Best Graphics of the Series

I have to agree, FFX definitely has the best graphics of the series! Even if 'technically' it may not be that superior to XII, it certainly looks like it.. to most of us anyway.

I always thought XII's characters looked.. odd. The shading of their faces/bodies and the way they all look the same.

XII looks like it's trying to be an Anime, it's keeping to a more artistic style.

X has beautiful realistic graphics, it's amazing even now. The colours are a lot nicer too. It was so enjoyable to play/watch, it felt like a movie. I remember being amazed looking at images of the game's graphics before it came out.

Yeah the characters suddenly looked Asian in the FMV's which was very odd, but that doesn't mean the graphics are worse. Your playing most the game with in-game graphics anyway.

And although the lip-syncing and animation in parts could have been better, it didn't ruin the graphics and overall feel of the game. I should really play it again on my amazing new TV. :P

Let's see how XIII's graphics will shape up. It should definitely be better as it's on the PS3.

I will agree also,
But not for long, XIII's grahics are going to be amazing, however, I dont play for the look of things, im quite happy sitting and playing the Legacy Installment to be honest...
 
Replaying X recently has given me a change of heart. X looked more reasonable. XII had some...anomalies like Vaan's chest which looks like a layer of bricks D: X looks better and revolutionary, whereas XII went back a little in time looks wise.
 
XII had I think better background graphic like earthy stuff and that sort of thing but overall X's people graphics is better. The people look more realistic whereas XII as everyone has said isnt. Yes, Vaan's chest is kindof weird XD but i mean, other then that their graphics werent too bad. Its hard to say since I havent played either in a while so imma have to stay neutral. :griin:

LOL Very good point. However, noone seems to be taking notice.

Anyway, I believe XII's 3D scenery graphics and excessive detail are AMAZING, while the characters in X look more natural in my opinion. I always thought Vaan's abs looked like they got run over by a tire from a 6-wheeler and thus became indent instead of the other way around. LOL
 
I gotta agree that the graphics are the best in this part of the series.

I love the animation on the characters in game and in the CGI moments especially the water pool/kissing scene.

although saying that I never played any of the other for any extended period of time so I don't know anything about the graphics
 
I think Tmoo is trying a little too hard in some vain effort to seem intelligent. And in my eyes, failing horribly. No offense, shut up. All we're trying to establish here is if you were shown a picture of each FF game, which one would YOU say is the best looking graphics wise. Really, why are you putting so much thought process into that? It's an OPINION topic for each person that answers, not some research project we need to put under a microscope.

But as for me, I would Def. say FFX. FFXII isn't as bad as most of the people here are saying it is.
 
Number 10 is the only one I have played so far and I think the graphics are amazing! They look awesome on my TV as well and like for example when you see one of the character's close up like from above and it's focusing on their hair and it's flying in the wind, looks so much like real hair! I couldn't stop staring at it XD lol And their eyes have a pretty real life like thing to them as well. Another thing is the water in the blitzball stadium, again, looks a lot like real water and the way it moves etc.

Please refrain from insulting other members in your posts. I understand that you may not agree with his post but this is highly unnecessary.
 
I prefer the landscapes of XII to that of X, although they are quite similar, and XIII again in parts appears to be of the same ilk. Although Cocoon is more futuristic like VII and VIII. However I also agree with the views that the characters on X look more accomplished than in XII, and also like someone said that XII is just blonde! :P

The FMV's in each game seem to get better and better. But I think in terms of what I prefer, VIII takes the prize I'm afraid.
 
The eyes in XII always make me so mad!
There is like no variation in the shading and they just look pasted on.
That goes for like every character in the game, they just had these weird looking eyes.

But in X they were more lively to me, I don't know why. But I do prefer X's character graphics over XII, but I prefer XII's towns, and environments far more superior to X.

I'm surprised that you take my post offensively, good sir. Pointing out that it's incorrect to state opinions as fact hasn't done anyone harm.

as for why i seem to put so much thought into my posts of JUSTICE, well, that's just me. deal with it :wacky: and i'll put whatever i want under that microscope, thanks. it's my right as a poster on this forum :>

my own opinion on which is better comes down to little details like spell animations, environment rendering and other small stuff like the flow of the characters' hair. in that regard XII wins hands down. I'm not dissing X though, its graphics are very vibrant and wonderfully colored.
