I propose a discussion thread for the god chaos. Talk about his story, how to defeat him, with what characters and how to dodge divine punishment and scarlet rain etc.
I've found that you can easily PP and AP train against chaos if you put him to lv 1. If you put diamond ring and beckoning cat and stuff like that, it becomes even better. I've got 108 AP in 1 battle against chaos.
Normally, you can dodge Divine punishment if you stand still once he starts casting, then dodge at the right time before the flames come down. Normally you might hear the flame audio fade away to indicate you to dodge, but it also takes practice and good timing.
I finally beat him last night using Gabranth. Basicly all i did was just use bravery attacks until Chaos uses a HP attack. When he does i then go into EX Mode to block the attack and i just do dual rend which hits him against the wall then i spin backwards and do dual rend again. I repeated this until i had 9999 bravery then i did hatred (Innocence takes too long and Chaos will do divine punishment).
Also to avoid devine punishment you just have to time it right and dodge just before the sword comes down. Or attack him just as he starts casting it.
he is the most mind-numbingly difficult boss i've ever faced on my psp. i'm very glad his voice actor does such a good job with him, i would have hated his guts otherwise.
in case anyone doesn't know: chaos and cosmos were once on good terms and ruled equally, but something tipped the balance. that's all i know.
I absolutely hate fighting Chaos on Inward Chaos, he is a very tough cookie to crack (makes akuma look like a fluffy puppy in comparison)
I've currently got beating him on the lunar whale course down to an art form with Terra and Gabranth, when I fight him on inward Chaos however he always cheaps out on me, grows massive and gives me a terrible to escape from radius on his hp attack. I'll get him...its just going to take a LOT of luck
I've found a tactic with WoL. If you just keep using that aerial thing that hits a lot of times and then chases (can chain into bitter end) he'll get wall rushed and you can keeprepeating that move and chasing to the wall rush until you decide to kill. It generally works.
Hes actually pretty easy to beat...i mean if you got your character up to level 100 then you know... Anyway, if you got a character thats only at like level 50 or something, then bust out as many bravery attacks as possible, then, when your bravery is larger than his hp, ATTACK!!! Oh, and you gotta dodge ALOT to make sure you dont die with 1 hit. Also, make sure you got a full ex gage when you start the battle just to be on the safe side
