Descent into madness

:)

Alright guys, please quit the spamming and stick on the topic at hand. Otherwise I will start deleting posts.

Technically what we were discussing was loosely based on the topic at hand and stemmed from that said topic. Therefore it is not spam, it is simply threaded from the topic as a point of discussion, which is the point of a forum.

I think Einstein is a perfect example of someone thought by many to be insane but was actually eccentric. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Too loosely, in fact. =] And I have deleted a few posts which were definitely considered spam as this section is not a "spam section". Discussions about Einstein is completely alright, nothing wrong with that. But posts such as, "I see...", and "wtf" are definitely considered spam. I just ask that a few members put more effort into their posts, that's all. And I understand that discussions will always derail from its original topic (as long as it's still somewhat the same topic), but when we see one-word posts that clearly lacks effort, then that is when we'll step up and try to remind everyone to please keep it back on track and with more effort to the posts.

word.

i thought you were getting mad because the topic was getting on a tangent.

Sanity is usually defined by what society and its conventions sees it as. For example a 1000 years ago you would most certainly be called insane if you thought the sun was the center of the solar system like Galileo. So these days Insanity may be defined by most people as a uncontrollable chemical imbalance resulting in manic and frenzied behavior, but there are still some narrow minded people who think a difference in ideas/convention equates Insanity.

Insanity is just the highest form of 'weirdness'. For example: big, bigger, biggest.

Almost every word has a related meaning to another word, but it is used only if the meaning that you meant is within that range.

For the different levels to madness:
1. Weird
2. Eccentric
3. Insane

There may be other words used in between or before and after, but I haven't a clue what they are.

You're not insane if you know you're insane. That just means that you still have enough brain cells doing the right thing that you're capable of being aware that you are acting crazy.

Having said that, if you think you're perfectly fine then.... :wacky:

Simple answer: I don't know when I'm insane.

But why let something like "insanity", which other people impose on you bother you?

So I'm a math geek and see things in numbers and putting together numerical patterns and logic that other people don't, and if that makes me insane, then I'd gladly accept that I'm insane. Nobody can make me think the world has something more enjoyable to offer than mathematics, which harms no one, if it makes me seem less insane.

In other words, I don't care if you think I'm insane.

I don't think you can realize when you're going nuts. :P Some people who really are insane see nothing wrong with whatever they're doing; even if they are killing millions of people. Most of them just seem to see life like, "wut r moralz?!! can u get dem on ebayz??!!".

And often, people who think they're insane are perfectly normal. Sometimes it leads to suicide, when all they really need is medication. >_<

That's my view on it, anyway.
