Need to convert to your device's format, unless you use Codebreaker or Swap Magic Coder.

The only side effects I've found are that you can't use Yojimbo or Magus Sisters with this code active (they will do nothing whenever you use any command other than Dismiss), and that enemy counterattacks are disabled. (Not sure about Counterattack or Evade & Counter weapons as I haven't tested them)
 
It includes everything that counts as an enemy, so long as it gets turns. You name it, you can control it: Sinspawn Ammes, Qactuar, Great Malboro, Penance, Nemesis, Dark Valefor, Seymour Flux, Braska's Final Aeon, Yu Pagoda... heck, I *think* you should even be able to control Cid (in the battle against Evrae) with this, although I haven't tried it.
EDIT: I have now, and indeed you can control him. However, you can only make him fire the missiles, not move the ship closer or futher away.

However, that code is only for the European versions (it should work with all languages, I know for sure that it works with the English and Spanish releases). I do however have codes for the other versions:

International: 00316F9A 00000001
American: 0031414A 00000001

Please note that the American version code IS NOT TESTED, so I cannot confirm that it will work. However, the International code IS tested and works fine.

No point using this cheat to be honest. Okay some fights are hard but if you put the time in to train like all FF games require you to.. then they are rewarding to you. Some of the best feelings from an FF game is beating a hard boss with ease without cheats.

These sort of cheats take the soul out of the FF game.

The point of it isn't to make the game easier. It's so you can have fun messing around with the enemies. For example, who can honestly say they've never wanted to see Shinryu use Eraser on himself? With this code, you can make him do just that.
 
I hate it when people automatically assume that cheats were made to play the game on ezmode.

To each his own, I suppose. It's really nothing to look down upon, 'cheats' are used for a lot of different things.

For example, a user on CMP (Codemaster Project) compiled a guide of their 'cheats' for Tales of the Abyss, which range anywhere from obtaining any equipment you like to which characters you can play.

Most of the time I use 'cheats' to play as Asch, whom would otherwise be unplayable, save the brief moments you do get to play as Asch instead of Luke.

It's also somewhat ironic because most people who complain about players ruining their own gameplay experience usually have learned that turning on all 135 of them makes the game fun for 3 minutes and usually only leave the infinite money cheat on. >_>

I like to have infinite purchasable consumables kthx >_>
 
But this cheat code IS used for making the game easier - it takes the fighting pretty much completly out of the game.

Why ruin a great game with cheats.. Okay i accept some are useful like locations of destruction spheres etc.. requirements for celestrial weapons etc..


But to take control of the enemy and make them attack themselves or stop a powerful boss using a spell.. Its just stupid and pointless and takes all the effort and fun out of the game as you can do whatever you want. If the creators intended the enemy to be controlled by you the Fight Menu wouldn't be anything what it is.
 
You know, you can always just use that little device known as the reset button and do it the proper way round. Like he said, it's just for a bit of fun, I'd like to play with the bosses for abit, till the novelty wore off, but I know I can still reset the game and do it again. If I could do i t on KH2, I think Id repeatedly make Xaldin kick his own arse ¬¬

Plus the monster arena battles are infinite anyway

AND for someone liek me, who is farming dark matters or specific spheres, Id probably see it as a godsend. fighting the same enemy over and over and over again for fiortune spheres is no fun

Also, no ones telling you you have to cheat, your arm isnt being twisted, you can choose NOT too

There will always be cheats - for the record I never have- like it or lump it ¬¬
