I'm pretty sure when she wakes up while she's drifting along in space, you see an FMV sequence of her pressing a button on her suit, and her helmet opens at the top... WTF?!

Also while she's floating some picture/paper thing comes out of her? I noticed this and wtf? It looks like some picture just floats from her. Where did it come from?

Her helmet never opened at the top. She pressed a button for an emergency air supply or something. And those were rings you're talking about, not picture. xD She was wearing it as a necklace, remember? It's been awhile since I played the game...I can't remember how she acquired the rings.

Yar, what she said. Although
in the last FMV before the credits, Squall see's a vision of Rinoa's helmut breaking and dying, but that's it.

I believe one ring she already had and the other ring
through some really simple badgering, Zell asked Squall for his ring, and then Zell gave it to Rinoa while he supposedly worked on a girly replica for Rinoa, but I guess in the end she just kept Squall's ring

Aha! Thanks for clearing that up, Fusionist. I had an inkling that Zell was somehow in the picture regarding the rings since I do remember Zell and Squall talking about rings in Balamb Garden.

Rinoa was however pretty dumb to begin with to not press the button to begin with, perhaps she just lost hope and thought it would not matter anyway to have air for more 5 minutes or perhaps she simply was not smart enough to understand what the buttons did, i'm not surprised myself.

But she did not open her helmet for certain, that would be...well a very big plothole.

Haha yeah! I thought she did open up her mask, but I rewatched the scene on youtube and I realized that she didn't. It would be instant death if she had though and there would be no game over or restart ;D

Her helmet never does open up, when she touches that button it is for her air supply, or what is left of it. Cause of the way the lighting was done it does look like it had, when i replays the game i saw that it never did open.

I never thought it opened... XD but, im not giving ya shit or anything. As others have said 'tis for air supply. I think maybe the reflection of the rings to her helmet? Idk but it never opened... XD

yeah i think that is what made me think... eh hold on lol. but then i realised her rings was inside her helmet xD

How do you figure she was pretty dumb to not push the button? Obviously she didn't need to push the button until her regular supply of air ran out. That was like an emergency supply of air for her to use. So why are you calling her dumb? The spacesuits in this game had a limited supply of air once you go into space. Also, you need to remember she was possessed when she first went into space like that. Her air supply began running out and so she pushed the emergency button so she could breathe. Ultimecia was hardly concerned if Rinoa had enough air to survive or not. All she wanted was for Rinoa to revive Adel. After that, she was just left in space to die. The emergency air supply wasn't going to last long anyway, but it hardly makes her dumb. Your post is completely irrelevant.

plus the whole point to a air supply is to press it when it is needed and not before. It would have been dumb to press it whilst there was still oxygen in the suit and then ruin what time she had left. Also what has to be took into account was the fact she was possessed as kikyo said, in the middle of space, on her own, no means or getting help or being saved, or so she thought so have you thought maybe she just freaked out. its amazing she could press the button i probably would have screamed and realised way too late it was there lol.

I know what the original poster is referring to. No she doesn't open her helmet but she does press a button that retracts what I believe to be some sort of sunscreen used to protect your eyes in situations where the UV rays can be magnified in space.

I agree with Kikyo/Elly, Rinoa's helmet did not open, and calling her dumb for pressing the emergency button? Um correct me if I'm wrong, Its for an EMERGENCY only. In reality, she was smart to do that because during the sequence before the fmv appeared, remember how it was saying life support 0 or something of that sort. well then there you go.
