Demon wall

I really dont know i only used one meteor rain on him and he was dead taddaaaa.

From what I remember, limit breaks really didn't have that much of an impact on the enemy. Nothing did. That was the problem. He didn't have an incredibly high HP but only high level summons did any real damage. Maybe limit breaks did do damage and I just never had any built up prior to that? Who knows. I still didn't think they did much to hurt the enemy when I played through.

Limit breaks did lots of damage on him if I recall, because they ignore defence, but they don't ignore elemental defence or something

Demon Wall has never given me any trouble. A few level 2 spells and some limit breaks when they come around and it's history. It gave me more trouble in FFIV.

Ughhh I well just made a long post and got something about not being able to show the web page. Was not amused

Anyway, this time round I thought Id be ok, I was overlevelled for once, not by much but still, I was overlevelled. And I STILL died. I didnt last very long at all actually at least I only doed once the as opposed to repeatedly like I have done in the past xD

Once Id reloaded my game I realised everyone was int he front row, in the back row they went andf I eventually won, even then it was still pretty close xD

I would say this one of the harder bosses in the game. I used meteorain wenever possible, that took a lotta his hp away. Stuck to the basics really, haste, barrier etc his attacks dont do to much damage if i recall, but regen is handy anyway.

I never got defeated by him, I used to have my characters to around level 35 or 40 by then, sometimes higher. I recall that the last time I fought him, some of my characters already had their level 3 limits, and Meteorain does GREAT damage against him!

I never thought Demon Wall was that hard to defeat. I was able to kill him on the first try. I guess my experience with Demon Walls in this series don't surpise me when I go up against them since I know what to expect most of the time.

Hey, did anyone here have trouble beating the demon wall in the temlpe of the ancients,
i found him marginally difficult because i never have aeris in my team so when i was fighting him she had like 700 HP and hardly any slots for materia.
and who thought that the dragon was hard because after casting Bio2 on him he was easy to beat .:P
My first time playing made me so frustrated that my controller became very intimate with the wall. So I opened up a earlier save file and got Aerith's ultimate limit break: "Great Gospel" that cures all ailments, restores all health, and makes the party invincible briefly.

... and in doing so, I ended up over leveling the characters anyway.

The most effective way was to un-equip all of your materia, except for Cure paired with an All, and Bahamut. That way all of your physical stats increased along with your maximum HP. Not being able to use magic wasn't a loss because Demon Wall has a high magic defense. Problem solved. :monster:

Oh dear lord. How can I have played the game that many times and never thought of that? I unequip materia all the time when I want some eextra HP and I'm low on HP Plus, but never once did I think to do so when fighting a boss with high magic defense.

But no, I've never had too much trouble with it. Just cast Odin and Bahamut enough times and I'm good to go. The first wall in FFXII was much more bitchy, though.

i didn't have too much trouble so long as vincent was at least limit lvl 2.and i never thought of the unequiping the materia thing...i'll have to try that.

and i agree with relient the 1st wall in ff12 is a pain in the ass unless you jsut come back when all your charcters are about 10 lvls higher and you have 2 quickenings each at least.

milk and cookies

I went out of my way to learn Great gospel which means I was level 60+. Demon wall fell down went boom. I however remember one file I thought I was stuck and litterally had to fight in the room you see sephy in (the one with the painted walls). I had to level up for a while.

I killed the two demon walls in ff12 with quickenings but could never find that sword people were taking about. can somone explain this?

the sword is in the chest you find in the secret passage but you have to come back to it a few times to be able to get it,it took me forever but was well worth it.

Playing through the Temple of the Ancients segment proved to be way too hard with the bosses and the story twist that involved Aerith, Sephiroth and Cloud made me go for a classic "WTF"

But back to the dragon and the wall. It was way too hard that I had to dig up an earlier save game an rethink my strategy. (This is why I keep at least 3 save files when playing one game at a time)

Just killed Demon Wall ~2hours ago. My levels were something like this: Aeris 20, Cloud and Nanaki 25. Wasnt that hard battle, Aeris just didnt have enough hp to survive all of Demon Walls hits, and she were my healer. Killed it on my first try, but still it is the hardest normal boss in the whole game.

Yeah I most have had bad luck then cause I went down and around many times before I doubted its existence. I could probally have found the Zodiac Spear in the Henna mines quicker.

Wasn't demon wall in almost every final fantasy? I remember seeing enemies like him in other titles. It could be my imagination.

just bash the heck out of it with cloud and vincent, keep aerith in the back row defending and healing.

I'm not sure about almost every Final Fantasy, but i do know it appeared in Final Fantasy IV before.

I actually thought it was a pretty simple battle. I went on a crazy melee-and-heal, whacking with my hardest, from the likes of Cloud.. And healing, from Aerith.

The first time I fought him, I lost horribly. I was severely unprepared and Aerith died first, due to lack of training. Healing Wind and Bronze Armlet just wouldn't do. I knew I won, because the second time, I tested out Bahamut and Barrier-All.

My third character was Cid, who had Dragon Dive, (thank god I trained him before I fought that boss) so he was great help there. Cloud had Climhazzard, which does a LOT! (Not "Meteorain" damage, but still more than most attacks.) Due to these skills, I wasn't careless during my comeback, and thus I won.

I'll tell you about my BEST fight w/ him. Bahamut and Barrier were still important, but I used Vincent. Lemme tell you, Death Gigas really DOES hurt bosses for a lot. Slamdunk is DEFINITELY way more powerful than Climhazzard. I also added Cloud's Nail Bat to the fight, which makes for a decent Climhazzard. I also gave Aerith Great Gospel. The rest is obvious. Also, anyone who's stuck, write down these tips of ours~.
