Do You Play FFXI?

Played for 5 years, don't regret a single second of it.
Played on Midgard and joined the most amazing LS, not by strength or numbers but by friendly, social people who accept people for who they are not what they are. Our motto was; "You can do everything, you don't have to do anything"

Loved FFXI for the simple fact that as of today FFXI is the only MMORPG that provided me with a sense of accomplishment. Something i miss in every other MMORPG.
Nothing comes easy or fast in FFXI (at least when i played at the start) so when you did finally completed that mission or got that special item which you spend nights with friends trying to get it felt simply great, felt like you actually accomplished something.

And yes i have patience :) I completed the Lu Shang quest by catching all 10000 fish myself without "cheating" or help from others. I Also leveled fishing to level 98 under the old system without the use of bots or anything like that.

That is one point i hate SE for up to this day. With the new fishing system it become a game of reflexes and your actual fishing level and your knowledge of the craft means nothing. Every fishing newbie who never held a fishing rod in their hands before was reeling in the high level fish including some legendary simply because they had the money to buy a Lu Shang and the reflexes to reel them in. :mad:
 
I've played it just once on the PS 2 [which my old bf used to have] but didn't got to the end of it..lol xD shame on me.. we were always fighting over it.Anyways..the graphics were cool,the characters just as I saw in the pics..even better,Imao xD
the fighting style not to bad..tho' at some point I got stuck with Ted[or Tidus] and his sword magic skills..or whatever and I got angry ..grr :rage:

In any case,i would really want to finish it someday :D
 
I've been playing FFXI since 16th December 2006 (Don't know if that's a good thing that I remember the exact date I started lol), first on Midgardsormr and now on Quetzecotl.

Took a friend of mine a few years to get me into it, but it wasn't til I got my Xbox 360 and then I entered Vana'diel. I've played a few MMO's, but FFXI drew me into more than the others. I guess because I've enjoyed the FF series as a whole (With some exceptions), and even now I still enjoy it and play whenever I can.
 
Spent 5 years of my life playing this game, regret spending too much time on it, but definetely not the experiences I made over it. I almost married a chick I met over this game in real life, it was a genuine real relationship that turned sour, we just outgrew each other like normal couples can do, it left a bitter taste in my mouth about the game. But the game itself is great, time consuming as hell, but I loved it. 6 Level 75s later, running a endgame group and killing everything possible up to that point I could later, I quit.
 
I have played this before but unfortunately i only got to level 20 and my sub job. I didn't like the fact that i needed to be escorted by stronger ppl to a far off place just to earn the right to ride a chocobo either o_O

BTW.. Final fantasy XI's 10 anniversary is this year and square enix is holding some kind of event June 23 and June 24 somewhere in Tokyo for it.
