Hey, did anyone here have trouble beating the demon wall in the temlpe of the ancients,
i found him marginally difficult because i never have aeris in my team so when i was fighting him she had like 700 HP and hardly any slots for materia.
and who thought that the dragon was hard because after casting Bio2 on him he was easy to beat .:P

Well I didn't really have trouble with him as my characters were all within level 34-37. Just have one person dedicated to healing, and the other two just attack, oh and btw, summon Odin, it did about 2200 damage to demon wall.

And with that dragon that you fight before demon wall, I killed him with one hit, using Clouds Meteorite limit break.

There is actually a very easy solution to the Demon's Wall; Cast Float on your party members. If I remember correctly (which isn't assured), it is an Earth based boss, and thus a few of its attacks can be neutralized if you cast float. I remember doing this, and it made things much easier.

As for the Red Dragon, yet again, more easy solutions. Give your best character, probably Cloud, an armor set up that will absorb, or at least weaken fire based attacks. This will neutralize its "Flamethrower" and things of that nature. Bio2 helps as well.

Sorry those strategies are a bit off. I haven't played FFVII in years, and thus do not remember the specifics of each one.

useful tip, the attacks that come from the roof of the room are range based, putting your characters in the back row with "long range" materia makes the damage they do reduce from 1300 to about 650

I dont think ff7 had a float spell. But what i finds good too kill the demon wall is Red XIII's limit stardust ray it takes off a faire bit and when used at the right time can kill the demon wall before it does it too you.
Other tip is keep Aeris healing and casting all protect/cure spells when needed dont use the all healing spells up too quick. If your stil struglling equip everyone with healing magic linked too an all materia.

The most effective way was to un-equip all of your materia, except for Cure paired with an All, and Bahamut. That way all of your physical stats increased along with your maximum HP. Not being able to use magic wasn't a loss because Demon Wall has a high magic defense. Problem solved. :monster:

thats what i ended up doing

hiya dude the wall for me was hard at first because my guys were bout lvl 10-20 but i had climhazard which helped and i used aeris and spent lots of money on her "bad idea" but it was easier than the dragon i reckon

I always breeze through this game until I get to that part. For some reason I always go into the Temple of the Ancients way underleveled. I'm not really sure why. And then when I go to leave, I get stuck in that damn battle. Literally it'll kill me 5-10 times before I can scrap together some feasible plan that works well enough to survive him. Usually my whole party is down, all my summons are used up, and whomever is left is looking pretty damn beat up...

It's never been a good fight for me.

If your worried that Aerith doesn't have enough slots for materia you can find her ultimate weapon - Princess Guard - in the Temple itself, in room 4 or 6 (i think) in the Clock room ^_^ so that should solve your Materia slot problem.

Make sure you have 1 character dedicated to Healing - most likely Aerith, Cloud and Barret are good choices as team members too, as they can deal powerful physical attacks while Aerith heals and attacks Magically.

i found out that if you attack the demon wall magically he counters it by dropping a big rock on your head takeing like 1300-1400 off you so it is easier to kill him physically

Before I entered the room where the demon's gate was, I made Aerith's limit bar full and her limit break at that time was Planet Protector, so when I fought the demon, I used Planet Protector to make my party invisible for a time then I let Aerith cast Bahamut, and the rest were physical attacks. It was cool 'cause all the demon's attacks didn't damage my party even a bit.

sounds like a plan :)
Still can't believe no-one else tried my plan, which has never failed to date

In my opinion the Demon Wall was the hardest boss in the game. The last time I played through it, that boss was the only part I actually died on. I think it is harder than Sephiroth unless you've been grinding before it(which I never do).

Almost everyone I talked to had trouble with this Boss in the game. I beat it on my first try and never had any trouble trying to take it down. I hit him with a few good hits early on and never looked back.

This was definately one of the hardest bosses in the game. It was just so bloody powerful. However, after the initial bouts with it I developed the strategy to get Aeris the Planet Protector Limit Break so as to make my part invisible.

I had trouble with this boss the first time. -_- I died a couple of times. I usually have at least two people with cure materia. I have a back up healer, just in case the person with the cure materia dies.

Gah, wall monsters in FF are always hard.

thanks alot people i have killed him and am now at the end of the game, im just tryin to get my characters to max stats coz i prefer fightin the last sephiroth with max stats
