nah I usually never taken them, never needed too really. Its a point in the game which is quite easy so i didnt want to make things any simpler. On my first playthrough i robbed them dry though, i remember cloud the only one still alive and i had basically no gil at all..so it was too bad for them.

I always take them just to say I did xD
It's funny when ever you go there with Tifa in your party because she goes and says that Cloud's hair looks a chobobo's tail.
It's so cute and just plain for laughs xD

~Tifa~

i dont take them anymore, first time i played it i did, and i had tiffa and aeris with me and they lectured me about it, since then i dont take as i like to keep the ladies happy, although yuffie does tell me to take it and she's the hottest in my opinion

i guess i just cant please everybody

i always take them.it saves money and all that, exp and such.
do i feel guilty? sort of but its fun to do it over and over again to hear what they all say. and i agree with cloud's head looking like a chocobo tail

Not that I needed them, but I'm an EXP perfectionist, which means, EVERY monster in my path die, even if it means side-tracking. Works for decent pocket change and training for materia/limit breaks/Enemy Skill/etc. I always use Life, then Phoenix Downs, cuz that's a convenient way of conserving items.

Everyone may get clumsy once in a while, so items are a great failsafe. Get as many as you can~.

I have never taken the phoenix downs from the nest. If I did i could not live with my self literaly the birds are so cute and the other members will make you feel like crap for taking them m told. Please dont take them....

Of course I take them.

It saves me 2500gil, gets me experience and even more gil on the way back and as a result of the fight. There's no reason not to. ;D

I totally agree. xD

I always took them but there was one time where I didn't . . . . I just was messed up and forgot it. xD

dumb & dumber

I always took them, its not like you look at a chest and say "hey maybe someone else in the FF7 world will need this item more then me". Then just leave it for little reason at all. I say if it only helps to take them then take them. Don't give in to cute little 10001001, come on its just a computer animated bird.

I'm mean and I always go up there just to see them but I end up fighting their parents just for those 10 Phoenix Downs.I'm so heartless but I decided to not do it again. But I guess Cloud could adopt them, since his hair look like a chocobo,xDD.

I always take the phoenix downs because they are usefull and the items are expensive. So it is money saved. Yeah it is sad that momma bird dies, but hey in real life it happens also.

It's actually part of the Gold Saucer dating mechanic... You get points if Aerith, Tifa, Yuffie or even Barret is in your party (Yuffie and Barret are very hard to get that you would have to plan how to get that the start of the game (when you give a flower to Marlene) or the instant you recruit Yuffie)

... And of course, you lose points if you take it. I don't know if you can redo it over and over again to get more points... but... let's say you want a date with Tifa but not Aerith... just make sure that Tifa is with you and Aerith is not, take a peek at the nest... then leave it alone.... then switch the girls out and with Aerith, take the item and kill the parents.

You have the highest chance to get Aerith, then Tifa, Yuffie (rare) then Barret (very rare)

--- Trust me, this is NOT a rumor... I've done it myself and got Yuffie and Barret

I didn't know you could switch out the characters then try it O.O When I saw the birds this time, my own thoughts very much matched Barrets. (I like keeping things classic. My window color, my party, ect ect. so I always have Barret and Tifa with me)

"Ooooh! Hay baaaabyyyyyy!" :hiya:

Anyhow, I hate Aeries, and make an effort to never speak to the she-devil unless I'm forced to do so. I'll test what you just said now. Gonna feel bad for the baby chicks, but I'll feel better I'm less likely to be with Aeris at the Golden Saucer :grumpy:

Edit: I just checked it, and that's a negative. Cloud just jumps back down. Ah well. I got anti-Aeris points seeing she was still with Red at the time I left them.

I used to always take it. On the replay that I'm doing now, I left it alone. I feel really bad about it.

As far as I know, this scene has no effect on the Gold Saucer's Date Mechanics. There are sites with full listings on everything that offers points to the total value, and this one doesn't, no matter whose in your party. It can all be figured in mathematically, so I'm pretty sure it's something that's proven one way or another, and I don't think this does.

And on a side-note, unrelated to the topic: Yuffie's not that hard to get. All you have to do is get the conversation right until the very last option. That's an automatic 8 additional attraction points for every time you do it. So long as you don't screw up like I did and exploit the Tifa glitch in the Shinra building, you should be fine after like 4 times (more or less, depending on how you've treated the conversations so far).

Y'know, it's been a very long time since I've played that part of the game. But I do remember taking it once, and then leaving it another time. But that was years ago. And I don't AT ALL recall having to kill mama bird (???) does that happen immediately after you take the goods?

I took it once, then guilt ate away at me and I ended up restarting the game. Guess I just felt bad for the little birdies. Anyway, I'm not too sure if this affects who your date is in Gold Saucer. All I know is that the party gets mad at Cloud if you take it, and they seem happy when you leave it.

Take. Take take take take take. I'm not killing the little chickens, so why not? D= Their parents aren't exactly as cute as they are.

But, yeah, this part does give you an awesome quote to go with...one of my favorite quotes in the game, aside from Cid's little tea rant.
