could possibly be, in which case it would be that damn bus I was talking about.

Anyway, the best gift I've ever got.... My two brothers. Easily. I wouldn't give them up for anything, and I'd do anything to protect them.

when i was younger i got an amazing wooden train set that i loved. i can't remember if it was a birthday or christmas present, but i got a lot of playing hours out of it

This reminds me of a great gift I received when I was younger.

One Christmas I asked for a zoo...
My parents asked someone at their church if he would build me a wooden zoo. He did so. Well, he cut pieces of wood and painted them, so that they could be slotted together.

It was epic. The zoo had a perimeter wall which could be set up, and the zoo was almost half the size of the living room and would take up the centre of the room whenever I set it up. It had pens and houses for the animals, pools, etc. I also had lots of animals to place in it.

Also, since I'm also a genius I decided to combine my wooden zoo set with my playmobil train set. The train could take playmobil figures, etc, into the zoo itself.

It was amazing, thinking about it. I wouldn't mind finding it again.

The best gift I ever received was one of 1000 copies of Amano's "The Sky" collection of FF artwork books. After that all my game consoles, and I still remember the unadulterated joy of unwrapping FFIX as a kid. The nicest gift I received recently was a casing for the HDD I salvaged from my broken laptop. A very thoughtful gift from a thoughtful friend - though I think he just got sick of me bringing a sad naked HDD to copy on to all the time.

The best gift, if this counts, was from Peter. He took me to see Lindsey Stirling in London on 28th May! It was a complete surprise! I had absolutely no idea she was even coming to London, although he was worried I'd find out before the day. He booked tickets before we even got together; one of the numerous reasons we connected in the first place was that we both liked her music. He 'booked' me and told me he wanted to take me to something which was only happening on that day. He said 'I know you'll like it!' Even then, I wanted to spend as much time with him as I could. So, of course, I accepted! :)

Do you remember Skaeletrix? Or howeevr you spell it. The motorised cars on a track. They were amazing :lew:

I remember mines always broke though or the cars would get warped :(

i loved scalextric, i've still got it all at my parents. i remember i had a ferrari that you could almost push flat out without it coming off the track, even round corners. my dad gave me all his old track as well from when he was a kid, so i had quite a lot.

As a kid i never understood the concept of slowing down when taking a corner so id always just tank it. Probably why all my cars got so fucked :(
It was the definitive Boys toy though. I reckon id still enjoy it today tbh :lew:
I have a feeling my scaeltrix was my dads aswell. I remember it seeming to be very old
