Do you save Shadow or let him die?

I didn't realize what I had to do to save him so I didn't save him the first time round. Then I read somewhere how to save him, so I restarted from my save point, I didn't really end up using him too much though.

Well Shadow is one of my favorite characters, and I think saving him is worth it merely because of the story element (much like the reason I let cid croak it, it just feels more in place for shadow to live than meeting relm in the cave)

only a few characters I feel have no real place in the story and wouldnt mind letting die off and shadow isnt one of them :P

Shadow is too awesome to die on me. He is one of the must useful characters in the game so of course I am going to wait for him right before the world is going to collapse on me.

I let Shadow die. I didn't think he was coming and I got tired of waiting. Kinda sucks actually... he sacrificing himself to get me out of a pinch... and then I just screw him over minutes later. Oh well, he really should've hurried up.

I saved him, although I probably wouldn't know that I could if it weren't for GameFAQs and such. I rarely experiment with games when I think I'll lose doing so.

Shadow is one of my favourite characters. Not as good as Terra, of course.

Yep I saved Shadow only just to use him. He is actually pretty good but the others were quite better for example Terra was just cute and an awesome character.

Shadow

On Kefka's floating continent, did anyone let Shadow die? On my first playthrough i forgot to get him and he ended up dying. But on my second playthrough i remember.ed

I only played FFVI once, and I didn't let him die. :P I waited for him on the edge of the Floating Continent 'till he showed up. He was one of my favorites and I used him a lot in my party, so I made sure I could use him in the WoR too.

if i didnt look at a walkthrough from gamefaqs,i would have lost shadow.

Shadow is good in WoB:ed:,but in WoR he seems a bit crappy:highfive:

I saved him, but I can't say the same for Cid:wtf:. Guess I didn't realize slow swimming fish would dictate his morose fate.

I didn't know i had to save him... i was just trying to get off that damn continent.. then later when i went to go equip stuff i didn't see him... i started thinking about it, and i remember him standing there, but i past him by.. then is was just like SON OF A BITCH! Shadow did quite a load of damage.

Shadow

So I must save Shadow?Darn! i don't know it i think we must Left him and Run away because Time is Running!...So i let him die...but i overwrite my Save Game...so that the reason why i can't Find Shadow on WoR..now what should i do?if Shadow did'nt Join Party, can i still go for Kefka???If i could...can i could tell me how it is?

Sadly if you left him behind, and didn't wait until the last few seconds of the timer, then he is dead forever. You left him on the Floating Continent, and now he is burning! :O

It doesn't ruin your game though. Many people don't save Shadow as they don't realise that you can. It just means you can never get him back again when you enter the World of Ruin, which means you can't ever view his dreams and find out who he is, and why and how he became a kick-ass ninja.

But you don't need the full party to go after Kefka. I think it is possible to complete the game with only 6 party members. Though this is strongly not advised, as your party splits into 3 for the final dungeon, so you need as many as you can really. It is ideal to have the whole 12, but the loss of Shadow is just one person, and might not affect you that much.

It still sucks, but thats just the sad way with that part of the game.

Another thign you'll miss out on though is that the ending requires all party members to be obtained in order to get the full ending. Not to give anything away but it dedicates a bit of ending time to each character. If the character is missing, then it just shows a blank or blurry screen (I believe) during the part it is meant to be showing that character. So that will be what you will see for Shadow, so you won't see that characters conclusion.

Hard luck that you saved over your file etc, but its quite common. Lots of people don't realise that you have to save Shadow, so don't feel worried that you have messed it up.

Shadow deserves to die because he was a spy for the empire. If it wasn’t him, Kefka and Gestahl wouldn’t reach the Triad and subsequently destroy the world. Even if you save him, he shows no remorse. He said “I cannot rest in peace until I have collected my payment” after jumping onto the Blackjack. Death is his fair wage.

When I recently played through for the first time in years I left him to die simply because it had been years since I played so I jumped on the airship without thinking it over. I do agree with the above poster though he did deserve to die, as long as interceptor is alive im happy.
