I know a lot of people were pretty stoked when FFX-2 came out...I know I sure was, but actually...before I even played the sequel, I thought to myself "FFX has the perfect ending..." I thought that perhaps playing a sequel would ruin it for me...

Actually, I was quite right. =\
Now X-2 is very fun in terms of gameplay, admitted, but I think that FFX had one of the best endings in the series...It wasn't mushy and romantic...it was sad, but it made perfect sense.

FFX got a 7.5 in terms of the story line, but the ending really did it for me. It made the game just right. =]
I sincerely wish that I had never played FFX-2. =[

No, it didn't. IMO it was a great game. FFX was an excellent game, however comparing it to FFX-2 would be like comparing The Mona Lisa to the centerfold of Playboy Magazine. Both are beautiful, but are great in their own regards but they shouldn't be compared.

It might help you deal if you pretend the two weren't related.

I'm glad a sequal was made. I loved the gameplay and I like how there are multiple endings so Yuna may or may not get to see tidus again. I think it was a good choice.

It didn't ruin X, it just was a very bad idea. I played it until after the whole first scene in Luca. Then when Yuna you had to go to sleep to start the next bit I stopped playing it. Sorry, aint going any further.

Nah, it didn't ruin it. I was disapointed in how it turned out but, I will always be a Final Fantasy Fan. =D. I will think twice about getting sequals or anything with 3 girls as the main character.

she did :D I like the way Yuna has changed a lot. I repeat- a lot. But I'm still confused about the Shuyin-Tidus and Lenne-Yuna thing... Where did that come from?

Nope.

One's graceful, beautiful and done by the hands of a true artist, the other is just smut.

Much like FFX and FFX-2.

FFX-2 Ruined FFX Beyond belief.

nope no since at all. FFX had the most awsome ending ever... It was perfect. Then FFX. I like the story up to 30% of the game...then it just gets repetitive...and gay.

FFX-2 did not ruin for me. I just thought the sequel was pointless. *shrug* Hey, the game had a cool intro at least.

it didnt so much ruin the whole game as it did just the ending. i thought X had a powerful ending but idk if i would have been satisfied had i never seen what happened after tidus left spira. BUT, what they did with the sequel really pissed me off, like why only 3 playable characters and why were they all girls? im not sexist or anything but i like to have some guys in my party to make it seem like im not playing a game intended for girls.

Nope.

Even though the story was quite dull following up an amazing FFX story, FFX's story could never be ruined IMO mainly because I loved the game so much on it's own, that nothing can take that away from me.

The part I liked best about FFX-2 was that it brought Yuna and Tidus back together if you get the perfect ending. Sure it's short, and pretty cheesy, but Tidus...Yuna, re-united for good, is pretty cool IMO.

FFX FTW!

Yes it did!

X-2 was probably the biggest mistake Squareenix has made!

Well, maybe I'm being a bit harsh. I liked X-2, it's just that X had such a major impact, then it just seems as if X-2 degraded X's power upon the gamer.

When tidus came back in FFX-2 it made no sense what ever, though it was a nice scene, it still didnt make any sense...

How did it not make sense? The Fayth wanted to reward Yuna by giving her something she desperately wanted; Tidus. They wouldn't be 'dreaming' him anymore, because they made him real in a manner of speaking. Tidus was a gift... nothing confusing or odd about it.

As for the thread... I felt it let X down. Sure, fun at times, but that's not what makes a Final Fantasy game... well, 'Final Fantasy' for me. I wouldn't say it ruined the entire thing, but it definitely put a stain on the game.

Putting that in my sig. ^^

I personally didn't enjoy the game at all. Not even with gameshark. Combat was WAY repetitive and annoying. The battle system just slowed things down for me and made it a chore and a royal bore to play the game.

It didnt ruin it for me. I loved both games and found them both enjoyable. What some people seem to forget is that X2 is really just abit of fun, not to be taken seriously.

I wouldn't say that X-2 ruined it all for me. I still highly enjoy FFX, it remains one of my favorite games. I just look at FFX-2 as a bad game that Square never should have created. It was a bad choice on their part, and truthfully, I have disowned the game as a Final Fantasy game.
