Do you actually lol when you type lol?

Very rarely, if ever, do I actually laugh out loud when I type Lol, and I rarely type Lol anyways, so it isn't much of a factor. But I have maybe used it a little bit more since I've tried harder to be more fun. :monster:

But still, they are kind of meaningless if I'm not actually laughing when I type I am doing so, basically. xD I do like to type "xD" though. :P

Is there some chatspeak type thing for if you think something is mildly funny, but never opened your mouth as in laughing over it? >.>

Well I'm not The Laughing Policeman or anything, but you guys do make me chuckle.

When I lol I at least smile and sometimes a chuckle. There's many times where I laugh out loud for real, but I don't think I consciously type those kind of lols any differently from the casual lol.

The thing is I try and keep the whole "HA HA HA! :woot:" thing kept inside as I'd feel like a plonker laughing my head off at a computer, as if anyone heard they wouldn't get the context or anything and I'd feel like an idiot.

So in my head I'm often laughing a fair bit, and often have the urge to, but I avoid doing this in real life as much as I can. I was never a loud laugher anyway as I always felt ashamed laughing in public at things. But I've not heard what my natural laugh is like from the viewpoint of anyone else, which occassionally comes out when I'm excited or with about three or four of my real life friends (aka, the entire cast of what remains of my real life friends :ness:).

I don't tend to use rofl and lmao or ROFLMAO or ROFLCOPTER much unless everyone else is and it becomes almost a sort of game to invent a new kind of rofl.

I'm not sure though actually. I've not observed my own behaviour like this. I know I use lol a fair bit, but I can't say when it's real laughter, or just an entertained Argor who is finding it funny and smiling. I can't remember if I type anything other than lol... In fact I think most of the time on here I type "lol :D" or something like that. While my face doesn't look anything like that smiley, that tends to show that I'm at least happy and (while I don't have the best smile in the world) I'm smiling about the whole thing for a bit.

So yeah, I want to laugh out loud, but I try to avoid it so that I can avoid the embarassment. However I'm almost always entertained by people and the lols are at least genuine in the sense that I found what was said funny, or bizzare, or crazy.

i use lol for everything same with lmao and rofl. lol

im not even smiling when i say it xD

when i laugh i just say haha/HAHA Caps on when its extreme lol

x]. Peace

I type lol when Im not larking. Lol has crept into my real life and its great! But I most time I just use lol for shits and giggles XD Lol.

I rarely type lol, I don't like it much 8F I do use rofl and lmao, rofl more because it's an emote code on MSN... I abuse it a bit. You'll know I'm really laughing when I go
"rofl
rofl
rofl
rofl"
And it's just a column of the emote 8F Or "Omg can't breathe... 8F"

When I do say it, I'm usually making fun of someone or being a bitch... not actually laughing. When I really am laughing, you'll know. "omg.. rofl" is another thing. Lmao is also one I use a bit, but not as much as rofl. More than lol though, there's just something about it that bugs me when I type it...

I rarely used "lol" or "rofl" or any of those acronyms. I just use XD. Most of the time, I'm not really laughing, but if the post itself is good (and amusing), I use it. It just became an instinct for me to use it when I don't know what else to say.

I don't really laugh when i type lol, when its lmao or rofl i'm laughing really hard. I don't laugh as much as i used to, i should but hey least i'm not laughing at all haha.

i say lol, Rofl, Lmao when i'm not doing any of the them most of the time i didn't even crack a smile.
though at the same time when i do laugh i do say lol so people never know if im laughing or not
i normally laugh when somthing has produced Lulz(for example: someone failing at some)thing

We, very rarely, are actually laughing when we type "LOL". Sure, most of the time when we type "LOL" we can see that something is funny, but we rarely laugh. Now, in cases where we make a dirty pun, or someone else makes a dirty pun, we'll start laughing in RL. However, when it comes to small things, we rarely laugh.

I only type "lol" when i'm really laughing or when i'm nervous or something. I feel like i'd be lying if I type "lol" at everything. Bah, i'm not making sense right now. o_O

I normally type "haha" or something along those lines when something actually makes me laugh, the only thing I don't really type when something's funny is "lol", it might be amusing but it doesn't physically make me laugh. It's normally something I do just for politeness and to help the conversation move on a bit so that it doesn't look like I'm just ignoring someone :wacky:

Whenever I use "lol", I never tend to laugh at all. I may momentarily grin or chuckle only slightly, but not to an extent that you can hear me laughing. I tend to use "lol" as a euphemism or a politeness strategy - though I hardly use it. I'm not a fan of text-speak so I usually avoid associating myself with it.

More occasionally I may use "rofl" (I never use "lmao" or "roflmao" because I find them rather unnecessary). I tend to use that when I actually find something amusing - something that actually has me laughing out loud or smiling for about a minute or so.

On the forums, I tend to use xD or :lew:.

No xD

Half the time it's because I can't think of anything better to say if it's just used as a one word answer :8F:

If it's at the end of a sentence, it generally means I'm just a amused and Ive raised a smile. If Ive really laughed my head off Im likely to just say that i have, or il just be like Omg...HAHAHAHAHA or summat xD

Tbf though, I do laugh alot anyway. Lewis can vouch for this as he spent the whole weekend laughing at me laughing :lew:

I hardly ever type lol. If something makes me smile, I just go :monster:... but if something really makes me laugh, I'll do a little xDDD and mention that I actually loled irl. :wacky:

Sometimes I'll say LOL, haha, or XD if I've giggled aloud at something, or smirked at it in amusement, and every once in a while I'll have really done it; but most of the time if I've really split a gut laughing I'll give a , an :yay:, or describe how f***ing funny I think something is in words, sometimes with an "OMG" or something similar. Or, if I think something is moderately to very funny and I want someone to know, I'll say that "I lol'd," and in those situations I always have ^^

Oh, and then there are always the :tehe:s for those moments when something gross or unseemly really should not be funny, but it is :D

no I don't, not really at least :P

When I'm IM'ing my friends, and they type something they think is funny, I just go "lol" to make them feel better. Or whenever I have nothing else to say. Or just to make it seem like my sentence isn't so serious. :O Just a flat "lol".

But if actually does make me laugh I type it in caps. LOL! :D that's with an exclamation and a smiley haha. People can tell when I mean it and when I don't, but whatever, I don't really care :dave:

Sometimes. If something is funny I'll type lol and will actually be laughing. other times I just type it for filler. Like if someone says something awkward and I don't know how to respond I'll type lol. Or if I'm not really paying attention and the person is trying to be funny I'll type it.

If I think that something is funny I usually type lol. I also type it when I'm making a comment about something in a funny or sarcastic way. However, when I think that something is very funny and I laugh about it I type rofl instead or use a smiley.

No.
I only type "lol" when I type "loljk". And when I type "loljk", I don't... "lol" IRL.
If I find something funny, I resort to typing "HAHAHAHAHAHA OMG/OMG HAHAHAHAHA/ahahahaha" instead. I also type "Haha", but that's usually used as a filler.

/me revives another old thread

I hardly ever write lol and when I do I am not laughing. I find the word lol to be rather insulting everyone knows people only use it because they have nothing else to say so when someone uses it with me I start to feel a little :damon: about talking to them because I know I am boring them.

When I am laughing/cracking a smile I will write haha... and the more I am laughing the more extreme the HAHA's will get. Sometimes I will write lmfao, that's usually a smile... kind of the opposite to what it actually means :wacky:
