Dark Knight

I think it's been stated that Robin won't be in it and really I personally don't want him to appear in it anyway, I'd prefer it to focus just on Batman. Nolan doesn't want to use previous villians because their cheesy (Noaln would have his own vision of characters if he needs to change them), it's just he wants to bring someone new to the big screen.

Yeah... both Nolan and Bale have said they would never do a movie with Robin.

The Dark Knight is certainly the must-see movie of the year...

I watched it last weekend and man, it was a superb improvement on the events of the earlier movie (Batman Begins)... Heath was excellent as The Joker and Christian is always the most perfect guy to play Batman... Aaron Eckhard also portrayed a far better version of Harvey Dent / Two-Face than Tommy Lee Jones (his make-up on the burnt side of the face was just amazing!)...

And it was good to see Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) getting more screen time this time around... At least he is now something like a main character compared with Batman Begins... The same goes for Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman)!

I haven't seen it yet, would like to. I realise "they" ALWAYS make a big deal out of new films, but I honestly believe if Heath Ledger was still alive they wouldn't be making such a big deal out of this one. I like Batman, personally I preferred Keaton as Batman, but there you go.

I'd be interested to hear opinions from people who have seen it to see whether it's a cinema job or if it's a case of just wait till it comes out on DVD.

I was thinking the same before I seen it but now I have to say that if Heath Ledger doesn’t get a Oscar, what the hell do you get them for!

And as for dvd vs cinema, the winner is Imax. Some of the screens where filmed with an Imax camera and it is just fantastic! I went into this movie expecting a disappointment and boy was I wrong. This movie is definitely in my favourite movies of all time list with Heath Ledger as my favourite villain

The difference being is this film basically lives up to the hype unlike other big sequels of recent times. And Ledger's death makes no difference on how great a performance he gave, we'll need to see whether he'll win an Oscar but I think he'll get the nomination for it.

I just saw the movie last night and I was completely blown away! I was really looking more forward to Heath Ledger's acting, and he did indeed do an excellent job with his role. Very convincing, I must say. I was actually confused on some parts, but I'd rather not mention them because one of them is a MAJOR spoiler. I don't even wanna use the spoiler tags for it just in case someone happens to hover over it and read the spoiler. I guess I'll go look around other forums for answers. xD

But anyway, I wanna see this movie again. Christian Bale was awesome, but The Joker really captivated me the most throughout the movie.

i have finnaly persuaded a group of mates to come see this so we are going at alf 8 tomoro *dances* its gunna be great

Batman rumor,

HOLLYWOOD - Johnny Depp is tipped to play Batman villain The Riddler in the next installment of the comic book movie series.

After the huge success of The Dark Knight, which has taken $440 million at the worldwide box office, producers are confident they can convince Depp to take on Christian Bale's Batman on the big screen.

And, according to the National Enquirer, studio bosses also want Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman onboard to play another of the Caped Crusader's arch-foe, the Penguin.

The Riddler was played on the small screen in the 1960s by Frank Gorshin and in 1995 movie Batman Forever by Jim Carrey. Hoffman would be stepping into the shoes of TV and movie Penguins Burgess Meredith and Danny DeVito.

A source tells the Enquirer, "(Producers) are convinced that the role of the Riddler is perfect for Depp. Johnny's a pro. He'll be able to take direction from director Chris Nolan and still make the character his own.

"And what better Penguin is there than Philip Seymour Hoffman."

I wouldn't look too much into this atm, everyone (incliding Depp himself) was tipped to The Joker in TDK and they ended up going with a surprise choice. I'd expect that would happen again over Depp being The Riddler.

That's precisely why I called it the latest "Rumor". I wouldn't even have mentioned it if I had just heard of it on the internet though. I found out by watching T.V on the entertainment news, so that's the reason I payed any mind to it.
Depp has been rumored for many films atm, including Sin City. So with him, everything is all guess work. PSH though seems like a great addition to the series.

Forgot to post my thoughts. :gasp:

I loved this movie, i was so freaked out from the Joker. He was absolutely crazy, played an amazing part. That magic trick was awesome ^_^.

When I first saw that lawer guy (forgot his name) flipped the coin, i knew he was going to be 2-face. The effects/or makeup on his face where awesome. So much better then when in the old movies, he just had a purple face, in this one you could see his eye pop out and bones and all.

4/5. It went for a bit too long. -__-

I saw it tonight, and it was an amazing film, The Joker was by far the best character, and it really lived up to the hype.

Although I was totally confused by how
Commissioner Gordon was still alive? He got shot, and then they buried him, but then he came back? I didn't get it, since we saw him die! Although it was a fantastic plot twist!

I just wonder if they make a third movie, how they'd top this one.

Well,

I kinda thought that he was wearing a bullet proof vest, faked his own death and everyone was in on it, other then the Batman and Twoface (can't remeber his name :gasp:) then at the right time he popped up.

i saw it yesterday, although i was really aprehensive because i was always scared of the old joker so becasue my bro works at the cinema i got a sneek peek then watched it the day after and the joker was my fav character, what was also great was the fact that i got in for free =] but one hell of a great movie even if it was 2 and a half hours long and i had the really big drink

Seen it twice now, shocking lol! i need to see it more. I first seen it on IMAX and got a bad neck as i was sat right at the damn front. So good excuse to see it for a second time. I truly love it, Heath Ledger was amazing as Joker and made me fall in love with him all over again. Two Face was super aswell, it was such an emotional film. Christian Bale however is not a wow factor for me. I like him as Bruce Wayne, but not Batman himself. Towards the end I couldnt understand what he was saying and it sounded as if he had a sore throat!

there is only one word to describe this film......WOW i couldnt believe how truly awesome this film was i went with my friend who is a huge fan of the batamans it was his third time wacthing it, even though i was dying for a p*** i couldnt get out of my seat and miss a second of this film a really enjoyed it. Thinking about watching it again soon like
