OOC: Right, everyone saw this coming at one time or another. Hera Ledro vs. Alumar (Fox). Time for a battle of the titans!

This shall be a dish of awesome drowned in epicsauce :cassy:

I will be using the latest version of Hera Ledro. He's big, so brace yourself if you're going to try and read him.

Arena - Forest Fortress

A great evergreen forest stretches out for what seems to be infinity in all directions from a central fortress of wood and leafy boughs. Looking across the land from the sky, the hills underneath the great canopy apparent in the rise and fall of treetops. Wind blew in gales strong enough to make any lone tree fall. But in this forest, where all the trees supported one another, the only things that moved from the force of the wind were stray needles and the very tips of the tallest trees.

The fortress itself was a fortress of nature. It was not designed as a home, but the inside of the natural wonder had been carved out by the hundreds of thousands of creatures that had taken up residence in it over the ages. Several great 'rooms' and 'halls' could be found throughout the structure, and so long as one wasn't afraid of falling, could be accessed easily by climbing the many tree trunks in the structure.

At ground level, in the very centre of the structure, there is a great pool of water more then thirty feet deep and forty feet in diameter, taking up a third of the fortress' width. Directly above it is a solitary hole in the evergreen canopy, which all the trees' tips angle down into. Whenever it rains, water cascades down the hole and into the pond, creating a beautiful ripple effect.

The effect is even further improved by the fact that directly underneath the hole is a single spire, which the water first runs down to get to the pond. The fortress acts as a great shelter to the many animals of the forest when storms come, providing shelter and water for all. Even predators do not hunt there, for the fortress is an ancient ground predating the ascension of intelligent life.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hera Ledro floated belly-up in the water, enjoying his brief moments of peace and serenity. It was indeed brief, as only a moment later his grandson let out a woop and dove straight down from the highest canopy of the living castle. Hera Ledro was sent to the rim of the water on a great wave as the sixteen-year-old cannonballed into the water.

Two seconds later, as Jake resurfaced, the nude boy got splashed in the face with a ball of water. He came up again spluttering.

"That was for splashing me," Hera said cheekily, shaking himself off. "Next time it'll be a ball of ice." Jake stuck his tongue out impudently and dove under water, dodging another bubble of water.

When he resurfaced, Jake called out, "Oh shut up and get in here. You can't just relax whenever you're taking a break, you've gotta live life while you can!"

"Easy for you to say," Hera scoffed. "I've still got just under eleven million years left in my life, and for all we know, you'll live just as long."

"Ah, but we don't know," Jake pointed out, grinning. "So we have to do what we can while we can, and stop fussing about it." He shot out of the water, floating a few inches above the surface. "So come on, what's say we get some real fun going?"

Hera lay back in the shallows, feeling the cool water run up and down his legs with the waves. "Nah, you go ahead," he said contentedly, "I'll just lay here for a while. Who knows, I might actually get a good nap in. But with you around, I won't count on it."

OOC: I will be using the latest version of Alumar Loren, though that should be sort of logical by this point ^^

I hate you Hera, you have any idea how much I had to think to get this crappy intro post up! ^^
Ah well, I guess we will just have to take it as it comes ^^

-------------------------------------------

Alumar had been wandering in this eternal forest for a few days; he got some rather unique herbs from a traveler, mentioning that he got them from the trees in this forest. The thing was that he mentioned that in some areas the trees grow together, forming rooms and whatnot, or rather, the creatures form them.
He made a note to remember the man’s life signature, if he had sent Alumar on a wild goose’s chase out here, he would be very sorry.
Thing was, he had actually found some of the same specimen of herb, and it was at the exact place that the traveler mentioned, sad thing was that it did not grow in all of them, and where it actually did grow there as not much to go by.

Letting out a deep sigh that were quickly absorbed by the surrounding trunks, Alumar looked to the sky, or rather to the top of the trees, as the sky was hard to see from the bottom.
Looking back down, he was really annoyed that he were alone, sad thing was that the last time he went out traveling like this, the one that followed him died of old age, so…. Yeah….

Noting another of these ‘fortresses’, Alumar walked towards one of the trunks that lead to it, and simply stepped on the trunk, starting to walk up towards the crown. Having magic that lets him change the forces of gravity was rather effective in cases such as this.

Finally getting up, he entered with a slight issue, as some of the openings of these things were rather small. Though after a several minutes of inspection, this one also only had a small amount.
Sighed to himself as he put the herbs in the small magical opening in his coat, he exited the compartment the same way he came in, cursing the there were not a simpler way to find them.

Ending back on the ground, he continued to search for them.
Suddenly, feeling a rather large energy signature, or… 2 signatures, from a certain direction, Alumar decided to go there, perhaps it was some local life of the forest, if so perhaps he could persuade them of helping him.

After gaining distance, he started walking up the tree trunk the same way as he did the last, taking note of the location of the life inside, they both seemed to have a rather unique feel to them, though he might be able to say more as he actually got there.
Off course being extremely careful, due to logical reasons, he ended up on the top of this fortress as well. Being much larger than the previous ones he had been in, he managed to get a look into it.
And what he saw was rather interesting, a seemingly human male child and a creature with blue fur and wings.
Activating his ‘Detect Life’ spell, his eyes started to inspect the furry one, he seemed to be something Alumar had never met before, at least not as he remembered. Whereas the human child, where far from human, he actually had a part of similar signature as the furry one. “Interesting” Alumar thought to himself.

”Hello-” Alumar started as he waved, trying to seem friendly. “-You would not happen to be local wildlife, would you?” he asked, noting that his question seemed rather rude right after asking, but he could really not care less.

EDIT:
Hera, I have already found out the reason why to start the battle, so do not fear, the battle will be started from my side ^^
The reason have not yet been revealed though.

((OOC: Bwahahaha, it begins!))

Hera's eyelids had just started to droop when Jake came and shook him awake. "Gramps, get up!"

Hera scowled and snorted. "What?"

"Someone's coming."

Hera's senses were immediately alert. He inwardly berated himself for not paying attention to his energy sense*. Careless, that was what it was. His brief vacation had made him sloppy.

As soon as he attuned himself to the energy, Hera frowned. "You can feel that too, right Jake?"

"Duh," Jake scoffed, "Otherwise you would have still been laying here when it got here." Jake walked over and pulled on his boxers and jean shorts, throwing his white shirt over his body. "This one's wierd, though; I've never felt anything like it."

Hera nodded. "It's almost human...but fundamentally different. I can't place my finger on it, but this is like deja vu; I've felt this before, but the memory is long since faded."

"Here it comes," Jake said.

"Let's not attack it or anything straight off, Jake," Hera warned. "For all we know, it's friendly. Strange, but if it could sense us we'd feel just as alien."

"You are an alien," Jake grinned.

"That's beside the point.

Not five minutes later, Hera turned around to see a man staring at them from a short distance away. This was succeeded by a friendly "Hello" and a wave. Hera did a quick wave himself, but did not speak. It mattered not, as the greeting was soon followed by a question:

"You would not happen to be local wildlife, would you?"

Jake sputtered with indignation, while Hera had to work hard to stifle a chuckle.

"Wildlife?" Jake growled, his pride struck. "I've got half a mind to go over there and sock him one!"

Flexing his abs to stop the chuckling, Hera chided, "Well come on, Jake; that hair of yours is hardly neat looking after your dunk."

Jake fingered his hair and sent a cold glare at Hera, making the Allsie chuckle even more.

A few moments later, Hera regained control of himself and called up to the man, "No, we're not wildlife. We're just here on a short vacation. We've been fighting and training almost non-stop for the last year, so we took a few days off." Visibly hesitating, Hera continued. "And who do we have the pleasure of meeting?"

"Or beating," Jake muttered under his breath.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

* - couldn't find another way to appropriately phrase it >_>

OOC: Lousy reason, yes, but it fits his personality ^^
----------------------------------

Alumar looked at the two; it would seem that the one that looked like a human took it personally, whereas the furry one had some sense of humor.

"Well come on, Jake; that hair of yours is hardly neat looking after your dunk."The furry one said, stating that the human one was named ‘Jake’.
Alumar had already gotten a grin by that time, and it might have had a weird look, his hat obscuring his eyes and a grin on his lips.
Though the 2 seemed to be close enough, Alumar assumed as much upon his initial investigation, as this Jake had parts of the same signature as the furry one.

The blue one were at least nice enough to explain their reason for being here, though it seemed like an honest thing to say, one could not be too certain with a race one have never met before, or at least one that one cannot remember.

Alumar let his mind think for a minute, the description he was given were all too exact, save the kid but the other one were a perfect match.

Chance would have it that Alumar lost a bet with a friend of his, and the looser were supposedly to take the first job offered to them buy a 3rd party. And chance would have it that it ended up being an assassination.
The one that gave him the job was not his employer, but a middle man, so he was not really sure to why he was hired to kill this person.
Ignoring this, Alumar had always liked a good fight, but sadly most of his targets tend to go down rather quick due to the difference in power.
But this one...

Alumar made a bow, politely enough replying to the question. “I am Alumar Loren; sadly I have been hired to kill you. A weird job I agree-“ he introduced himself before he continued in a lower voice “-I’m never betting with him again” the last part was mostly a whine to himself, it was not something he did often, but his curiosity took over and he ended up losing.
Taking a deep breath before exhaling, he continued as he started walking down the wall like he had walked up it, making a weird entry. “Don’t worry, I can feel at a distance that you are not an easy match, so instead of filling the contract, how about we have a fight, a sparring if you wish. As it seems much more interesting than a boring assassination” he smiled.
This were true, anyone could stab in the dark, providing that one had the opportunity for it.
Though, Alumar had not been in a head-to-head fight for well over millennia, so he decided to take the chance.

“So, what do you say?” he grinned towards the one with blue fur.

Jake's hands clenched, and the young man got into a ready position as the man named Alumar proclaimed his mission. Hera was less obvious in his reaction, but his mind raced. Who had hired him and why? From the man's description, it couldn't have been Sukani, else he wouldn't have been so surprised by Hera's appearance. It was possible that Sukani had forced someone else to do so, but Sukani loathed relying on others unless absolutely necessary. He needed to feel independent, free of restraint. His mistake, Hera thought wryly. Friends and family were the best things one could fight for.

During all of this thought and calculation, Alumar made a bold proclamation: he wanted to fight Hera, not just kill him. His mistake, Hera thought. I'm not one to be underestimated...but I won't make the same mistake with him. He cast his eye over Alumar, taking in the man's appearance.

Hmm...he looks human enough, but barring his energy signature, his appearance is too eccentric to really fit in with any of them. He's definitely an odd one. ...I'll have to be careful. Something tells me he will be unpredictable.

Hera opened his mouth to speak when Jake rushed forward. The boy had already changed into a Dragon by the time Hera called to him. "Jake, no!"

Jake stopped in his tracks, halfway between Hera and Alumar. "No? Whaddaya mean; he wants to kill us!"

"No, he wants to kill me." Hera reflected on this and corrected himself. "Sorry, he was hired to kill me. You may not want what you have to do." A deep, mirthless chuckle escaped Hera's lips.

"Wait outside. Even if he can best me in combat, I'm not about to be layed low when we still have things to do." Despite his bold words, Hera was not fully confident he could defeat this opponent so easily. No fool would send an untrained fighter to assassinate one such as Hera; he had a reputation for being strong and fast, an elite warrior of the highest calibre. He had more than seven million years of training under his belt, not the low-rate fighting prowess of a human.

Jake did as he was asked, though he sent Hera a look that told him that the boy had been thinking along the same lines as Hera: Be careful. You don't know what he can do.

Hera walked over to his sword, the Dragon Blade, and picked the zweihander up in one hand, lifting it effortlessly. Turning to face his opponent, he said, "Right, let's see what you're made of, youngling."

OOC: For this RPB, Alumar will have the following items in his 'pocket' (Read Deep Pockets spell) - 4x energy potions ~ they will recharge his whole energy reserve, but leave the mental fatigue.
- 5x common healing potions ~ they can heal up to moderate wounds in a few seconds.
- 1x vial of ‘wound healer’ ~ a small potion made by Alumar that needs only a few drops in a wound to close it almost immediately. Has enough in it to heal approx 50 moderate wounds. Though as used it will put on a slight physical fatigue as it uses the ‘patients’ own metabolism.
- Money, and plenty of it.
- His staff ~ Read the weapons tab, the Wand has been changed for a Staff.
- The bracelet if It’has ~ Red the items tab in the bio.
- His pipe ~ Read items in the bio.
- His flute ~ Read items in the bio.
- Various non-combat items ~ Will not be used in combat, items are such as food, drink, a map.. etc

-----------------------------------------------------------

Alumar smiled, the furry one seemed to have quite the wisdom behind him, not to mention a rather steady belief in his skills and powers. It was impossible to see on him if his skills were as safe as he seemed to think of, though judging by his words he seemed to be rather skilled,

Although the young boy changed into a dragon and charged Alumar, he did not move from his location, the blue one were not the only one that had a steady belief in his skills.
The dragon were stopped by a simple command by the other one, this made Alumar’s mind come up with reasons to why he obeyed this easily, but there were too many to consider just a few.

The dragon did as he was told, though he did not seem to be too glad about it. Oddly enough the dragon did not question the other one’s orders, if nothing else Alumar thought it was interesting.

After picking up a rather large, and unique, sword with only one hand, the blue one turned back towards Alumar.
"Right, let's see what you're made of, youngling."

Alumar wanted to correct him on his age, but for all he knows this one might be older then he was.
“As you wish” Alumar answered with a light bow before he widened his stance, left foot towards his opponent, whereas the right pointed slightly back, showing his left side and pointing his right away.
After a split second, his right had a 8inch (20cm) sphere in its palm, it was dimly colored yellow with a semi transparent look. This was sent towards Alumar’s foe at a rather high speed in a common throwing motion, whereas right after his left had formed a similar one which he sent towards the same target in what would be best explained as a ‘palm punch’. Both spheres were en route the furry one, one sphere being slightly ahead of the other.

Though Alumar’s mind, only one thought lied. If this opponent could not take care of this, he were not worthy of having a one-on-one fight with Alumar, so secretly he hoped that he would not be taken down by such a simple attack.

((OOC: Just to clear it up, Hera Ledro is unaware of Alumar's age. However, Alumar LOOKS very young. Hera's mistake, but still :wacky: ))

Hera Ledro was not caught unawares. The opponent let out a simple attack, one which Hera judged was simply to get an idea of the Allsie's skills in combat. The range was too great for it to be intended as an actual assault.

Still, Hera thought as he jumped more than ten feet in the air and flipped over both balls, I can't show him too much. I'll probe him, too; see what he's made of. If he can use energy like that, he can't be just any mean fighter.

Hera landed with his legs apart and slightly crouched, unfolding his wings so that they curved up and outward. He held his blade in his right hand, holding it behind his body. Bending his upper torso, he prepared to thrust himself towards his foe.

And so he did. One push of his legs was all it took to send him into the air. The blade dragged behind him as he pushed off, singing on its own wind as Hera propelled himself through the air with his energy.

When he was twenty feet above Alumar and ten feet to the fore, Hera flipped and threw his blade point first as he unfurled. The blade sang like a mad hornet as both gravity and the momentum carried through Hera's flip sent it searing towards his foe, chorusing a fierce deathly melody.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

((OOC: Uuuu, there's a giant sword thrown at you at nearly twenty miles per hour from 22.3607 feet away [yeah, I actually calculated the length of the triangle's hypotenuse :nerd: ]. Whatcha gonna do :awesome: ))

OOC: this ends up as the blade moving approx 32 km/h, which means it travels at roughly 8.8 meters per second. The distance from release was roughly 6 meters, which will mean that it will use just over a half a second to cover the distance.
However, you did quite some movement before releasing it, no doubt one would be able to see what you intended, even before it was done ^^
I know math too ya know ^^

-----------------------------------

Alumar grinned as the creature avoided his attacks with ease, this was a good thing or he would have had a very boring fight.
The spheres that missed its target, continued towards the wall. The one that were sent off first blew a rather large hole though the grown together trees, ending up with a rough 5 meter in diameter, whereas the other one flew through blowing off the crown of a tree some 20 meters on the outside.
None of them caused any forms of fire, weirdly enough. This was the effect of the Energy Blast, even though little energy was needed, it had a rather destructive force.

The blue fuzz extended its wings and lounged a simple attack, though the options a warrior could take as he jumped, or in this case flew, was not too varied, and ended up one a few choices. And as Alumar predicted, he chose one of them.
The oversized blade was released in a strong throw, managing to send to flying point first rather than spinning as one would assume from a throw.
Alumar, not being the slowest in the world, did a sidestep to the left, that had a sort of a spin to it, so to minimize the chance of a cut if he were to slow. The blade screamed in the air as it flew past Alumar’s body, not even an inch away. He wondered what would have happened if he were to try to block that force with a weapon of his own, he assumed something along the lines of broken bones and his back through the wall.

Not wanting to underestimate his opponent, he did not assume that he only used the blade, if so why did he have such a high level of energy radiating from his being?
As the sidestep was completed Alumar pondered his next move, he had many options but some were out of the question, such as fire.
Hold on? The opponent was still in the air, and Idea formed in Alumar’s head.
He widened his stance as he pointed his right palm in front, having an opposed stance then the last he took one in the start, around his hand a split second one could almost see the very air becoming pressurized. Suddenly it broke free and released as Gustof almost storm-like strength of air towards the flying creature.

-----------------------------
OOC2: In the future of this RP I will Bold and underline the spells he uses sometimes, so that it will be easier for you to recognize them if you need further info from the spell book in his bio.
So, in this case he used the spell 'Gust' ^^

Hera Ledro's spine took the hit as the gust blasted him full force, ripping his wings back and up. His mind racing, Hera Ledro did the only thing he could to stop from slamming into a tree trunk not thirty feet away: he allowed the gust to carry him.

Instead of flying head on, however, the Allsie allowed the force of the gale to flip his body so that he was slightly upside down and angled thirty degrees in the same direction as the wind's blast. Then, both with a small burst of energy and help from the wind itself, Hera shot downwards and escaped the gale in the nick of time. He had been less than ten feet away from the a branch jutting out of the tree trunk, threatening to skewer him had he not acted swiftly.

Flipping again and grabbing onto the aforementioned branch, Hera hung leaning with his feet against the trunk. So, he wants to fight with the elements? So be it.

A shower of pine needles fell down from the sudden blast of wind Alumar had released, and Hera made his own counterattack as the needles fell past him. He pushed off the trunk and cartwheeled upwards once and landed on the branch. During his flip, fire jetted out of his feet like twin whips, extinguishing themselves before they met the tree trunk. Pine needles were set ablaze; the fires were not large enough to set fire to the whole forest, but enough that they could cause a mild burn if they came into contact with flesh or fur.

Less than a second after his landing, Hera planted his feet firmly on the branch and thrust his hands forward with a roar. The result was a six foot wide wall of burning needles searing through the air towards Alumar.

Without waiting for his attack to connect, Hera sent a flare of energy through his body, activating his Light Account ability. A second later, Hera had landed on the ground from his perch (he had been amazed to see that he had been more than sixty feet above ground) and began running, his legs pounding like twin pistons as he ran towards his foe.

Hera swung his right arm down. A blade of pure energy arced from his forearm and carried down three feet beyond his clenched fist.

Then he swung the blade horizontally towards Alumar's gut.

Alumar kept smiling during the whole ordeal, as far as this it had been more of a high level sparring then an actual fight. The Furry one were blown into the air, though his skills with flight showed through with a great elegance.
Without much of a hassle, he seemed to take usage of it instead of even being confused by it. As his body hit, or rather landed, on the tree, it released a rain of pine needles, which he lit alight and sent towards Alumar’s location. He was taking advantage of the surroundings as well as the factors that were not set in motion himself, the mart of a seasoned fighter.
As the incoming needles were closing, Alumar did not fret about it, he simply unleashed a much weaker form of the same wind spell he just used, which extinguished and blew the needles away, causing no harm to anyone.

Alumar awaited the winged one’s attack anytime now, but instead what he got was a bright flash emanating from his body. Alumar having no irises, have somewhat a higher issue with brighter lights, so this was like starting into the sun for a second. It was to a degree painful and severely annoying.
As he looked back, it seemed as nothing had happened, beside it now being much brighter, slightly blurrier and immobile.
Why? What purpose did that have?
Suddenly, Alumar noted that his Detect Lifespell that were still active, showed him an image of his opponent somewhere else, his ears confirmed this shortly after.
Though, his eyes still clouded by a static image of the winged one, he managed to barely see what were going on.
Barely noting a bladelike object in his hand, Alumar did not have much time to react, in a controlled panic-like state; he reacted in a weird manor.
As he did his best to move away, he sent out a low level Energy blast towards the weapon, it would not be enough to damage it, nor to send it flying, but it would slow it enough so that Alumar could make his close avoiding.
As the force of energy was sent out, he immediately stepped back with a twist, hoping to minimalise the damage. As he spun away, he felt the gentle touch of a bladed object streaking its way barely touching the skin, ending his spin with a backwards jump that was then made into a backwards pinwheel move that gave him a few meters of distance where he managed to check his damages.
His ‘cut’ was shallow enough to have already closed, but it was just enough to allow a bare amount of blood to escape, making it a red line across his side.
Though the cape took most of the damage, as it had a cut through most of the side of it, his vest and shirt also took a similar damage.
Nothing severe, as it could be fixed at a later date.

The after image of the flash had started fading, but it were still strong in his vision, so Alumar would have to depend more on the idle Detect Life that he was smart enough to activate before the battle.
Not waiting for his opponent to launch a new attack, he initiated his retaliation.

Widening his stance as he inhaled before exhaling, ridding him of the rather low mental fatigue that formed from forcing his powers through his body at such a speed, he had already started his next attack.
Clapping his hands strongly together, he focused on the very sound waves created from his sharp clap, and in an instant the shockwave multiplied in size exponentially and was even barely visible to the naked eye. This shockwave were strong enough to damage many things around, such as the room they were in, but it would hardly kill someone, he mainly used it to gain an unconditional area of attack, before his next attack.
After the spell was successfully cast, he continued. The next motion was him taking a wide, sideways, stance, with his right palm facing his opponent, in a flash an Energy Beam of bright yellow color shot out from Alumar’s hand, it was aimed at his opponents torso, whereas it was far from the highest level of this particular spell, it would at least cause some damage.

OOC: Think how cool it would be to have this fight animated ^^

OOC: Actually, that's how this thing is playing in my head. Every move I write or read happens in real time within my head, and it animates it into a cartoon with an art style similar to the Redwall TV series (i.e. realistic art).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hera cursed inwardly as he curled up into a ball, a wave of sound slamming into his folded wings and sending him back a few feet. Already more than a tenth of his energy reserves had been expended, and he'd only made a scratch on his foe. Even still, it intrigued him to note that Alumar had a regeneration ability similar to his own, something which he had not encountered in races beyond the Allsies, their relatives and descendants, and one of their father races.

His blade was still active, and the smooth edge of the energy blade hummed as he unfolded his wings, only to face a beam of energy much like his own. As Hera barrel-rolled to the right, he couldn't help but mentally remark that he was fighting somebody skilled in arts almost identical to his own.

A slight dust cloud rose from the ground as Hera landed on his left hand and pushed off, skidding to a halt seven feet from his original landing position. Hera noticed something about his opponent: when he'd used his Light Account ability, it messed Alumar up. Based on the panic he'd been in (Why else, thought Hera, would he use such a weak attack to repel?), Hera deduced that Alumar was sensitive to light. Hera's mind ground to a halt, and he grinned widely as the idea bloomed into his head.

Hera disabled his energy blade and began to circle his arms slowly, a small wind rising up at his feet. He bent slightly and planted his feet wide, circling his hands at increasing speed. Within seconds, a dust cloud arose that reached up to his waist. At that, Hera thrust his hands down and blasted up a great cloud of dust and pine needles, which curled out and up for ten feet out in any direction.

Wasting no time, Hera dropped down on his back and twisted, his raised legs moving in a great circle as he milled about, creating a spiral of fire which reached outward into the dust cloud, which was slowly rising to its apex.

With a grunt of exertion, Hera put one final burst into the flame and pushed up on his hands, swinging his legs around and up, creating a wave of fire that melded with the dust cloud.

Hera's mind had not become feeble. He had kept his eyes closed for a reason: when the intensely hot flames met the massive cloud of dust, it put each grain of sand and clump of dirt shone brightly, creating a great light of innumerable and indiscernible colours as the dust heated up. Even Hera, crouched from the exertion in the centre of the cloud's eye, had to shield his eyes with his arms and wings. The light was dazzlingly bright.

The quarter energy cost had better be worth this, Hera thought grudgingly.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

OOC: That idea was actually inspired by the AD:JL episode, "The Isle of Draco", where Jake Long blows fire on dust to make it shiny and bright, forcing the brownies off of him. I just suped it up a bit :awesome:

As soon as the shock wave had left him, Alumar sent off the energy beam, though he blue creature managed to take the shockwave head on, it dodged the energy beam. Looking around himself after, Alumar surveyed the damage, the whole room had begun taking cracks here and here, and even more debris in the forms of toothpick sized pieces of wood were to be found, straight in front of Alumar there were a perfect and clear round hole from the beam he shot out, this hole would span through the trees and whatnot for at least a 50 meter distance.
Looking back at the creature he were fighting, it was now on its back and seemed to be whirling up dust and other particle sized pieces of debris.
Alumar not taking chances of another light blast this time he lowered his hat down so to shield the opponent and the dust cloud, using his Detect Life spell that would be active for several minutes yet.

The creature did as Alumar expected, however he underestimated the strength of it, whereas he managed to shield the center of light with his hat, it still shone brightly through it. Though this were not the problem, the problem was the light reflected off the walls and floor that ended up blinding Alumar’s eyes as they were not closed.

Letting out a clear grunt he fell to his knee, rubbing his eyes, they were burning. He would not dare to think how it would work if he were to look directly at it, this was already much worse than the flash it already did to him.
And that was almost gone, now he had this.

Still ‘seeing’ his opponent with his idle spell, he had little in terms of vision of this time so he had to focus his senses on feeling. As everyone with a usable level of energy himself, had a way to sense other energy flows in the world. Whereas this was relative to the power that one held, Alumar had a rater reliable energy sense, so he could sense the creature as well as any energy buildups. Or so he hoped as he got to his feet.
He had his eyes closed, as they were burning for the moment, or at least they felt like it, thinking about it now he planned to create some form of eye drops to counteract this at a later date.

Standing sort of wobbly, using his hat to cover his face down to the middle bridge of his nose, his smile and grin were gone, as most would not smile when one is in pain. The ‘now and then’s ‘ that Alumar tried to open his eyes at this time, they were bloodshot red instead of the clean white they used to be, signaling the same effect as staring into the sun for a few minutes, he assumed his cornea had taken a temporary damage, it would heal itself during the course of not too long as he assumed they would be perfect again in 10 minutes or so.

He could still see, but everything was a blur and somewhat brighter as his rod cells were damaged in the light. A good thing for Alumar was that even though he was very sensitive to light, his eyes balanced this by getting accustomed to light and healing them fairly fast, though this flash was hardly normal.
Judging by everything, Alumar could only assume that his opponent had discovered his eyes sensitivity to light, though he was not about to give up just yet.

As his grin slowly came back to his lips, he did not want his opponent on his back slip through his fingers, he wanted to use it. Originally planning on healing his eyes with his magic, he came to the conclusion that his sense of energy and the detect life spell should make up for it, so an offensive move were in order.

Before the creature did much movement, Alumar had pointed his palms towards the creature, and the energy toll had already been spent. Like the shockwaves he used before, this was very much like this, though it had focused all the Sound in a single cone emanating from his palms, aimed for the opponent.

OOC: Aye, I have the same effect in my mind, but it would be much cooler to actually SEE it animated by some skilled people ^^

OOC: I see you, too, have named yourself after your main RP Character :awesome: AWESOMENESS!!1!!!111!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hera's ears flicked, and he could have sworn he'd heard a sound akin to a kukri being thrown in the air. Out of instinct, Hera rolled to the right, keeping his eyes shut tight to protect them from the cloud around him. It still shone like a miniature sun.

It didn't fully save him. A hole was blasted through his right wing, ripping in a circular motion against the wing as Hera rolled. Immediately after righting himself and crouching on his left knee, Hera drew the injured wing in close and gasped audibly. It was a rare occasion that he let his wings get damaged, and even rarer that he was caught off guard so easily.

Luckily for Hera, the solitary pond in the fortress was on the edge of the dust cloud. Feeling around with his mind for the water, Hera channeled his energy and grasped it. From his semi-kneeling position, he brought his right hand up and around, pulling the water towards him in a small stream. He heard steam billow up as the stream pushed through the air above the now-molten material. Continuing his fluid motion, Hera brought the water around in a circle and expanded it until it covered the entire diameter of the molten circle.

During all of this, little fires had sprouted where the molten material had landed on dead pine needles and cones, and they were beginning to coalesce with one another, steadily creating a larger fire. When the disk of water had expanded as far as necessary, Hera whirling his left hand all the while keeping the growing disk above ground with his right, Hera released the flow of energy and allowed the water to fall over the disk.

All in little more than ten seconds.

The manoeuvre served two main purposes, in Hera's eyes. First and foremost was that it prevented the fire from spreading, dousing the flames the instant it met them. The second was providing another cover. The molten material was hot enough that it forced the water into its gaseous state of steam. The steam rose rapidly and engulfed the area in the disk's immediate vicinity, effectively concealing Hera from view.

Now able to open his eyes, Hera was greeted with a wall of vapourized water, concealing his exact whereabouts from his opponent.

But now nearly half his energy horde had been depleted, and if he kept going on like that, he'd have none left.

So he transformed.

In the span of six seconds, all but the last of which were dedicated to focusing his energy, the power in Hera's body fluctuated and burst, forcing his body into a state that would accomodate the massive influx.

Hera's fur became silver, his hair gold, and his claws and tail blade copper. His muscles bulged slightly, and he became surrounded by an aura of electrifying energy, the almost-invisible arcs leaping across his fur rapidly as his energy was fully recharged*.

But with his change in power came a change in perspective. Hera lost all thoughts of defending and standing ground. With a blast of wind, Hera cleared the steam between himself and Alumar, jumping high into the air in a back-flip with his legs full-stretch and his left foot in front of his right. From his feet he loosed an arc of fire which raced towards his foe.

Hera landed and whirled his arms up and around, thrusting them forward and sending a beam of pure energy** towards his foe.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

* - Note that the Ledrai Allsie forms only recharge 75% of Hera's new energy capacity. Up to the time immediately before his transformation, Hera had used approximately 45% of his energy stores. Also, his energy capacity doubles, but he retains a percentage of his energy equal to half of the percentage in the original state. In essence, here's the mathematical representation (where e = original energy capacity):

F1 = 0.65e
F2 = 0.5F1
F2 = 0.325e

** - Recall that the Ledrai Allsie form doubles Hera's energy capacity. There are, therefore, two options which are available upon using an energy skill (this is noted in the bio): the attack deals the same amount of damage and has the same effect, but takes (percentage-wise; refer to note * on energy capacity) half the energy cost; conversely, Hera can double the damage and effectiveness, but it takes the same percentage of energy that it would take from the original form. Here's the equation (where ci = energy cost in First Form (ii= Second form); b = energy beam; Fx = form number x; e = 100c)

F1b = 0.1ci
F2 = 2e
F2b = 0.05cii OR F2b = 0.1cii

OOC: You don't have to do the math for everything, I watched you complete Hera, I have most of his stuff explained to me by yourself already.
Much alike what was with You and Alumar ^^

And yes, I chose to take on Alumar's name for a while as my username. It felt appropriate ^^
----------------------

Still not being able to see, Alumar were completely reliant in his passive skills, though they were doing the job.
His opponent spread out some water on the ground, the sounds, his movements and the way the energy moved suggested this. And shortly after the hissing sound of hot particles extinguishing in the now wet floor suggested the same. The air was now fairly damp, enough in fact to extinguish the fires that had formed in the room due to the previous abilities.

Though, Alumar was fairly surprised at what his opponent did after.
Charging up energy, Alumar prepared for an attack, but were just sent face first into a surprise as the creature evolved in front of him. Perhaps it was more as changing a form then evolving, but the end result were often rather alike.
A movement later and the damp air cooled down, forcing the steam to moisturize the walls and fall back to the floor as water.
Focusing back on his opponent, Alumar noted an incoming attack; his instincts had already identified the element and the proper reaction.
In his right hand a sphere of water had formed, and just before sending it flying, the left hand swiped through it changing its form from the sphere to an explosion of water in the direction of the fire spell extinguishing it upon contact.
Though, this was apparently something to draw his attention, as the creature seemed to have landed already and had sent of another attack. Not being able to feel the element, he deducted that this was an energy attack.
It resembled his own beam attack to a striking likeness which meant it was bound to the same laws and ways of using.

There was not enough time to do too much, so he did what he could do to give himself more time.
His eyes flashed a barely visible yellow hue as he had them open as he awaited his vision to get better, as soon as the flash faded; he had cast his Haste spell, heightening his speed a rough 5 times.
Even with his newfound speed, he barely missed the beam, making a perfect round hole in his cape.
This battle seemed worse for his attire then his body; though he did not have time to go on about this now, it would have to be stitched together at a later time.

Now it was his time, his higher speed should give him some advantage, though he did not want to underestimate the new form his opponent had.
Starting a dash to his opponent’s left side (meaning Alumar ran to his own right side) he formed 4 ice lances out of the water on the floor and sent them towards his opponent as he was still running, meaning that they were sent towards Hera from slightly different points. All aimed at the torso area.

OOC: Aye, but the math isn't for you, it's for any readers of this battle that are thinking, "Wait...huh?!"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whoa, quite the speed boost, Hera noted calmly, watching his foe circle him. Keeping his eyes fixed on his opponent, Hera dodged the hurtling ice spears by side-stepping two feet to his left, turning slightly clockwise as he did. As he did so, Hera raised his right hand fluidly and drew a long stream of water up and around his body.

He wants to use Ice? Ice it is, then... With a quick flick of his wrist, the stream of water encircled him and became spherical, enclosing his body within an orb of shimmering water seven feet wide. The strain was taxing on Hera's energy, so he made his move quick. Pointing the index and middle finger of his right hand, Hera sent a quick jolt of electricity, carrying into the orb around him*.

Through all of this, Hera had begun to float off the ground, both he and the sphere surrounding him rising four feet off the ground. Once he reached the apex of his hover, Hera brought his arms, legs, and wings in, clenching his palms as he pulled his body into a ball. Immediately, the spherical layer of water around him froze, crystallizing into a giant ball of ice.

With a roar that could be heard even from the outside of the ice ball, Hera thrust his arms, legs, and wings out and burst the ice ball, scattering the charged shards in a burst of energy.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

* - The orb is NOT a solid ball of ice. Instead, it is just a spherical layer of water (approx. one foot in thickness) which is around Hera. By the end of the whole attack process (which actually took only ten seconds in real time), Hera lost one eighth of his energy. The amount of electricity required to isolate its current in the water/ice was rather large, and when we factor in the hydro-kinesis, cryo-kinesis, and energy pulse, it became quite a tax.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

OOC: So, obviously that means that there's a storm of ice shards coming straight for you, no matter where you run. Easy enough to counter :P

OOC: Oh how fun it would be to slip into the Timer form and rip you a few new ones. But alas, it is not to be used in a RPB situation ^^
----------------------------------------

The spears of ice did not do too much, if anything at all. The winged one simply sidestepped out of the way.
Alumar grinned slightly as he did not really expect it to hit, though considering this he did not even know why he was doing things like this.
He was toying with him? Not really doing much of the serious stuff, simply testing his limits?
Or was that he was actually trying and the furry one was just better than he anticipated.

It seemed it was all above, without bringing out the really heavy stuff, Alumar were using the weaker spells as a test of sorts, as well as the enjoyment of one that have even lasted this long, and seemingly could go on for quite the while longer.

Stopping up for a minute, he watched as his opponent cased himself in ice, or rather at first it was like a shield of water that were frozen shortly after.
In Alumar’s hasted state it was almost as if the creature he fought were moving slightly slower than normal, which were an effect of the spell.

In a hear beat, the sphere of ice were shattered into a hail of jagged and pointy ice fragments. As of now there where one safe location, and this was where his opponent stood.
The options of what he could do raced through his mind, though no one of them made as much sense as to block.
His left hand was extended, and almost as soon as it reached that state a large semi-transparent half-orb formed in front of him, it had a yellow tint to it, almost as if looking through a block of ice with yellowish colorations.
As the shards of ice shattered or bounced of the shield, it made a ripple effect across its surface, almost as throwing a pebble into the water.

Alumar widened his stance, all of the recent spells he had cast had finally caught up with him, and the mental toll started to form. It was not yet to a stage where he had to take precautions but it had reached a state where he started to feel it.
His eyes had become usable, nowhere near perfect, but usable as one could assume the second one step outside into daylight after waking up. So the finer details were still out but he could at least see again.

He stood behind his shield and waited until it was relatively safe to go around its protected area.
Alumar’s greatest strength were his large pool of energy, it surpassed not only most humans but most creatures in all, adding his not too small knowledge of spells makes him somewhat able to go on for quite some time.

The hail of ice were more or less over, all that remained were the ‘snow’ that came of the ones that had shattered against the Energy Shield and the walls, as interesting as it seemed that Alumar and his opponent had been exchanging offensive and defensive actions quite evenly so far, it only made him chuckle.

He rounded the semi-sphere of energy that remained grounded where it was created and not wanting to waste more time.
Not to mention that his opponent had changed form a while ago and he was not hoping to find out what he was capable of.
Focusing his energy in his hands, he clapped hard, much harder than the last time he used the Shock Wave spell. The energy toll was much higher, but as was the damage it did.
A shockwave, this time visible to the naked eye expanded from Alumar’s body. The ‘snow’ in the air was pushed away, as were the water on the ground. The shield was immediately ‘shattered’ but this was due to the magical nature of Alumar’s spell. As Alumar’s spell was created almost only by magical force, and were not as physical as the ice shards that his opponent sent out, the shield collapsed almost as soon as the magical energy hit it.
This time, the explosion would be enough to tear the room they were in somewhat apart; it would crack it at the least.

Alumar widened his stance as soon as it left his body; the energy flowed into the wave and out of his being. He was slightly drained, now to a level where he started showing physical signs.

OOC: At last :gasp: TIME TO POST!

And Timer isn't to be used in any situation >_> Obvious reasons are obvious.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hera watched his opponent behind the shield. "Looks like I've got a real challenge on my hands here," he muttered. "Excellent; I love a good challenge."

As Hera's opponent parted his hands, Hera placed his palms on the ground. He knew what was coming; the movements were synonymous to previous ones.

An instant before the clap, Hera reached back with his left leg and set his foot on the ground. Drawing his hands up fluidly from the ground and pulling back, he drew a long semi-spherical wall of stone up from the ground, arching up and above his head.

Then the shockwave hit. The wall's angle of instance allowed for it to take minimal pressure from the shockwave, but there was still formidable force behind it. By the time it had passed, Hera's wall was cracked and fissured all around it's edges. Dust permeated the air, making it thick as pea soup.

When Hera stood up and flicked aside his remaining shield with a slap of his hand, he stared into his opponent's eyes, grinning the whole time. His voice was low and content as he called accross to his opponent. "Well, it seems we have ourselves an interesting match-up. We're both skilled in the more...arcane arts." A quick stomp of Hera's foot sent his distant Dragon Blade up into the air. A quick pull of his hand sent the blade soaring through the air, landing handle-first in the ground. Hera bent down and grabbed it, his hearts soaring as he realized he'd finally have a challenge from somebody aside from his brother or grandson.

As he swung the blade experimentally, making elegant sweeps up and down, Hera called out, "But let's see how you do in melee range." His flashing sword came to a halt with its point slightly above the ground. His tail blade caressed the sword's edge, making a scraping sound as it ran along the keen blade.

A split second later, Hera dashed forward. Not even fifty feet separated the two, so it was the work of a moment to cross half that distance. Hera's muscles bulged as he jumped into the air.

Once airborne, Hera activated his Light Account skill again, routing energy into his fur and creating another flash. In the instant after, Hera dodged to the left and landed, twirling arund and making for a slash to the head with his Dragon Blade.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

OOC: This would be an excellent time to test out Alumar's Blade Form. I must admit, I'm curious as to its potency.

OOC: I will use a slightly different appearance then described in the bio, the reason for this is that I has to change a few things, adding detail here and there, and with the entry of a few items so do this carry over in his forms.

-------------------------------------

Alumar’s spell tore the walls apart, some of them just shredded into a rain of particles toward the ground whereas some fell in chunks. Most of the interiors took some damage from it, but his opponent seemed to have conjured up a wall of a rather high strength, if it were not for it he might have taken quite the damage. Alumar silently praised the quick thoughts of his mystery opponent.

Alumar smiled to the creature in front of him, whereas Alumar liked a challenge as well, he doubted it would be too much if he let it all out as he was hardly fighting at his fullest, though as his opponent seemed to be more of a melee fighter, he had his assumption that it was not fighting at its best as well.
If one considered it, if this creature was indeed a better melee fighter then spell caster, Alumar would defiantly have the upper hand if he chose to go all out with his spells, though this also meant that if Alumar focused on spells, and the creature got in close, Alumar might find himself in the deepest of shit.
So, it was far from a stalemate, but no one of them seemed to want to admit that the other holds more skill in his opposing way of fighting.

“As much as I’d like to go all out in my… Arcane part-“ Alumar started, nodding a weird motion as he mentioned ‘arcane’. “-I think it would prove for a too short of a fight” he grinned to his opponent.
“Although, I won’t try and hide that as I am now you best me in melee” he stated as he made a gentle bow.

The haste spell had worn off some seconds ago, if it were due to time limit or Alumar himself one could not know, but it had happened nonetheless.
A scraping sound managed to echo across the lack of walls in the room they stood as the apparent blade like part of his tail seemed to be more than just an ornament. It was suddenly stopped by him dashing towards Alumar, and jumping shortly after.
Not taking any chances this time Alumar kept his eyes closed and focused on the Detect Life spell he renewed not too long ago, just in case.
His assumption seemed to be correct as a flash of energy where exhausted from his body; he assumed it was the flash thing again.
As the creature dodged to one side, its motion suggested an incoming attack. Alumar, not really in the mood of being split in half at this point, dodged of his own, sending a weak Energy Blast into the ground where he stood, both to propel him further and make a small smoke screen between himself and his opponent.

As he got some 10 meters away from his opponent by usage of a few jumps and the weak shockwave from the blast he let loose a second ago, he turned around. Grinning to himself as he doubted the furry one could see his face.
He immediately began focusing his energy, it was an important thing of what he was about to do, he was about to alter his body considerably, and the energy he was compressing now was what could change it to the degree that was needed. As not only would he change his physical shape, gaining more speed and strength, he would alter the very way the energy that stirs within his body worked.

A rough 10 seconds later, his body flashed in a deep blue flash, not strong enough to blind anyone, but well enough to shine through the room.
Not only did his aura change, but his very appearance had changed.
He stood with his feet apart, with his left shoulder towards the winged one. His attire had changed from the cape and hat, to a set of dark brown leather armor, now hatless his hair was still the same length as before but instead of it hanging loose it was how braided in a single braid along his back. His white eyes were clearly visible behind a pair of spherical lenses sunglasses, where the lenses were a rough 4cm in diameter held together by a black wireframe.
But the biggest change of all, were the object in his hands.
In-between his hands he held the handle of a dual edged broadsword, the rip pointed towards the creature he fought with the blade parallel to the ground, each sharp edge aligned horizontal.

“And Melee you shall have” he grinned as the smoke cleared away, showing his new appearance to his foe.

Not planning on having the possible confusion slip away from him, he launched an attack, darting towards his opponent’s left side, feigning an attack but in reality kicking off the wall to get to his right side and let a strike towards the sides of the furry one’s side in a clock-wise spin, bringing the blade around towards his back aiming to go through.

Hera landed and rolled backwards, digging his blade into the ground to slow his progress. He placed himself behind the large blade and kept it angled in the event of an energy attack; an improvised shield.

Hera was about to make another move when a flash illuminated the room, making him squint slightly. When the flash and dust subsided, he found himself looking at a different form of his opponent. Alumar was clothed almost exclusively in light leather protection, and in his hands he held a broadsword.

Hera's hearts soared again. A test in melee! Oh how he had waited for such a match. Most of his opponents were cowards, fighting only at range with spells or physical weaponry, most often guns of some sort. But a melee fighter was hard to come by, even if it wasn't their specialty. Tactically, range was advantageous, but only if the opponent was unskilled in evasion. Melee range was the real test of a warrior's limits, the test of action and reaction under pressure.

Then his opponent launched himself at Hera, feigning a strike to Hera's left and instead pushing off the walls, gaining momentum as he spun and made a strike towards Hera's right side. It was the work of a moment for Hera to rotate his body and raise the blade, blocking his opponent's own weapon in a shower of sparks. He has speed, Hera thought as he moved back a pace, bringing his blade down to his side. Certainly more than I'd bargained on, but not enough to catch me off-guard. Let's test him, then...

Hera circled his opponent for a few feet and then launched himself, raining four heavy blows: one to the right side and one to the left successively, ending by splitting his blade and crossing his arms, making a dual horizontal slash as he uncrossed them.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

OOC: I'm back! Almost done my graveyard shifts, so I'll be able to be a bit more active both here and otherwise.

Alumar was hoping that his attack would hit, but if such a simple attack were to hit it would only lower his impression of the blue one. Though it seemed as the creature did not expect for an upgrade in speed, but who cares, it seemed as it was happy at least.

It launched an attack of its own, as Alumar had yet to test out the weight of the sword it used he had little choice than to over compensate as he blocked the first blow just to be safe.
As the blow connected, it was surprisingly lighter than he expected, though it was a Zweilhander and not exactly light per se, it was lighter then the appearance stated.
The next attack was blocked just as easy, though the next one caught him off guard. It split the sword into 2 different ones, and used both in a dual horizontal sweep.
There was a fraction of a second where Alumar were confused, but snapped out of it in a heartbeat as there were more pressing matters at hand.

Not taking the chance that his single blade would be able to block both blades without creating an opening for attack, he chose to dodge instead, throwing his own broadsword into the air to his rear, he made a cartwheel flip backwards. As he got back on his feet, he had gotten a rough 2m of distance from the blades as they swooshed by, creating a whipping sound suggesting its aerodynamics were close to perfect.
Re-grasping his own blade as it came back down he thought for a second, the creature he fought had 2 blades, not to mention a rather nasty one growing out of his tail he was still not 100% on. It had speed and contrary to Alumar’s state it should still be able to use its magic.

Alumar thought of testing out something, hopefully it would not go too bad.
Blade in his right hand he darted towards the fuzzy one and launched a flurry of light blows, alternating with some heavy ones here and there, but his main goal was to get in close. As he got close enough, he was to attempt a back-flip kick towards the creature’s jaw.
