Cid

What about in FFXII where there were 2 cid's?

Al-Cid and Cid? lmao.

I didn't notice a biggs and wedge in FFXII though. >__<;; Awh.

But, Cid is a trademark character of the FF series. Along with Chocobos and Moogles. lol.

Al-Cid, boy that guy done my head right in, think they named him it just so they had a good guy called "Cid." He was completely pointless to be honest, I really dislike him lol.

I don't really know what it is that made them decide to put a Cid in every Final Fantasy, maybe they did it as one of them things that say "This is Final Fantasy."

Also, Cid's debut was in FFII and he has been in every Final Fantasy since, BUT, he was mentioned in FFI as the man who created the airship.

Also, summons first appeared in FFIII along with moogles.

How about this for a reason? The final fantasy games dont really have much in common. They mostly exist in similar worlds, with either a medieval or industrial setting, and sometimes both, but apart from that there isnt really much to tie them together. Its sort of fullfilling to have a common link, reoccuring themes, and i think Cid, like chocobo's and moogles, is that. If you are going to have re occuring modes of transport, like Airships, then why not have a single name to represent them? If you are going to have a background character who doesnt really make a huge dent in the plot, a pilot, engineer etc, why not? Or perhaps one of the original creators had a huge passion for air travel, and wanted to make a lasting monument to that. I dont really know lol but i hope they keep it up. I didnt like th Cid(s) in FFXII, didnt see th point in either of them tbh
