C O N T I N U E _ T H E _ B I R T H W E E K _ C A R D _ C O M P E T I T I O N !
It's that time of year again, when we all get together with hats and confetti to celebrate another year of Final Fantasy Forums!
…What's that? You don't celebrate with hats and confetti? Shoot, me neither, but where's the fun in that? So this year being a special year, it's time for the return of everyone's favorite ode to the community we all know and love: writing a Birthweek card for the FFF together, one line at a time!
So here's how it's going down: the Birthweek card will officially begin with the line at the bottom of this post. After that, members can contribute only one additional line to the poem at a time. What should the poem be about? Anything to do with the FFF! Compliment a member for their contributions or make a friendly joke about them, work in a sentimental note about what the community means to you or a subtle jab at that person that always gets on your nerves! …Wait, don't do that last part. Seriously. (Unless it's all in good fun.) Keep in mind this is a Birthweek card, not a story. And that means the subject of this event is… well, you! A forum is nothing without members, and at the end of the day, it's everyone who visits the site that makes the community what it is and has been for the past 12 (!!) years.
Here's the obligatory rules and details:
Prizes will be handed out as follows:

A forum is nothing without members, and at the end of the day, it's everyone who visits the site that makes the community what it is and has been for the past 12 (!!) years.
Here's the obligatory rules and details:
- We're writing a Birthweek card poem! The event officially begins with the pre-set line below, following which other members can contribute only one additional line at a time.
- New lines must rhyme (silly/imperfect rhymes are allowed, but keep it as close as possible. Need rhyming help? Try an online rhyming dictionary!).
- Members can (and are encouraged to!) contribute more than one line, but double posting lines is not allowed--at least one member must post in between two of your posts.
- The poem should be an 'ode' to the FFF on the whole, and that means the community! It is encouraged to mention members whether complimenting them or making a friendly joke, but lines that do not reference a member in some way are fine, too. For example: if the latest line is "Roses are red, violets are blue," the following line can be "And since he's an admin, @Dionysos is too!"
- As much as possible, each new line must logically connect with the previous line. If the train of thought has reached the end of a paragraph, then it is acceptable to start a new topic, as this is grammatically logical.
- Keep discussion in this thread to a minimum! All posts must contain an addition to the poem, but a comment or two in parentheses is ok. No derailing the thread!
- Keep it clean (no sexual references, gross humor, extreme violence, etc).
- Keep it civil! This is not an outlet to vent your grievances with other members. Remember the golden rule!
- The event will officially end at midnight, June 23, CST. Click here for a clock of CST time.
- At that time, the last person to have posted a qualifying entry to the poem wins! Posts dated later than the established cutoff will not be counted for the winnings (but the poem can continue regardless for as long as members wish to keep adding to it)!
Prizes will be handed out as follows:
- The last person to post a qualifying entry will receive 5 BWP
- The second to last person will receive 3 BWP
- The third to last person will receive 2 BWP
- Everyone who contributes at least one line to the poem before the cutoff date gets 1 BWP for participating. This prize is per-user, not per-post.
