Difficulties

I'd say the hardest are FFIV and FFV because the older games are harder, and i've yet to complete these two XD

The easiest is probably XII VII or X, all of the systems can be manipulated to create uber powerful characters

I wouldn't say FFV is too hard. The bosses in FFV all tend to have a unique way to be killed. Example - Merugene/Mellusion can be killed easily by summoning Carbuncle and having Firaga reflect.

I mean a monster in ff4 deals 300 damage then suddenly it deals 6000.
That was one of the things that made IV hard. Not to mention even having maxed out characters still took hard hits from normal enemies. Certain points of the game were very difficult due to the change of characters.

From the Final Fantasy games I have played, I would have to say that Final Fantasy X was the easiest while either VIII or V were the hardest. I never completed V because I got up to one boss battle and was never able to defeat it! Probably because I was slack on making my characters stronger.

I'm surprised by those who said XII was the hardest. I found it the easiest to play. I loved the battle system and, while going into areas underlevelled did make it hard, it was fairly easy to level up. I suppose it would have been harder had I turned off Gambits. Haha. The bosses were all fairly easy, so long as one was on the recommended level. I tended to look at the recommended level before tackling something. :P

The first three hours were hard though. All those mines... I died a lot.

Hardest would be X. I found the Sphere Grid too difficult to get a hang of on there. Had I the time, and had I not many other games to play/complete, I'd re-start it so I could get to the end. On my current game, it's impossible. I'm just before Evrae and even the monsters in the ship are too hard sometimes.

I suck at my favourite game. T_T

i think ff8 was EASY AS HELL once you get it i got to lvl 80 at the begining at disc 2. and no i didnt train for days i was auctuallt training my summons at the cactuar desert also good spells early

but i honestly think 10-2 was way to easy.

as for the hardest i would have to say 4. hardest last boss in the series imo

also 5 was too easy and so was ff6 damn this whole series was easy except for 4 lol

Aww, c'mon, nobody thinks VII is the easiest?

Yeah, I understand IX was pretty easy, but VII had the materia system which made you friggin UBER 1337. You didn't even need KotR to own everything if you had good enemy skills, especially since Big Guard + White Wind meant you would never ever die.

At least in IX you had to have a bit of strategy and play off your enemies' strengths and weaknesses and the like.

VII was incredibly easy, yes. But I still say X is the easiest FF I've played yet.

Really? o_O

It was easy for the most part, but it had a few challenging areas/bosses, like that giant stone gollum you fight on the bridge (Guardian X, wasn't it?), that island with Ultima and Omega (but that's optional...), and Yunalesca and Braska's Final Aeon were hard as hell. VII had no challenging areas or bosses.

I think VII was the easiest. I agree with Venge though, Yunalesca was a bit hard to beat because she kept casting zombie and cure. I didn't have much of a problem beating her but she was still harder than most bosses. Also FFX had harder challenges such as the arena and ultimate weapons were harder to require.

The arena in FFVII was really easy. Finding the ultimate weapons was nothing. At the end of the game they just literally hand you the weapons. Also getting level 4 limit breaks weren't hard either.

The easiest is probably FF8 in my opinion since you lv up UBER quickly and you could get UBER spells right near the start.

The hardest is probably FF4 because the encounter rate is way too high and the enemies seem to do random damage. Not to mention Zeromus is probably the hardest boss in the series.

I agree with you, VIII was by far, the easiest, due to the fact that lvling up was very, very easy. The reason for that was that most enemies lvled up along side, this allowed you to get to ridiculous lvls. Before I even left Balamb Garden, I was already over lvl 45+.

The hardest is tied between FFIV and FFV, some of the guys in there where just ridiculous and would do damage more than your character would have HP. The random battles where just simply crazy too boot.

The hard parts of Final Fantasy X was earning the pieces for their Ultimate Weapons, like dodging 200 lightning bolts was annoying as hell! What's worst when your like me, I completely deleted the entire sphere grid and re-added it all back with the maximum points, this would allow all of my characters to reach 255 for their entire stats.

After the full completetion of the Sphere-Grid, I quit grinding hard for any game after that since...never again.

The arena and getting ultimate weapons weren't game requirements though. I never really bothered with them because I just wanted to get through the game. The only problem I had with Yunalesca was that I wasn't prepared for megadeath. :P

Anyway, it's really a toss up between any of the games from VII forward. None of them really present a challenge besides the optional bosses.

With the exception of the original FFIV released in Japan and as a package in Chronicles/Anthology; Final Fantasy IV - Easy Type, even on its own, is still harder than any other FF games in existence that I've played thus far. However, the time it takes to complete it is very short for a FF game, in the region of 10-25 hrs.

Easiest for me no doubt was X. The game was setup so that you wouldn't wander off to a place that was beyond your levels. Aeons' overdrives does most of the job for you.

Easiest and hardest final fantasy

What is the hardest and the easiest final fantasy game you have played,
Mine is ff9 for easiest and ff8 for hardest

It is my favorite game but VII is way too easy. That game seriously needs a boost in difficulty.

As far as the hardest, I think it was V, can't remember, really.

I don't see how VII was the easiest, when VIII was the cake walk through of them all. I mean, you could get to lvl 100 nearly at the beginning of the game if you wanted too, and that would have blown you right through the entire game.

The first time I played this game, before the confrontation at Dullet or w/e (forgot, since it's been YEARS that I've played VIII through) I was already lvl 55+...and umm...that's like less then 25% into the game.

VIII was easily the most straight and easy to play FF game out there. Imo, the biggest reasons behind it was the fact that the mobs would level up alongside you, which allowed you level up much more quickly. I mean, my cousin beat this game still using Revolver...the very first weapon you got with Squall.

Most of us where definitely not using Buster Sword at the end of FFVII. VII was not a very difficult game either mind you, however if you weren't at recommended lvls, the mobs where actually an obstacle because they did not lvl up alongside you, so if your lvl 35 fighting lvl 45 mobs...they where difficult, and if you didn't try to keep your materia's up in check, it would come back to bite you.

VIII was the easiest really, however, from my perspective, the newer FF games aren't as difficult as the older FF games...gosh forbid things like FFIV I remember where very difficult the first time I went through it, lolz.
