He's definitely not my favorite character in the series but I really don't hate the guy. I think overall though he's easily in the running for most hated character. I think part of the reason was that he betrayed your group. He weaseled his way in, set you up, then stuck around after completely screwing you over. I also think that he was meant to be much more of a zany and whacky character but he never came across as that at all. I think that's why they gave him the scottish accent in Advent Children.

I just want to know why everyone hates him so much. Is it that you didn't get the character? You hate stuffed animals? Hate that he betrayed you? And is he your most hated-character?

Also, isn't it nice of me to mark this topic with "spoilers" even though the game was released a decade ago. Someone would have bitched if I didn't. They still might...

I actually really liked Cait Sith. I thought he was one of the more interesting characters in the game. He shows up under suspicious circumstances, but you think he's just going to be a goofy character. Then he betrays you! And none of the characters were really able to do anything about it and just went along with him. But he realizes that he would rather be part of Avalanch and sort of sacrifices himself for you. But since he's a robot another one can just come along. :) It was nice to have someone to spy on Shinra for you and he is the only character to point out the Barret that his terrorist attacks had infact killed thousands of people. And what's not to love about a stuffed cat that talks down to everyone?

Many people claim that he isn't any good for battle. His character is meant to be used for defense. He is very good if you go into an area where the enemies are tougher than your characters and just have cover materia on him. I also found him to be a good magic user. And I also like to brag that I used him to beat Ruby Weapon with out using KOTR.

Evan Though I Never Used Cait Sith To His Full Purpose And Protential, I Dont Really Hate Him As Such, I Just Dont Need Him To Be Honest ^_^

He was interesting and cool.
He only had 2 limit breaks, that why I never used him

i never really paid too much attention to him....i found i weird that cloud would let him travel with the gang for the reason that cait sith wants to know if his fortune comes true...umm ok i kno i wouldnt let a cat riding a giant mog travel with me for no reason..lol but beside that i never really hated the guy

So basically he was just a pointless character to you.
Without him how would we have gotten black materia?!

Sorry, a little angry...:O

The first time i played FF7 i loved him and he was one of my 3 main characters. I really loved using him for some reason. After that i stopped using him because his limit breaks werent good but i still loved him

I didn't have a problem with Cait Sith, I just never was attracted to him on the large scale. Sure it was a traiter, but was controlled by Reeve at the time. If anything, it was more annoying than most, but I really didn't see the annoying side of Cait Sith until I played Dirge of Cerberus.

Either way, I guess I'm just more apathetic about Cait Sith than anything.

I hate Cait Sith for the fact that

one: he has 2 limit breaks
two: betrayes your party
three: I don't like cats

But most importantly, I don't like the fact that it wasn't Reeve who joins your party instead of Cait Sith. I could've dealt with a human batraying the party, but when it's a cartoon type cat doing it, it kinda makes forgivable. It would've been better if Reeve directly betrayed you, then for the rest of the game he would've been able to try to redeem himself in the eyes of the rest of your party.

Besides, a stuffed cat is the only childish part of this game.

I don't hate him at all. Heh, actually at first, I thought Cait Sith was the white fluffy whatever it is thingy. So I found him cute. I was like 12 when I played that...really dumb and inept. >.< Anyway, even though Cait Sith betrayed the party, I didn't feel any animosity towards him. It was more like, "Ohhh...this is getting interesting."

Cait Sith is my most disliked FF VII character because

1) His limit Breaks
2) Shit fighter really, yes
3) Looks clumbsey

He's a fun character and all, I'll give him that, but it would have been better if he had more limit breaks and better stats.

I like Cait Sith and why you think his limit breaks are so bad? You can get very high dmg with Dice limit on disc 1 and its 1lv limit so cait sith need to be hit just few times to get the limit bar full and if you use more then there will be more dices. In the begginig you have only 2 but i remember i got like 7 or 8 (maybe 20lv = 2 dices 30lv = 3 dices 4lv = 4 dices.....) dices on disc 2 and it can easly hit for 9999. ) and Cait sith have a lot of HP and def so its not that bad character at all. In temple of the ancients he also wanted to fix his mistake and offer his life for getting the black materia. Then without him you wont even have one huge materia from reactors beacuse he gave all info about shinra. Next thing - he showed barret way to highwind and then they rescued Tifa beacuse of him. Next thing = he informs about Hojo who want to give all mako energy to sephiroth using sister ray in Midgar and show all way to that cannon on the end of disc 2. i think he have very important role in this game ! He gave all info about shinra to you and if you not know then Cait sith = Reeve from shinra who didnt want to destroy sector7 on beggining of game... and why is that bad he betrays party ? Turks came to the temple of ancients and then Tseng (leader of turks) must faced Sephiroth and got very bad wound. What if Cloud must face Sephiroth there ? he didnt have a chance to win there...

Hehe I start very heated threads. :D

I'm glad to see not as many people hate him as I thought. Although the ones that do really seem to hate him. And I agree with Mitsuki, I actually thought the ball of fluff was Cait Sith and that's part of why I liked him. I never really got that he was the cat.

Technically, you could say he does have more than two limit breaks. His slot combinations do different things. Rarely you get lucky and get the one that makes you automatically win the battle, and rarely you'll get the one that kills the enemy and your entire party.

I love Caith Sith i always side with the neko's plus in the movie i love the way he talks.

*Hugs a caith Sith doll* hes cuuute,he has the dice limit hes cute hes a cat and did i mention hes cute?

Cait Sith is my least favourite character from VII, but i don't hate him, and i don't see why lots of people do. Granted, he can be annoying, but that's what makes him appealing. Plus i loved his accent in AC

Why should you hate Cait Sith? He is fiction, after all! :P I actually liked him and grew to like him more in Dirge of Cerberus. Sure, I was mad at him betraying the group, but that's what games are about: giving a story with twists. I bet all of you were unexpecting it to happen, anyway. But I like Cait Sith, think he's cute and the Scottish accent just makes him even more adorable.

AT I know what you mean about the spoiler warnings...the game's over a century old, but 1/100 people haven't played it yet. lol.

I don't dislike Cait Sith, not at all. I use him quite frequently actually. I see plenty of people complaining about his bad limit break, but I actually loved his reels.
