Now, I'm sorry if this has been asked before, and if this is the wrong place (although I'm just looking to know what this it more than anything).

So... I was looking at the FFShrine site and found some screenshots of FFVIII shouwing the Ragnarok launching into space. Is this like a flash back? Or can you return to space?

I've never seen the FMV that this is from, not matter how many times I play through the game. Have I missed something?

Here's a couple of the images:

i think you can see it when you talk with laguna in esthar.
there are multiple options you can talk about when you first meet him
i may be wrong though....havent played the game for over 2 years

Really? Hmm... Well, i just started playing through the game again, so hopefully i'll be able to see it. :) I'm gonna save on multiple slots whilst in esther as well, just so i can run around and find it! xDD As far as I know its the only cutscene i haven't seen. :P

Wow, haven't seen this one before. I don't remember it either, and I've been playing it for years..

I actually found it on youTube a few days ago... I'll have to try and find the video again... I'm gonna do everything I can to see this in game though. xD It's apparently showing them taking Adel into space.

I don't remember this bit at all either. I think I probably missed it or forgot about it.

If anyone finds out how to get this cutscene (who to talk to to get it and when / where) then that would be fantastic.

It makes sense that it is taking Adel up into space and explains how the ship got up there, or more importantly the reason it is there.

You probably won't see it if the disc has scratches, no matter how small. Its happened to me. I bought another FFVIII game because it skipped FMV all the time.

Since you're replaying it and if you still don't see it, its your disc or playstation/psp.

Waaait. I remember that FMV.

*scratches head*

I'm pretty sure it's a flashback showing how the sorceress was brought up there. I seem to remember a low-res cutscene (very dorky) of Ward and Kiros on their knees worshiping the sorceress as she approaches, and Laguna pushing her back into the Sorceress Monument so she gets zapped with plot device lightning and trapped. Then they send her up into space. This would be part of that flashback.

But I haven't replayed in a while, so my memory is fuzzy. I do remember this FMV, though.

I believe when you talk to Laguna about Adel, it will flash back to this. I think you need to talk to him before Lunatic Pandora comes to actually be able to view it. Cause he later remarks that he always wanted to ride one and the name sounds cool, so maybe somehow you view it on the ragnarok, but im mostly sure its in Esthar.

This is a flashback of how Sorceress Adel was sent into space with the help of 4 Ragnarok spacecraft. The fmv happens when you are talking to laguna about his travels and how he trapped Adel.

Yep. This is the scene that shows after Laguna and Co. trick Adel and trap her and the the Ragnaroks send her into space to be imprisoned untill the events of FF VIII happen where she is freed once the Lunar Cry, I believe, is done

Ah ok. xD I've never seen it. T_T I'm really gonna have to make sure I do this time. :P

I definitely remember watching this one way back when... Boy, it's been almost 2 years since I've had a working Final Fantasy VIII disc D:

Anyway, there is a scene before this one that explains what is actually going on. As others before me have stated, you get this flashback whenever you speak with Laguna. I didn't realize it was a missable scene. It obviously is... considering a few of you have missed it... I must just be awesome at talking to everyone 15 times O.O

Yeah, you get this FMV when Laguna is telling Squall about overthrowing Adel in the past. When Squall and Laguna meet face-to-face for the first time in the Presidential Palace, when you go to get briefed about the plan to destroy Ultimecia, you can talk to Laguna about several different things before choosing to be briefed. I think the one that shows this FMV is the option about "What are you doing here?" or something along those lines.
