I have been following this movie for a while and even though I think it might be a big disappointment, I'm still hoping for good things for this movie.

All I know it's about a monster attack in New York City and it's done in a way like the "Blair Witch Project". I have seen other screen shots and they look very good quality but I'm really hoping that it's good quality, and they at least show the monster since I heard rumors that they don't.

Cloverfields only the working title isn't it? I saw the trailer for it when i saw Transformers, and it looks...amazing. I'll go see it when it comes out, and i'll try to avoid getting myself hyped up over it so i can't be dissapointed if it's bad. I don't think it will be though xD

It comes out January 18th I believe. I saw the new trailer for it when I saw Beowolf and I was excited. I saw the other trailer the one that came out with Transformers on youtube a while back, but the new trailer has the title as "Cloverfield"

Apparently the title Cloverfield is a working title - meaning it's going to change, kinda like Return of the Jedi was called Blue Harvest while he was filiming it.

It looks amazing, and i wonder what the monster could be - they've denied all rumours that it's a Godzilla remake.

I actually first found it looking for a trailer or anything for Godzilla 2, and I thought it was a sequel to Godzilla but since Toho isn't involved it couldn't be a Godzilla film

There's a lot of Godzilla with tons of different plots and characters so I think you could very easily be wrong there.

Toho still owns all rights to Godzilla, so they couldn't call the monster Godzilla without getting permission from Toho first. Even the Godzilla movie in 98 had to get permission from Toho, which is how I knew this wasn't a Godzilla movie.

They've done a clever job of marketing the film so far with the trailers and all, I'm just a bit worried that all the teasers are hiding what may end up being just another generic 'monster movie'. I am curious as to see what the monster in question is though. And it can't be any worse than that 1998 US remake of Godzilla!

I was actually surprised on how popular the trailer for the movie was. I think it was like most watched on imdb this week, and I'm pretty sure that it was also top 5 for quicktime site.

But yeah, I'm worried it's going to be something like the 1998 Godzilla which great graphics for 1998, but horrible plot and acting. You can't really tell too much from trailers either because they can't be very reliable since you get only a 2 min sneak peak at it. Yes it may seem also, but they might have chose only the greatest parts of the movie.

I've looked around and seen a lot of things about what the monster could be.

When I first saw the trailer I thought it was going to be something about Gears of War. But the fact that the statue of librity has a piece 'thrown' across the city leaves me with doubts on that one. At the same time though one scene reminds me a lot of some of the monsters from Gears of War... and I did hear they were making a movie of it...

But really I am more convinced it will be a monster movie that will turn out disappointing. I think more people will be going to see it to find out what the monster is than to see the movie plot. It'll still sell a bunch of tickets though, and thus would serve its purpose as a movie (to the makers). Even if it does blow.

I've been hearing a lot of rumors that the monster was thought up in the show 'Heroes' but I really don't think so since no one from Heroes is in the movie, but the pic of the monster that I've seen in Heroes and the little bit of it that you catch in one of the trailers do have similarities.

Seent his advertised whenI seen I Am Legend and I was very imprssed. I thought of Godzilla due to the claws on the Statue of Liberty on the movie poster.

I just saw a commercial for it tonight during 'American Gladiators', my interest is definitely high for this movie. I saw the head of the Statue of Liberty sliding down the road in one shot.

I saw a concept art, I think done by a fan, or what the monster is supposed to look like, though there is no evidence it's really what the monster is going to look like. But, I will say that it reminded me of Sin from FFX.

I was looking through pictures on the movie and came across this...

I think that their are going to be other creatures in the movie with the big one of course. They are holding the door against something, and see Beth's arm? Scratches from something. I don't it will be pretty interesting. There is also a part in one of the trailers where they hear something (kind of like a drawn out clicking kind of noise) that sounds alive, and not like the big creature at all.

It looks like it will be pretty good, I just wish they would release more information about it. I hope it's more original than some of the other generic monster-invasion movies out there.

I have recently come upon the info that the director has announced that this movie is like none that has ever been on the big screen before. The subject matter is completely brand new to major cinema.

So, we're talking something along the lines of H.P. Lovecraft on the big screen.

I've got 2 words.

HELL! YEAH!

I want to see this movie so much!!! I will CAMP outside the theatre to be in and get a good seat in time. This one looks like it'll be popular!

I just saw this movie last weekend.

Oh.

My.

Gawd.

It was awesome!!!!!! The way it was made was very good, even if it is from handheld camera view (like the Blair Witch Project). It only made it more intense!

I won't spoil it for you, but Lovecraft is DEFINITELY present in this movie. You'll see what I mean specifically when you watch it! It was just plain awesome!

Oh man. I just saw Cloverfield today and I've just got to say that this movie was just all kinds of awesome. I don't want to spoil anything cuz that'll just ruin the experience. I just gotta say that you will like this movie even if you don't like horror or monster movies. I also think that this is the type of movie that should definitely be watched in a movie theater.
