You're Not Alone? I think this more then anything is my favourite ALL TIME piece of music from an FF game. I thought it was very touching, and seemed to fit in amazingly well with the current scenario :)

I do love the song "Your Not Alone". And I think it played perfectly considering what was going on. In IX, it is one of my favorite pieces after Chocobo hunting, Melodies of Life, and His Dark Messenger.

The music style didn't really appeal to me, but I felt the emotion behind the song, especially when it's being played while Zidane was so unsure of his purpose in life and reason to be with people.

That was such a strange scene to me in general, that I really wasn't paying much attention to it the first time I played the game.. I wish I had, as so many people seem to love it.. ;-; I'm playing it again, though, so hopefully when I get there..

LOL

It's a very beautiful and powerful piece of music that I unfortunately didn't appreciate very much the first time I played IX.

I really enjoyed "The place I'll return to someday". For those who don't know, that is the Flute song at the intro movie to the game before you even start playing. Where they show different scenes throughout the whole game. Obviously the first song you are exposed to and I fell in love with it upon hearing it for the first time, and every time I started that game since. Runner up would have to be, Beatrix's piano theme, I'm not sure if it has a specific name or not. I am a big piano guy so most of the piano in this game was enjoyable for me to listen to.

Yeah, I thought that You're Not Alone perfectly fitted the scene. The style of music seems to portray a "dawning realization", and all the while Zidane was facing inner conflicts...it was just an emotional touch.

Your name is accurate. We're discussing the song "You're Not Alone", not the entire OST. There's another thread for that.

Anyway, I think I'm the only person who will say this, but no, I was not touched by this song.

It's a nice song, but I feel there are more powerful songs in the OST. Also, it always reminds me of that part of the game, and I absolutely DESPISE that part because I always get my ass handed to me, no matter what level I am. It's the only part of the game that gives me difficulty -__- If I wasn't having to fight through a gauntlet of monsters I would probably find the scene more touching.

I thought it seemed more inspirational then anything, it was definitely my favorite song on the OST!

I did feel moved, but I found the in-game tune quite repetitive and tedious towards the end. I much prefer the orchestrated version, and I wish that had been in the game instead T_T

Well I found that most of the Music in the Game was amazing, most of FF has good ones

I think you're right, a more perfectly suited piece of music they could not have chosen for that scenario, I didn't particularly like the style but I could appreciate the emotion it portrayed. I'd be pushed to find a piece in that game that I didn't like.:monster:

Had to look it up on Youtube because I don't know the names of the songs of IX very well, but I had the feeling it was the one I was thinking of and was right. I really liked it, one of the most memorable tunes of the game and the scene that goes with it was pretty cool too. Couldn't say I was 'touched' tho.

I really like the song, it does go well with Zidane's situation and it was just great. I can't really find a fault in most of the FF tunes to be honest :D

Yes, I think I almost cried....no never mind I cried >_>;;
It went so perfect with the scene, it was simply too perfect for my own good v.v
