Divine Balance: Hera Ledro vs. Alumar

The majority of the blows Hera dodged, using his swords and tail blade to block the rest. The glorious clang of metal on metal and metal on bone was almost deafening as Hera brought his full strength and ferocity to bear. A flip-kick caught him under the chin, but there wasn't enough power behind it to do much beyond jerk his head back. Hera snapped it forward again and re-constructed his blade in a whirl of silver and red metal, gripping it at-the-ready with his right hand.

"Nice," Hera commented dryly. "A bit more power behind that and you might have given me whiplash." Hera did a quick flourish with his blade and charged it with electricity, grinning as the sparks jumped from his hand onto his blade. With a roar, Hera lunged forward, his blade swinging around in a sparking arc as he flourished it.

"Come on!" Hera cried, stabbing forward with the Dragon Blade. At the last second he re-directed it, whirling around and slashing horizontally, his blade following the wings being forced into Alumar's face. But it was the tail which was to be the main offender:

Its blade aimed to hook Alumar's ankles. And only one thing would happen if something that sharp came into contact with flesh...

Alumar felt his foot connecting, though as he again got to his feel after the back flip, his opponent was still standing and at most he had taken a step or two back.
Alumar regained his posture quick enough and could not do anything but grin at the creature’s statement.
Apparently Alumar had underestimated his opponent’s strength, and overestimated his own.

After an invitation halfway shouted from the blue fuzz it initiated an attack.
With what seemed like an electrified blade he lounged forward, only to suddenly spin around, forcing Alumar to dodge or get a mouthful of wing. As soon as the wings were dodged the large sparkly blade was en route towards Alumar’s body as well.
Whereas that would be a nasty thing to get in one’s face, instinctively Alumar lifted his blade to block it. The wooden handle with leather wrappings kept him safe from the tines that got accustomed to the metal on Alumar’s blade quite fast. Though as it did this the blade started to glow a faint blue color.
As this happened, Alumar barely picked up a faint sound of “something-is-moving-though-the-air”, diverting his eyes to the sounds location his brain instinctively took over for a sec and in a single fluent movement he released the strength used to hold the large blade of his opponent stationary, making it whip past his head as his own blade was stabbed into the floor with enough force to halt the incoming blade.
Right after the sound of hardened bone against metal had left his ears, he first now noticed that the tip of the tail blade was not halted, at least not until it had made a horizontal cut on Alumar’s leg. Whereas he was lucky enough that it was far from a deep cut, it was only now he started to understand how large of a threat it was.

Withdrawing his blade from the floor, taking care of the reach of the tail blade, he jumped back a meter or so, only to take another step making the distance a rough two meters.

Alumar’s blade was still glowing a blue color as he lifted it to a higher height. Alumar grinned slightly as the blade suddenly started to let out sparks of its own clearly stating that it had borrowed the element that it came into contact with.
“I’m borrowing this” he stated as he waved the blade in a slight motion just before starting an attack of his own.
He darted forwards the short distance and started with several light blows, taking care of the tail blade. After a small flurry had been made, he jumped backwards and made a single strong wave diagonal from his upper left to his lower right, unleashing the energy stored in the weapon as a crescent moon shaped ‘blade’ of energy that traveled towards his opponent at great speed. Though this was a decent attack in itself, Alumar was not letting the possible opening slide away, as soon as he had let the energy blade fly, he followed it attempting a horizontal cut, right to left, aimed at the fuzzball’s gut.

Once Alumar began to close in, Hera bent down slightly. When the seeking blade was in range, Hera casually flicked his sword and deflected the first strike, backpedalling to avoid the others. The fact that his opponent had - for lack of a better word - stolen his electricity did not escape his attention. It was, however, of little consequence; using electricity to augment his Dragon Blade took sparce energy, and it did not have a great deal of power.

In fact, the energy arc that his opponent had launched seemed to be a far more pressing matter, especially since his opponent was following up with his own melee assault.

An instant of thought was all it took to think up an effective defence. Hera stepped forward slightly and rotated his body counter-clockwise by ninety degrees, bending backwards slightly and allowing the energy wave to pass him by. He did not stop there, however, and instead allowed his body to fall backwards all the way, dodging the horizontal slash of the Alumar's blade. Hera was still falling by the time the slash had followed through, and so he twisted his body and pushed forward, extending his wings and gliding only a few inches above the ground. He came to a stop and righted himself, landing softly on the forest floor.

"Not bad, kid," Hera said. He began to pace Alumar, a grin plastered on his face. "Not bad at all. You've got skill there, but I noticed something in your fighting: you can't manipulate the elements in that form.

"No, I can see it. You only managed to use that arc after you absorbed electricity from my blade. Neat trick, but hardly useful in melee combat. That type of skill is best saved for later uses, when your opponent is least expecting it. Saving charged up abilities works, especially when you and your opponent are focused on the battle at hand; they'll often forget, giving you an opening to use that attack to devastating effect.

"So on that note, perhaps you'd like to return to your original form and battle me that way. All arrogance and humility aside, you're grossly outmatched by me in melee combat, and you seem to be far more adept at the arcane arts than you are in melee. I'd even go so far as to say that, at this point, you're stronger than I am in those arts. Who knows, I might have to change forms again myself. But..." The grin vanished from Hera's face, replaced by a look of complete seriousness. "I doubt that will happen. You're too weak in your melee defense, and you've used that sound-shockwave skill enough that I know how to counter it." Hera tapped the side of his head. "You may not have gone all-out yet - I'd be surprised if you were fighting at even a quarter of your abilities, to be honest - but neither have I, and I've seen enough of your melee defense to know how to crack it. But do you know my weaknesses, yet?"

Even facing death, Hera remained the teacher. So it was that when he stopped his pacing, he ascended to the next level of Ledrai Allsie. With his energy still relatively high, the transformation was almost instantaneous, as was the minor shockwave that exploded from his body. His body shone for a split second before the changes could be observed.

Hera's fur, once silver, was now a pure white. Arcs of lightning (which had been almost invisible before) flashed across his body in streaks. The Allsie's body seemed to have shrunk in its muscular mass, and the tail blade likewise seemed condensed. His hair, eyes, and eyebrows had adopted a pitch-black colouration, and his tail blade and claws shone iridescent silver. His tail, now a whole foot longer, lashed about and smacked down onto the ground, creating several small fissures in the vicinity.

Hera cracked his neck before addressing his foe. "It's a pity that you're trying to kill me; someone with your talent should be doing more with his life than just being a hired assassin. Still, you've got to - how do those humans say it again?...ah! - put bread on the table. Risking your life for some cash seems a poor way to live, though." Hera stared upwards into the sky. It had only been ten, maybe fifteen minutes since he and Alumar began fighting, and already he could feel the cold of night seeping through the leaves.

"Jake and I have to get back soon," Hera said quietly, returning his gaze to Alumar. "So let's make this quick." He drew his blade and readied himself, perfectly aware that his opponent still had more tricks up his sleeve.

Alumar got to a casual stance, his blade being held idly pointed to the ground. He disregarded being called kid for now, whereas he assumed that he himself was polder than his opponent, he could not be completely certain due to lacking too many facts.
“Whereas you are right, if you went all out in melee, I doubt Id last half as long as I have for now. You are right on several points.-“ as he continued talking, he stabbed his blade into the floor ahead of himself making it stand hilt up. “-This sword, it cannot hold the elements it has borrowed for too long, so sadly it has to be used within a relative short time. You are also correct about my skills within the arcane as you call it. Whereas I have yet to unleash my full potential, I honestly did not think you as powerful as you are, so there is a sense of respect in there.”

He inhaled deeply, before he went on. “I agree on the whole assassination thing, I rarely, if ever, do it on a normal basis, but I lost a bet and here I am. If you believe me or not is your thing” he smiled as he waved it away with his left hand. Whereas he continued to answer his opponent, he could not shake that one line he mentioned. *Change forms again*. How much stronger could this thing become?
“If I know your weaknesses? Heh, I’m not completely sure about that, but I have my ideas” he grinned as he gave his opponent a little wink as he stated the last part.
“Regardless of what you say, if I win or lose, I have long since decided not to kill you, you are the only one that have survived my spell casting to the level I have used it so far and that alone is worth something.”
He picked out his blade from the ground and started to inspect the blade. “I’m sorry to say that I will not return to my arcane form, if you will allow me to test out another thing before I do.” He smiled as he looked up from the blade and into Hera’s eyes. Though it might be hard to see exactly where Alumar focuses his eyes due to the lack of Iris’es, one can generally feel that sort.

Alumar threw the blade up into the air, this was neither a decoy nor a petty attempt in attacking, it was just a way to get rid of the sword temporary.
As the blade was on its way into the air, and slowly started its decent, Alumar had already accumulated the nesses airy energy to change form
An aura of purplish colored lights and smokes encased Alumar for a short while, where he disappeared from sight even a novice spell caster would have enough skill to sense his whereabouts.
The lights were only around his body, whereas the smoke lingered in the nearby area.
Suddenly, in a flash of shadows and purple lights, Alumar had again changed attire, or at least this was what it was to the untrained eye. His aura had changed to an almost fluctuating one.

His hair was in the same braid as he had in the sword slinger form, he wore all black clothes beside the dark purple coat he had above.
He still wore the sunglasses as before, and on his back there dangled a blade in its scabbard.
His body had a slight increase in body mass due to stronger muscles, though it seemed more agile than before, most likely due to the change in attire.

He simply smiled. “Let us call this a test in your adaptability, as we can call it a test of my skills against you” he stated, standing completely still, not doing anything that could be suggested as an attack or defense, ironically passive and non aggressive for a battle.
“Should we let the teacher have the first movement” he smiled as he did a ‘casual wave’ suggesting that the teacher he mentioned was Hera.

OOC: To the ones reading (if there are any) Hera has given me permission to use my Portaleer form and the skills that follow it.

OOC: Uuuu! The clash of the Titans begins :awesome:

...A much larger version of that smily would still phail epically at expressing the anticipation in my system!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The mage's speech intrigued Hera Ledro. This level of spellcasting? Hera thought, completely nonplussed. What in the world does he mean that I'm the only one to survive such a level? Surely the warrior breed is not dying out that quickly, is it?

It came as no surprise, though, when Alumar Loren transcended into another form. As he stated, he would not resume his original form, but rather took on a new and - if his statement was anything to go by - experimental form. This form was radically different from the others; not by appearance, but the energy fluctuations. They were neither more powerful nor weaker, but of a different frequency altogether. The wavelengths were insanely foreign to Hera's experience; nothing he had ever felt before even came close to matching this. It was almost - Oh, how I hate cliches, Hera grumbled mentally - otherworldly.

How many forms does he have? Hera thought. At first, he assumed that they were pointless. The first form had done nothing but improve his skills in melee. But, upon reflection, Hera realized that sometimes one skill was all it took. It just depended on what that skill was.

His warrior's curiousity aroused, Hera cocked his head at Alumar's new form. "You want me to attack first? And you're testing my adaptability?" Wow, he must really be confident. I REALLY can't underestimate him; he's not the arrogant type. Hmm...looks like I won't be getting back to my brothers anytime soon. "Alright Alumar, I'll bite."

Hera's transformation urged him to ignore it, that it was clearly some sort of trap. That much was obvious, in Hera's opinion. However, there was something intriguing about this new form. First and foremost was that Hera could not identify its main ability or set of abilities*. There was something different, though, something that almost called to him...

Hera moved his hands fluidly and brought water around his body, forming it into a ball from the water in the lake. Hera's fingers clenched, and the ball hardened into a smooth orb of ice, which fell neatly into his open palm. Using his massive strength, Hera hurled the ball at a moderate speed** towards Alumar. What was going to happen?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

* - The fact that Alumar's energy has only changed, not increased, is what fuels Hera's logic here.

** - So, considering Hera's strength, that would be about 140 mph. The fastest baseball throw in the world only clocks in at about 105 mph, so considering Hera's current strength, this is actually quite slow D=

OOC: Don’t worry, I’m anxious as well, I have never used the form before so nag at me if I’m going overboard, which I most likely will do. ^^

----------------------------

Alumar chuckled. “You’re biting eh? You a fish or something?” this was a petty attempt of humor on Alumar’s side, this battle had long since turned into a friendly sparring, a test of his own skills if you will.
As the creature in front of him started conjuring something with the pool of water in the room, Alumar made himself more ready.
Widening his stance slightly, he grasped the handle of the blade on his back.
“Let us dance” he grinned as the water formed an orb and fell into the creatures hand as ice.

As soon as the movement needed to throw the ice object was started, it was clear what was going to happen, instead of doing something to defend himself, he started a dash towards the fuzzball.
The ice orb closed in distance as Alumar still did not alter his direction, though suddenly a “hole” in mid air opened and closed just as soon as the ice orb disappeared through it, the orb suddenly found itself at Hera’s left side, aimed at his rough torso area. The ‘hole’ that opened were there all too short to be inspected, even by the sharpest eyes, though a trained and skilled person might at least get a glimpse of it.
At the same time, Alumar drew his blade and used a drawing cut –where one attacks with the drawing movement- aimed at Hera’s torso.

OOC: Sorry for the short post, Ill try to do better the next one ^^

When Hera's own projectile appeared right at his side, his mind crashed. He didn't feel it as it slammed into his side, dealing moderate blunt damage to his muscle tissue, nor did he register the fact that it shattered upon impact with him remaining standing in place. The only thing that went through his mind was, I threw it there, it should be there, but now it's over here. It was so unbelievable that Hera's mind went into instinct mode, and out of reflex used his tail blade to block Alumar's sword swipe, hooking the sword with the curved part of his tail blade.

Everything Hera ever thought about matter transportation began to fizzle in his massive brain*. Alumar just created a wormhole. In the middle of the forest fortress. Without destroying or creating anything to siphon the energy.

Hera's eyes narrowed calculatingly as he looked down at Alumar. "You can create wormholes." It wasn't a question, it was a statement. That was the only explanation for his attack having been re-routed in such a way. "That's an interesting ability. I'll have to be real careful about what I use against you, now; a bit of fire in the wrong place and this entire forest could be set aflame."

Even as he announced his caution, his mind still raced. He couldn't get over the fact that his opponent had made a wormhole in the middle of a forest without sacrificing ridiculous amounts of stamina. If Hera had been able to do that, he would have most certainly been on the ground writhing in agony. The amount of energy necessary to perform such a feat was impossibly high; it usually took a massive planetary explosion to fuel the process.

So either this kid has more energy than an entire planet, or there's something REALLY fucked up going on here, Hera thought ruefully. With a flick of his tail blade, Hera deflected the sword swipe in full and jumped back. "So tell me," Hera inquired, circling his foe and trying not to wince as his side began to bruise, "How can a mere human like you possess the ridiculous amount of energy necessary to create a portal? All the life on this planet - mine included - wouldn't be able to summon up enough energy to create a wormhole, especially so quickly. You've intrigued me."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

* - as anybody who has read Hera's bio or my brief introduction to the Allsie's biology will know, the brain of an Allsie is a layer within his body. It's too complex to describe here, so just look it up in my bio thread :P

Alumar sighed mentally as his blade was blocked, he did not really expect to make contact but he had hoped.
If nothing else he had really jumbled up the creature’s senses, though it snapped back to reality faster than Alumar could take advantage of it.
Alumar looked nowhere specifically as he answered his opponent’s first question. “You can call it that, yes”
A grin grew as Hera stated his logical caution. “Yes, we would not want that now, do we.” He stated as he thought that his opponent were rather quick of thought, it had been a mere 4 -5 seconds since the portal flashed its usage, as he had already gotten the information that Alumar could mane matter reappear elsewhere, and his own deduction must have suggested that Alumar could do this with magical energies as well.

A movement by the tail blade of the creature pushed Alumar back and they both ended up a few meters apart, his opponent started to circle the area, not wanting to be flanked Alumar started to do the same.
Alumar nodded as if he were praised. “Thing is that it does not draw as much energy as you would think, if a human teenager knew the information and were able to manipulate their energies as I do, even they would be able to summon the energies needed without taking any damage” Alumar smiled. ”Initially as I learned the art it took considerably more energy in creating the portals, and I could only make one last for a brief time. But I learned ways to cut down the energy needed, and rise its effectiveness to levels you still do not know” he grinned
“Though, I won’t’ tell you more just yet, perhaps if you win I can reveal the secrets” he grinned as he stopped circling. “Perhaps even teach you.” He stated as he turned to face Hera.

“This time I go first” he smiled at his opponent, somewhat eager since he had never fought against anyone of this level before.
Alumar darted towards Hera, whereas he was far from as fast as he was when hasted, he still had a fairly usable speed. He could no long underestimate his opponent as he had understood a vital part of the portal creation and how it works, although Alumar still had the upper hand due to the portals, his opponent still had a superior skill with the blade, not to mention the magic she could still wield.

As Alumar got a meter or so from Hera, he swung down, though he did not have the reach to hit Hera, this was not his intention either.
Suddenly, between Hera and Alumar, a large black-purple hole stood, having a deep look almost as if indefinably large, yet nonexistent in mass. Alumar’s blade entered the hole in a swing, and the blade exited the linked portal behind Hera’s back. The running forward towards him were but a feint, to make him focus on Alumar’s attack rather than considering what he could do with the portals.
If the creature did not realize this fast enough, he might take a slash to the back. If he chose to attack the portal himself, he would attack out the other side of the same portal as Alumar were attacking**.

------------------------------------------------
**: Consider each portal a coin, where tails and heads are like normally. If Alumar makes something enter the heads side of Portal A, it will exit of the heads side of Portal B.
As such, if Hera is to attack the portal, he would be attacking the Tails side of it, and therefore his sword/attack would extend at the tails side of Portal B (the one behind him).
Alumar knows this, and when he creates the portals they are created the ‘right way’ every time based on what he plans.

Hera grinned and whipped his tail backwards, moving to the side as he did. The sound of metal scraping against bone could be heard as the sword clashed with Hera's tail blade. A quick twist of Hera's tail and the blade was yanked out of the wormhole that had appeared behind him, ripping the sword from Alumar's grasp*.

In the same motion, Hera completed the sidestep and jumped out from between the portals, the hooked blade trailing from the tail; the hook of the tail blade had sank right into the handle. As he slowed and continued his original circling, Hera's grin disappeared and was replaced by an appraising look. "Not bad," he said. "I'm not going to waste my time trying to understand how you make the wormholes; regardless of how you do them, it's obvious you can. What seems highly unlikely, though, is that you can do them for extended periods of time, and I doubt you can make excessive amounts of portals too rapidly.

"There are other limitations, as well; what goes in must come out, regardless of where. So if I use a skill that encompasses my own radius, it essentially makes your portals irrelevant; whatever you use to counter-attack will end up going through both portals.

"So that leaves me with two options: use an attack that encompasses everything - and I can, you know - or use an ability that attacks you from multiple fronts. First, however..."

Hera paused, unsure of exactly which route to take. "You present me with a dilemma. Right now I'm just over half as strong as I can be, with relatively low reflexes to compare. I can likely beat you now, as I am, but it will take almost all the energy my body has to spare. My other option is to go to my last transformation, which will mean I can get this over with faster (my abilities are enhanced far more than they are now), but there's also the chance that you might not survive. The transformation is also relatively new to me, and difficult to control.

"The choice of what happens is yours. Either you fight me now, as I am, possibly one level higher; or you fight me barring nothing. I will fight in my final form, all out, with no reservations and strength and speed far beyond what you see now. So decide; I don't care which course we take. I'm excited beyond anything I've ever been before."**

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

* - Fox and I discussed this beforehand, and he gave me express permission to disarm him at this point, as well as several other god-mods throughout this post. We has the chat logs :awesome:

** - So yeah, here I'm presenting Fox with a choice. I've never actually had to resort to the Draco-Angelic (Mystic) Allsie form before, so this is a first for me. But Alumar gets to choose; the Mystic Allsie form is REALLY nasty D=

His blade was yanked out of his hands, suggesting that the fuzzy one were smart enough to foresee something like this. Though as he sidestepped out of the portal’s range Alumar still had his calm posture.

Alumar smiled. “Thanks for the vote confidence, but I’d prefer you not go higher, at least not yet. You are still the more skilled of is in the arts of non magical combat, and as I stated this form is a test if anything. So if you could I’d like you to stay in your current form” he smiled as he made a “gentleman’s bow”.

“You are right on many points, but not all of them. Yes, everything that enters have to go out, but it is not like the portals are storage compartments” he stated as he put his hand though the still open portal slowly, as his hand entered it also exited the other portal almost as if ‘cut’ at the exact point where it came in contact with the closest portal.
He retracted his hand as he continued. “They are sill a part of our world; as such they must follow the laws. However, every law can be bent” he grinned as the portal that was to Alumar’s side disappeared in the blink of an eye, showing that he could at least hold them for that long.
“If you would like to use an attack that strikes multiple sides at the same time, or one that extends from your body or whatever, feel free to”.
He did not offer this ‘deal’ as something taken lightly, in his words there were a sense of arrogance, though it was only stating facts that had been proven earlier; He is not arrogant he just knows his limits.
“Oh, before we go on, how about handing me back my sword?” he grinned, almost if they were friends sparring. A portal opened in a horizontal faction in front of Hera roughly at his waist height, at the same time a portal opened at Alumar’s right hand side also in a horizontal manor but at his head height. “We already know you best me in close combat, so we might at least even the odds a little?”

Where this might seem naïve or simple stupid, Alumar offered this chance more as a test of Hera’s intentions rather than to sound treating or anything else. As well as the fact that he would like to be able to block should the need arise. Alumar, as he had stated earlier, he did not intend to kill his ball of fur, he knew that in an all out fight his opponent might even win without too much problems. All it depended on was which form Alumar were in, and how high of a ‘level’ his opponent took on.

Hera canted an eyebrow. "Laws cannot be bent, if only for the fact that they're laws, and breaking a law results in a grievous cost. Perhaps you can use other laws to your advantage in order to skirt the law in your way, but you cannot disfigure a law, lest it loses its identity as a law." Hera took a quick measurement of his power.

That's one thing I hate about these forms, he groused. They increase my energy degeneration. So either I'll have to revert to my original form and get back the energy I started with, or I'll have to transform again, regardless of what he wants. Hera thought it best here to be honest. He took the sword that was caught in his tail and handed it back through the portal grip-first. As he did so, he said, "You may not like it, but before long I will have to transform or revert to my original form. There are certain limitations on my transformations, and in order to escape them I have to go even farther or go back. It's like a law; I can't maintain a form without sacrificing something to do so."

When he slid the blade all the way through - suppressing a shudder as his tail went through the portal and appeared in the other one - he jerked his tail back and took his own blade out again. "Chances are, I'll end up transforming; I'm having too much fun to just let this match die out, and I won't stand a chance in my original form. Not against your current form, anyways." It was definitely part true - while Hera could keep up with his opponent quite easily in his original form, his energy capacity would decrease, and subsequently so would his stamina. His reflexes would also decrease, due to a drop in energy in his fur sensors, and he would have difficulty reacting to attacks shot through a portal.

Sidestepping around the portal before him - and thereby leaving no opening for Alumar to reach through and try to gut him with the blade - Hera called Alumar out. "Your turn this time, mage; give me your best shot. But try," Hera added hastily, "to keep this forest intact."

Alumar smiled, it seemed he was not alone in the feeling of a ‘sparring between friends’ effect. Or at least that was the feeling that he got when they were explaining their own limitations and halfway weaknesses.
Alumar simply grabbed the handle of his sword that came though the portal, not trying to attack or seem aggressive at all; he would never betray a trust like this, at least not without a reason.

As the Furry one went around the portal, no doubt just to be certain, Alumar closed the link between them forcing both to close.
“Limitations, eh” he smiled as he looked at Hera while the explanation was being said.
Moving himself so that he was still in a diagonal spot away from his opponent, counting the room as more or less circular.

Where his opponent had limitations to his transformations, Alumar had a few as well, though in this case it was the loss of every spell he could cast.
Alumar toyed with the idea of casting a Casus at him, but came to the conclusion that while he might win, he would take out much of the forest and most likely not survive with his current energy reserves anyway.
He could not say he liked the idea of it transforming again, as its energy seemed to rise every time it did. And as its strength followed it would mean that it would become stronger, faster and generally a more pain in the ass. Off course this was not hard facts, just Alumar’s speculation by using the previous transformations as examples.

“Fear not-“ Alumar answered to the request not to take out the forest. “-The skills I have in this form are surprisingly non-damaging in itself” he smiled as he widened his stance a little.
Alumar pondered for a few seconds, he had no chance up close in Melee, where he was better than in his Wizard form, he still had no chance. He needed to use his portals in his advantage, but he should try not to copy already used moves.

Well, this form was not too good to use when fighting a skilled warrior like this, or well it is but it works better when Alumar is not the one that attacks. Had he found that out already? Or was it just his way of trying to get the most information out of Alumar before it attacked?

Though, Alumar did have a few ideas, toying with the information that the creature managed to find out a minute ago, he did not have all the right facts.
Running towards the creature, Alumar did not do anything until he was close, but as he got close he did the same thing he did in his last attack. He opened a portal between them and one behind, though this time as the portal hid the two from each other Alumar did not attack through it but instead sidestepped while appearing that he was going to attack Hera without the portals.
However, as he sidestepped, he entered a new portal that he just created, disappearing from sight.
Hopefully this would confuse his opponent enough to allow Alumar to hit an indirect frontal attack by attacking into the portal that was behind Hera.

---------------
OOC: Just for easier understanding.
Alumar opened 2 portals, one in front and one behind like last time, let’s call them “A1” and “A2” where 1 is in front of you.
As he did this, he sidestepped A1 in a feint to attack you, but he then entered portal B1, appearing out of B2 near A2.
Attacking A2 he made his attack “hit” you out of A1.
This attack is a feint, within a feint that will hopefully take Hera slightly off guard.
