Coffee/Caffeine

I only recently started drinking coffee. I like it, but I don't drink it for the caffeine. If I'm looking for a boost in caffeine, I usually grab a Rockstar Punched energy drink. It's the only energy drink I can stand. The rest taste like carbonated urine...

I drink coffee in the morning only. Drink 2 cups before I start my day. I used to drink a lot more. But doctor told me to cut it down. I love my coffee.

I never liked coffee but I am a fan of Monster Energy Drinks. I usually have 1 per week. I drink it when I'm busy at work on Saturdays. I usually buy the big 24 pack cases so that way I don't always have to go to the store, plus it saves me money.

i usually have a Rockstar or a Red-Bull when i wake up(just to get me goin 4 the rest of the day) then i usually have at least 2-3 cups of regular coffee(no sugar added) on a regular day.

My caffeine intake is as followed on the weekdays if I didn't drink the night prior I make a pot off coffee and while that is brewing I make a cup of irish breakfast tea with non fat milk and honey. Then a few more cups of coffee till lunch time. Then I drink a red around 3'ish.

On the mornings when I drink the night prior I start my day with 2 red bulls in the morning (one at 6am and another around 10) and then I drink a red bull around 1pm then another around 4pm.

I think I am keyed up enough without any caffeine intake. :P Besides, I have tried pop, coffee, tea and hot chocolate, both at a hot and cool temperature, and the result was that I hated the warm drinks, and even the chilled hot chocolate, and the pop...well, I don't like the bite to it, and it is very fizzy. Oh, and unhealthy.

So yeah, that about sums it up. Does that work for ya'll, or anyone still have any questions on it? I'm open to them. :monster:

It usually depends on my mood but i mostly buy Red Bull and have 1-3 bottles a day. if i buy Iced coffee then the bottles usually empty by the next morning (1.25Lt)....

Lol i drink alot, yet i still feel sleepy,

I drink coffee like... constantly. I make it at home, I buy it when I'm out, and I love trying different flavors of it :lew: If there was a Starbucks here, I'd be so much more broke than I already am. I looove Frappuccinos so much. Vanilla bean, preferably, but others work too. McDonald's coffee is actually quite nice too. I use that as my Starbucks substitute. :sad3:

I also drink a fair bit of soda, reaaaally can't be healthy for me but eh. Mountain Dew, generally. Pepsi tastes funny unless it's diet, same for Coke.

As much as I love coffee, I tend to save it to be a treat for when I'm out and about and can spare some time to sit back in a café with some friends or relatives and just relax. Or when the day is hectic and I need to a boost of energy.

Absolutely hate coffee. I just cant understand why people have such addiction and love for the rank stuff. Its vile
Tea i dont really mind. Ive only had probadly like 3 cups of tea in my entire life but i didnt think it was horrible i would just rather have diluting juice or an irn bru tbh. Or even water.

Coffee.

In the days of my youth, I never bothered drinking the stuff. Any trip to Starbucks would inevitably give me an upset stomach, so I eventually just decided that coffee was not for me.

Then I became a teacher.

As if some innate response mechanism was switched on, I finally decided I would bite the bullet and get used to not just coffee, but the mother of all coffees...

BLACK COFFEE.

Now I'm chucking down 3-4 cups a day minimum. It's the best way to start a workday.

What are your thoughts? Do you drink? How do you take it? Comments on the issue of caffeine addiction?

SHARE.

I actually drink about 3-4 cups of black myself, and I love it.

I love the stuff.

I'm srta on the same wavelength as you Ness, never used to like the stuff then all of a sudden//Bam. I got addicted.
For YEARS I was a tea person...But now I'm pure coffeeholic
It is a good wakeup drug. Sorta like Relentless.

I dont Drink Coffee Personally(does that exclude me from posting?) but I do like the smell
and on the odd occasion will dip a biscuit in someones coffee to get a differing taste from Tea.

Apparently i make good coffee aswell:wacky: considering in my life I have never drank a full cup, it could just be people being nice and too lazy to get up and make there own they will drink any old Swill:lew:

Not my thing really, the smell is great, my girlfriend has got me doing the whole herbal tea thing I just [;ay along:ryan:.

I'm debating with myself if I have an addiction to caffeine yet or not. Let's see, if I had coffee grinds, cream, and sugar at home, I could have 4 cups of coffee a day (I once had 7). Without any of those ingredients, I'm either not drinking it at all at home or having coffee not as good as it used to be - and I'm stuck hoping nearly everyday that someone will have enough kindness in their heart to take me to Starbucks; whether in the morning or at night . :wacky: And I practically have enough money in my Gold Member gift card to buy the whole store.

So it's all this that I've come to the conclusion that. . .yes, I'm addicted. I practically breathe coffee . :gonk:

Did I already post in here? Who knows, but I feel obligated due to my name.

I drink about a cup a day that usually starts when I take my first morning class. I picked it up back a couple of years ago during a summer internship I had. We had this departmental meeting that lasted about an hour and I fell asleep after the first 15 mins or so. My mentor decided to let me sleep and woke me up 45 mins later (wtf dude). Anyhow he told me to get some coffee so that I wouldn't do that again. Since then it's just been a habit of mine to drink coffee in the morning so I don't fall asleep.

But I'm sure I'm not addicted since when I go on two week trips during my breaks, I can just kick the habit cold turkey. I don't even know if the caffeine has much of an effect on me anymore but I like the taste of it anyway.

My fav is....black drip coffee. I have no favorite brand and usually just by a small drip coffee from local coffee shops on my way to class. But I do know that folgers tastes like shit. "The best part of waking up is Folgers in my cuuuuuup." What a load of crap.

I used to love coffee with milk but haven't enjoyed it for months now. However, I do love mochas and tea! Caramel iced teas are very nice too, but I tend to avoid drinking calories. I'd much rather eat them! ;)

I'm probably an addict to coffee now.

I didn't used to drink it much unless it was essay / exam time... Now I drink it almost every day, and recently quite a few cups of coffee a day. It's not the best thing for me, and it does send me quite mad. I just need it (or perceive my need for it) to be able to focus my thoughts more clearly on whatever it is that I am doing.

It might have had a hand in my recent struggles to sleep, however. :sad2:

EDIT:
As to what sort of coffee I take... If I'm buying a coffee from a coffee shop then I tend to always have a cappuccino. If I'm making one myself then I either have it black, or with only a tiny amount of milk. I never have it with sugar.

Yeah coffee is great. It doesn't matter if it's hot or cold, I'll enjoy it. Same rules apply for tea. I had my first cup of coffee about 6 years ago. I don't drink it much though.
