I already killed the Demon Wall that needs to be killed in order to progress through the rest of the game but I want to kill the first Demon Wall because apparently I can get some sort of powerful weapon once I've killed it, it opens a bridge or something.

But like seriously this has got to be the hardest boss ever! If I didn't have a time limit this boss would be no big deal but its the fact I have like 2 minutes or something to kill him. I'm probably under leveled again all my characters are on level 18 apart from Penelo who is on level 13, and Balthier who is on level 14, but I don't really care about them 2 I never use them.

I'm thinking maybe I should level up to about level 20 or something and come back and try it again, but I really wish there was an easier way to kill it so I didn't have to go out and train more to kill it.

Anyways my question is, have you guys got any tips you could lend me to help me kill this boss? :)

If you are level 18 or higher and have 3 characters good with ranged weapons you should have little problems with them. I went in at level 19 with 2 gun users and 1 sword user. it took only a moment for the sword user to die while the others managed to kill it.

Hope this helps

ok what I did is went back to lhusu mines and fought the skeletons on that bridge. A lot of them spawn there. I did that until I had all the quickenings for each character. That helps a lot. You'll be at a good level, and you will be able to hit him real hard. The trick is start with three characters and perform a quickening. When your done if no one has any MP left, switch one for one that has MP. Use a quickening with the character that has the MP to do so. You can chain with all three characters again even the ones that didn't have MP. So you got a max of 4 tries with quickenings. Just keep switching only 1 character with 1 that has MP to do a quickening.

I did it before to get that sword but after I killed the demon walls, the sword never appeared and I gave up on it. Got one later in a later area.

My personal advice is get to around level twenty and use the old reflect strategy, and incase you dont know what that is ill elaborate, Cast reflect on all of your characters and then bounce the spells off yourself this works because he starts off with haste and reflect and any magic you use hits you in the face [ouch lol] i recommend using aero on your party after using refect its an area spell therefore it will hit all your characters hitting him 4 time, and if you use this strategy cancel your magic healing gambits or youll heal the demonwall i hope this helps :auron:

I used quickenings, I think I was about level 20 ish when I went in, nothing special on my set up/weapons etc, just quickening'ed him to death - just make sure you get a few good chains and try to do a bit of damage to him before you go at him with the quickenings. I think you can stop it with thelantern thingies to the sides of him as well...? :hmmm:

na thats the second on..... dude all there is to it is just spam ya quickenings and if hes stil alive range the shit out o' him
i kiilled it cause i was bored .. didnt even no u could get a sword... mite look that up

this match can be made alot easier by using the flames that line each side of the walkway that you are on, if you stand by on of them and examine it, you get given the chance totouch the brazier. Once you have touched it, if the flame goes out then the Demon wall will be temporarily stuck in place, BUT if the flame goes bluethe wall speeds up so you gotta find another flame (usually opposite the one you just touched) and press that one to stop it. Do not fear, the chance of the flame going out is like 6 out of 8 times or something like that, so the odds are that you will stop it.

also, if you save your quickenings for when it has like 20% HP left then it makes it easier, i tend to beat it down until it either reaches 20% Hp, or i get to close to the back wall for my liking and pray i get a big chain.

I also used Quickenings. Just stick with the lowest-costing ones, which let your chain last longer, which can give you a Concurrence. Chains of about 10 should weaken him sufficiently.

Almost word for word with the official guide. ^_^ (yeah, I checked it myself to make giving an answer easier :P)

As for what people have said, Quickening chains at the beginning of the fight are quite a good idea, because as the battle goes on, you may lose party members to his "Telega" spell, which will banish someone to the "X Zone" until the battle finishes. So the chain at the start ensures that everyone will get their shot in. Gambit "foe - nearest visible" works better than "party leaders target" because your party will continue to attack should your PL die or get put to sleep.

Use the switches to slow him down, and just attack and heal. Could very well be better to stock up on eye drops and alarm clocks, so if someone is blinded or put to sleep after you've used your quickenings, you'll be able to to heal it, instead of waiting for your MP to come back, unless you have ethers.

EDIT: The sword is the Demonsbane, extremely powerful for this stage of the game. If you want to make the effort, you can get as many as you want. Go to the chest, get one, go back 3 map screens, then return, the chest should respawn, allowing you another chance to get the sword. If you don't get it first time, don't worry, it's there. You just need to do what I said about going back three screens.

Hey if ur still on that part of the game the easiest way to kill him is to activate the torches. Okay there are four sets of torches. Six of the eight torches go out when you activate them. if one goes out the wall stops dead in its tracks. If it turns blue then it actually speeds up.
good luck!
