Which song in the FF series do you consider to be the best Vocally?

Personally i like Aria di mezzio Caraterra from the Tour De Japon where real people sang it as its really beautiful.

I also like Pure heart (Aeriths Vocal theme) and Terras theme Vocal

Heres a list of places where you can listen to all the songs if you've forgotten them or if you just want to listen to them,

Pure Heart - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7L_PE0tLeaA

Terras Vocal theme - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=qoB0VWi42u4

Aria Di Mezzio Caraterre - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ta8qAdRStO8

Suteki Da Ne - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HhvKWMyGXGA

Eyes On Me - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ai51h7JmQY

Liberi Fatali - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=oatJZMK4UeI

One Winged Angel - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Yn71hIsm0U8

1000 Words - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=4poJJu-ZH-0

And if theres anymore I've forgotten send me a PM with a link and ill add it up there ^_^

Suteki da Ne, all the way. =) It's so soothing and sexy. Shen and I should have a duet on MSN sometime. ^_^

And then sing, "Here Comes the Rain Again." :P

Suteki Da Ne fo' sho'.

:P

Yeah, I love that song, ever since I heard it on YouTube a couple weeks ago.
Gotta love the melody; plus it's just beautiful.

I'd go with the Aria. Beautiful song, beautiful moment, and opera in general is just awesome. My only complaint is the flawed Italian lyrics.

Why do I decline the others?

Pure Heart and Suteki da Ne have wonderful melodies. But I hate Rikki's voice. It's insubstantial and gets utterly overpowered by the score, in my opinion. She's a Japanese folk singer by trade, and has a perfect voice for such a genre, but not these scores.

Liberi Fatali and One Winged Angel are both choral, very strong. But I feel like both are really suited best to accompany something else and I wouldn't listen to either one on its own.

Wanderer of Time (Terra's Theme) and Eyes On Me are both pleasant. I loved the Eyes On Me theme from FFVIII (one of the people who honestly didn't think it was overplayed), but it was still just a pop ballad for me - not to mention the Engrish. Terra's Theme is haunting, but more a work of nostalgia for me, than something to listen for its own sake.

Melodies of Life was a nice song. I didn't play FFIX, so I don't have the bias of attributing it to the game, so I can kind of look at it as a song and nothing else. And I think it seems like a nice song a mother might sing to a child. Emiko Shiratori really seems motherly to me, too.

1000 Words and Real Emotion - these two try a little to hard to be breakout pop ballads. And I don't really like the style that they convey.

Kiss Me Goodbye = background music. That's all I have to say about that one.

I used to think "Suteki da Ne" was tops until I got the Voices DVD. I was hugely indifferent to "Eyes on Me" until I heard that song on that DVD. Very soulful, just...wow.

Best vocal song and top favorites of mine are: Eyes on Me & 1,000 words.

Other personal favorites are: Suteki Da Ne, Melodies of Life and Kiss Me Goodbye.

I liked 1000 Words and Kiss Me Goodbye (don't hurt me! ;) ).

There's also a place in my heart for Melodies of Life and Suteki Da Ne.

Wow, I can't pick one!

Eyes on Me, 1000 Words, Suteki Da Ne and Terra (Vocal Collection).

What about Otherworld, Hymn of Faith and The Skies Above, ehh? ;P Also, there's more than one version of most of the songs.

I prefer the normal version of Suteki Da Ne as opposed to the instrumental version.
I prefer the 6 minute version of 1000 Words, found only on Jade's album, as opposed to the X-2 shorter version.
I prefer the English version of Eyes on Me as opposed to the Japanese version.

And, more notable, I prefer the Black Mages version of Otherworld to the FFX one!!

I tend to like really dramatic and strong powerful gothic vocals, you know, chanting and singing, that dramatic opera feel that make you think of grand cathedrals.

I don't think that's Nobuo's style at all so I can't really find any particular favorite. I don't like One Winged Angel all that much either. I have to say, it seems like vocal music is not Nobuo's forte. He pales in comparison to another in my book.

I have to choose "Eyes on me" by Faye Wong(the english version). I love this song....Faye really knows how to sing. This song is excelent for relaxing after an annoying day at school.;)

I like Suteki da ne, Liberi Fatali and yeah Eyes on me is great, honestly when they show Laguna tears came to my eyes :( great ending sequence.

I may be forgetting a song... meh it'll come to me.

Suteki da ne. I love the way Rikki sang it and the melody is amazing. Eyes on me is a beautiful song, although I prefer the Angela Aki version, but anyway Faye Wong's version is amazing too.:)

for me the best is 1000 words and Kimi He from Yuna's vocal collection. I also like classics like Eyes on Me and Melodies of Life. if I'll rank them, it'd go like this

1) 1000 words (lyric-wise, instrumentation and relevance to the game's story)
2) Kimi He (It's Yuna's ballad! Mayuko Aoki has a lovely voice too. and even if I don't speak Jap, the emotion can be felt just by hearing)
3) Eyes On Me (actually I tend to like Melodies of Life better than this because of my love for FF9 but to be honest this song just sounds more magnificent to me)
4) Melodies of Life (a great classic from my favorite FF ever. Emiko Shiratori's voice sure reminds me of my most loved FF leading lady, Garnet. the instrumentation was great too especially in the middle part but I felt Faye Wong's singing in Eyes on Me is stronger than Emiko's. but still it's the first ever FF song I've heard and I LOVED it ever since.)

that's all. just my thoughts. ^_^

Melodies of Life has to be my favorite. It is so pretty and makes me want to cry sometimes.
