This thread is for stratagies for all the bosses in FF I. In these stratagies, i'll be using the warrior, monk, white mage and black mage, and easy mode.

1) Garland: HP=106, Exp=130, Gil=250
This fight is easy. get to level 3-4 to make the fight even easier. just have your monk and warrior attack physically, your black mage use either fire or thunder, and your white mage use cure as needs be.

2) Pirates: HP=6 (each), Exp=40 (each), Gil=40 (each)
Even easier then Garland. your party should be level 6 or higher, and have brought the new wepons you can get in this town. simply have all your party members attack, and they'll be defeated in no time.

3) Astos: HP=168, Exp=2250, Gil=2000
This guy is easy, if you know what you're doing. have your black mage charge up your fighter and monk with haste and steel, and have them attack constantly. have your white mage be ready to cast cure1-2 at a moments notice. Be careful of the reaper spell, because if it hits, it's instant death for that character.

4) Vampire: HP=156, Exp=1200, Gil=2000
A piece of cake. is an undead boss, so have your white mage cast dia2, and your black mage cast fire2. instant victory.

5) Lich: HP=800, Exp=2200, Gil=3000
Have black mage cast haste and steel on fighter and monk, then cast fire2. white mage can cast dia2 if they get a chance, because their main job is to revive and cure dead chatacters. Watch out for spells such as ice2, fire2 etc.

6) Marilith: HP=1200, Exp=2475, Gil=3000
Uses loads of fire attacks, so if you have it, use nulfire. have everyone do their usual jobs from previous battles. although she uses fire spells, she isn't weak against ice.

7) Evil eye: HP=162, Exp=3225, Gil=3225
Whilst technically not a boss battle, it is still worth mentioning for two reasons. one, it knows all the spells in the game. two, it's the perfect leveling up monster for this part of the game, as you can gain loads of levels in a short amount of time.

8) Dragon zombie: HP=268, Exp=2331, Gil=999
See above for reason it's included.

9) kraken: HP=1600, Exp=4245, Gil=5000
After this point, i'm assuming that you've got the upgrades. Have your knight and master use the giant's glove to do extra damage, whilst the black wizard uses haste and bolt3 (he's weak to that), and the white wizard use shld2/invis2, so that you take less damage from his powerful physical attacks.

10) Blue dragon: HP=454, Exp=3274, Gil=2000
See 7) for why it's included

11) Tiamat: HP=2000, Exp=5496, Gil=6000
Have knights and masters use the giant's glove, then pound away. have the black wizard use haste then flare, and the white wizard keeps everyone healthy, whilst using holy if they've got a spare turn.

12) Lich: HP=1000, Exp=2000, Gil=1
Slightly stronger then before, but still easy. Uses flare on the first turn. after this, do the same thing you do in every boss battle. just be careful with your MP in these battles, as if you go out of the place, you'll have to fight these battles again, as they're set encounter points.

13) Marilith: HP=1400, Exp=2000, Gil=1
Even easier then before. Fire3 is her main attack, so use nulfire if you have it. Other then that, you know what to do by now.

14) Kracken: HP=1800, Exp=2000, Gil=1
Has lost weakness to bolt. Still has powerful attacks, so shld2/invis2 as before. apart from that, use the usial tactics.

15) Tiamat: HP=2200, Exp=2000, Gil=1
Same tactics as with other boss battles.

16) Chaos: HP=4000, Exp=0, Gil=0
Yay! the final boss! He has no weakness, and uses cure4 randomly to completely heal himself. if you hit him hard and fast with the usial tactics, then you'll beat him before he can use it too many times.

Well done. you've completed the game.

Any questions on any of the bosses, post here.

hehe, those r from the first version of FF I or?
I have played this game from Dawn Of Souls and i have every chara lvl 99 ;) There can put the side bosses of the game from elemental caves like Gilgamesh and Doom Train. but it is optional.
Oh and in Dawn Of Souls i found from the wind elemental place from 40th place a weapon called Ultima Weapon  thats cool weapon it hits a lot.
With power plus magic (tempest?) it hits like 3000!!! with me of course ^^

It's the remake for the PS1, where they added an easy mode to it. the one which they relieced with FFII

Thanks for the post. It should help those of us who can't handle things that easily. . . meaning those who didn't powerplay a bunch of Red Mages and decimate the bosses.

I wish they would add a hard or insane mode, it's too easy even on normal, well maybe exept for Choas but im still looking forward for a hard mode, but knowing they might as well never release it ever again ill be stuck with normal mode.

Hard mode is playing it without the Memo save and playing it with four white mage. I did that and boy did it take forever! The original FF on the NES was incredibly hard...not because of the bosses but because the dungeons were so long that preserving supplies was really difficult.

When playing with four white mages I recommend leveling up but more than that learning to use Shell a lot. Its culmitative so eventually the white mages will get to point that they take only minimal damage. Unforunately boss battles are gonna last a godawful long time as hitting for 1 point of damage is a pain in the ass. ><

Not a problem. ^_^

And yeah, four white mage challenge is mega-hard...but one white mage challenge is the equilvant of playing DMC3 blindfolded.

If you got questions on how to play the game with the white mages let me know. I did manage to beat the game after.
