Best place to train?

So after reading the Bahamut threads I was thinking I'd like to go back and have a crack at Midlights Deep and the other few missions I haven't beaten but I can't find a decent place to level. I think I'm about 92% complete, give or take a percent or 2 I can't quite remember.

Once Id tried Midlight afew time (and gave up) I came to the conclusion that I couldn't be bothered finding anywhere to train because tere were so many bloody areas available to go..

Any tips?

Midlight deep level 1 continuously or for the easier (and faster) route, do the gates of forgotten time over and over again.
