Best Musical piece in FFXII

I loved Giza Plains during the Rains, it's a great piece which overflows with vigor and accompanies axe strikes into a Tortoise very well.

Esper and Esper Battle: They were good strong pieces really, always had fun listening to them.

I agree. The esper music was great. Esper Battle is probably my favorite piece from the entire soundtrack. It really made the battles with the espers feel epic (even the ones that were fairly easy).

I also really enjoyed the remix of Gilgamesh's battle theme and Giza plains during the rains. The Pharos also had a really good tune but I can't remember whether it was the first or second ascent. :gasp:

Reminds me, I also liked the Pharos Subterra piece.

I thought most of the soundtrack was outstanding. The are so many examples of the music effectively capturing and enhancing the vibe of the area. Many more thematic tracks that previous installments. Not really a single stand-out track but most of them serve their purpose well.

Some of my favorites that are a little off from those mentioned previously:

- Great Crystal: Nice balance between eery and anxious.
- Barheim Passage: Love the whistle. Sets a nice mood when trying to escape from Nalbina.
- Dalmasca Westersand: Nice, rugged theme that fits well with the sandstorms.
- The Sandseas: Love the intro - it really meshes well with the vision of an endless sea of sand.

I'll occasionally pull one of the playlists up off of youtube and set it to random to help me get to sleep.

I loved the Judges theme, was so powerful sounding. Also the esper and yiazmat themes because it fit so well with the ancient beings u where fighting.

To The Place Of The Gods - Great Crystal
Awesome. But it gets boring after 3+ hours of respawning the Excalibur chest and getting to Omega Mk XII.
The Beggining Of The End - Pharos 1st Ascent
This is my favourite. It's just pure awesomeness.
Clash Of Swords - Earth Tyrant, Mandragoras
Best boss battle theme.
Fight to the Death - Vossler
Nice, fits the battle perfectly.
Seeking Power - Paramina Rift
:awesome:
Theme of the Empire
'Nuff said. Epic.

XII was FULL of epic songs.

What I loved was the music when you were fighting the important bosses in the game, along the lines of Vossler, Gabranth, Bergan, Ghis and Cid. It was really approriate because it would start a few seconds before the actual fight, and you knew and epic battle was on the way.

Seeking Power. Beautiful tune, interesting that you're slaying creatures all the while it plays, it gives off a feeling of "I'm so awesome I can kick ass with no need for a battle theme".

The song that plays during the load screen is nice as well. What's it called really, "Final Fantasy"? Couldn't really tell from bluelaguna. :/
It also plays in the final part of the opening track of Final Fantasy IV DS, it's called Prelude.

I agree with others.
FFXII's music is definately different to Uematsu's.
Hmm *listens to all four discs of FFXII*
I prefer other FF soundtracks.
But I like "Rebellion" from the first disc =]
And the "Opening Movie" which is right at the beggining before we meet Vaan =]
But it is definately different compared to the other FF music.
It's the kind of music that you can relate to a past time, where are the other music scores were more timeless and you couldn't pin point them at a specific time or century that we've lived through.

I like some and hate some soundtracks of the game, but one special I really cry to is the Main Theme which you may hear in every Final Fantasy game. Okay... I can´t really say that it´s FFXII only, but it´s still a sound which gives me a really great lust for playing it. ^^

I like the the Giza Planes theme. It seems so exciting and, I don't know, I just really like it. It's nice during the Rains too. Gets stuck in my head sometimes.

I liked most of the BGMs. They were all very good and perfectly fit in the game.
My most favorite one was the one played during fighting Gilgamesh.
It was looped many times during the battle (took me sometime to finish him off) and really gave me the power to continue fighting for such a long time.
I hear it on Youtube from time to time:

-"Seeking Power"- Paramina Rift:
It was a nice and relaxing piece, it helped emphasize the feeling of a wintery place. It's always one that stood out to me. and I'm listening to it right now :]
-the piano version of "Kiss me Goodbye":
because its simply a lovely piece on the piano.
- Eruyt Village
Its a piece that makes me thoughtful and reminds me of rivers and forests, which I tend to spend a lot of time in

Does Kiss Me Goodbye count? If so, then that's the best piece of music in the game for me. I love it, it's a great song to have at the end as I thought it was really powerful.

I quite like the Esper battle music though, I thought that was epic, and among the more memorable pieces of music in the game.

Most of the music though, just played nicely in the background and didn't stand out much for me D=

The music is really very different since Uematsu-san left SE, but I like his style that fit the game's story and plot. as i know Sakimoto-san try to compose the way Uematsu-san compose his music, but in he decided to make a way/style in composing music.

The Ending Theme is the best music in FFXII that Sakimoto-san composed. Also Uematsu-san contribute one music on the game and that is the theme song which is Kiss Me Goodbye that was sung by the popular pianist/singer in japan, Angela Aki.
