Which Final Fantasy was the Hardest and which was the easiest in your opinion?

For me, I think FFIX was the easiest and FFVIII was the hardest.

Oh, I am talking about the main series, so do not include games like FFX-2 (like you could really call that a game anyways). But you get my point.
 
The easiest is probably FF8 in my opinion since you lv up UBER quickly and you could get UBER spells right near the start.

The hardest is probably FF4 because the encounter rate is way too high and the enemies seem to do random damage. Not to mention Zeromus is probably the hardest boss in the series.
 
Mmmm, easiest I'd say was FFX, but hardest was FFVIII, considering it's still the one I can't beat 'cause of the junction/magic/drawing system. Blech.
 
Easiest: VII (it's easier than IX and that's even before Knights of the Round)

Hardest: definitely XII. It's simply brutal in the amount of leveling you have to do to survive. And it's not surviving bosses either, just normal area-specific enemies, like in the Stillshrine or Pharos.
 
The easiest one by far had to be FFX, I just didn't struggle with it at all :) I just love to brag!

Hardest for me is FFVIII, but also the best in my opinion. It challenging in various parts of the game, but it's not overly difficult so it doesn't make it eye-gougingly frustrating!
 
Jesus whats with the ff8 being hard?
All ya had to do is get a load of decent spells and junction them and everything is over.
And yeah ff8 was the easiest to lv up in since you had to get the same amount of exp each time :/
 
I'm quite shocked at the fact that FFVIII was considered the hardest. Perhaps, maybe, some challenges were a bit difficult; however, overall the game was a walk in the park. The hardest would have to be XII, followed by VII. FFX was quite challenging in parts too and the Dark Aeons were probably the most formidable foe I've fought in the series, along with Ozma and Emerald/Ruby weapon.

I am too. I found VIII to be incredibly easy. X was by far the easiest for me though. I pretty much breezed through the game with very little effort.

IV was probably the hardest. Plenty of tough enemies and bosses. Plus the game tends to shuffle your party quite a bit.

Does anyone else find that the pre-ffvii titles seem to be a lot more difficult? I've been playing V and VI and I've noticed that. And I'm not saying that it's a bad thing. ;)

Yes, I have noticed that. Heh, try playing FFI on the original Nintendo. Now that game is tough.

I've notice in re-releases of the old FF games they seem a lot easier than the original game. I have been playing FFV on the GBA and the game seems easier when I first played it on the PS1. (FF Anthology)

As for hardest game....FFI on the Nintendo and FFIV (SNES and PS1).

Easiest - FFX and FFVIII. FFX you can't die at the final boss. (Yu Yevon.) FFVIII makes the junction system, limit breaks, aura, heros makes the game so easy-mode.

All that hard work was in vein because the developers thought it would be too hard!!!

i think the easiest ff i played was IX not too sure about the hardest......erm, id have to say XII because iv seen the game over screen more than i care to remember - but i think, if the battle system was the way I know and love, i'd probly say it was the easiest........hmmm

IV is hard >_< Thus why I never got very far in it...I don't think I even got past the Mom Bomb, I just didn't feel like leveling that much.

X is pathetic at the end. Braska's Aeon acutally provided a decent challenge, then BAM autolife on everyone. And fighting your own Aeons was just pathetic, Yuna 1 hit KOed them every time with a Holy spell.
 
yeah i dont think iv beaten VI yet.....i got stuck somewhere near the end and now i cant find my memory card so i'd have to start over and i really don't want to >.<
 
Easiest: FFVIII...I didn't mind the junction system. and you could lvl up fast as hell

Hardest: FFVII: Dunno why...its just...hard. i've only completed it once
 
The hardest FF for me...hmm...FFVIII usually proves to be a good challenge for me every time that I play. I always level my characters up to level 100 for the extra challenge.

I thought FFVII and IX were generally pretty easy. =]

FFX is proving to have the most difficult sidequests and mini games XD
 
Haha now everyone (except rhea) is saying ff8 is the easiest now. Almost if they want to agree with others.
Anyway the man reason that older ff's are harder is probably cause the encounter rate is alot higher and most of the enemies deal random damage.
I mean a monster in ff4 deals 300 damage then suddenly it deals 6000.
 
im changing my mind aswel.....i think i may have to say ix is still the easiest but also XII, because i have (finally) beat it. Hardest.....well, i'd say they were all challenging in their own ways, i had a hard time with 1 & 6 but i dunno really. Im still faffing about on 10 with the dark aeons. Altho 10 had the easist final boss. Oh.....i dunno
