I still like some of the older games, but my interest level is at an all time low for the series. It all really started with FF10 for me. I came into it with high hopes because up until that point the only real flop imo was FF8. When I borrowed 10 from a friend it wasn't anything that I was expecting at all. It just didn't really feel like a Final Fantasy title to me. A few years later and 12 came out. I know i'm in the minority with this game, but I really enjoyed it. Not as much as the PSX days, but for that gaming generation I liked it..Then came Final Fantasy 13..I had seen some of the screen shots for the game and thought it was beautiful. At the same time it had me worried. I know that a large portion of gamers these days only care about graphics, frames per second etc. I was worried that the story would have to suffer because of all of the work put into making the game look "pretty". My worries came true once I popped the game in. I ignored most of the bad fan submitted reviews because at the time it was fairly trendy to hate Final Fantasy (it still is I imagine). I played a few hours of 13 and it just felt lifeless to me. I kept playing and playing and playing just out of hope. Then the ending shows up on my screen and rage ensued afterwards. I've played my fair share of horrible games in my 27 years on Earth, but this took the cake.

Because of 13 I'm very skeptical about the future releases for the franchise. If the next game in the series is an abomination then I think I may be done with them and just stick to the older titles.
 
Sorry but wtf kind question is this sorry i want to say that in jokingly way and with the joke on the side i will say it and i gladly say it i love all final fantasy yep that means I'm a final fantasy fanatic or you can say I'm a huge fan your choice how you wish to say i am whatever you wish to call it and i gladly say it again i love all final fantasy and even though i love final fantasy 7 the most and i still love all final fantasy no matter what and no matter what anyone tells me i love it and forever till the ends of times :)
 
I started Final Fantasy with the very first Final Fantasy. Naturally, that game holds a special place in my heart. A lot of the FFs will always be dear to me, and some of the newer ones are also very good...but I find my interest in FF waning as of late. I find they overemphasis flashy graphics and silly looking characters at the expense of just good storywriting. And while I will always be a devoted FF fan, it no longer holds the candle to my heart that it once did.
 
I am. I only started with XII, and it's funny because when I got XIII I initially hated it. Everything I liked about XII was just plain absent in XIII. But after playing through it I guess if kind of grew on me, and now I'm really enjoying it. Finished it twice and now I'm doing some post-game grinding, maybe go for the platinum. And I've got XIII-2 waiting on the shelf. And if they come out with a XIII-3 or XV or whatever, I'll buy that too.
 
I'm singing the same tune as most of the people before me, whilst I would be lying to say I DON'T like it any more, it is certainly true that some of the new stuff they have been producing in the series doesn't live up to what came before.

I'm more than happy to go back and play VII/VIII/IX/X again, yet I have not once looked at XIII and thought the same thing.

Saying this, there is a good chance I will still buy whatever comes next, in the hope that S-E have sorted themselves out :D
 
I still like all (Except XIII series and XI) FFs and thats the problem, i used to LOVE FF but after playing other rpg games i came into realization that there are better games than the FF series but because for lack of brand recognition those games doesnt see the light, and now the only atracctive of FF (turn based battle for me) has been ripped off so i dont care for the series anymore.

I will not say what games are superior to FF because thats up to different people but now after playing a lot of RPGs i cant safely say that the FF series are overrated.
 
Ff was great back in the day. I also have seen better Rpgs recently. I belueve x was the last amazing ff game theyc made. Their spin offs are seemingly better than the main series.
 
I don't like the more sci-fi style games, I was always into the series for the "fantasy" part. So the newer ones, as well as ones like VII, are unappealing to me. But in general, yes, I do still love FF.
 
to be fair older final fantasy games were sci fi themed aswell or at least had sci fi features such as final fantasy 4 and 6. i also dont like it however when they donnt holdthose iconic ff features or warp them to the point you dont recognize it as an ff game like 13
 
I dont understand everybodies hatred towards 12 and 13 and some people 10, i like them all for what they are, different gameplay and stories
 
I kinda like si-fi better, i mean all the best games (except IX) were sifi

VI, VII, VIII,X,X-2,XII,XIII,XIII-2, and the agni's philosophy demo, i hope that becomes XV
 
I still like the games, mainly the earlier ones, but I'm not into Final Fantasy as much as I used to be. In fact, I hardly even think about the series. I was disappointed with the last two games and I'm not looking forward to any future FF titles. Though I'll probably still end up playing them.

My husband started playing FF IX recently and watching him play has made me very nostalgic. But when he is finished, I probably won't pick up IX and start playing.
 
Final Fantasy 2- 10 Yes. I still like and enjoy those games and I replay them whenever I possibly can, enjoy the music and the characters of each of the stories and each of the games.

10-2- 13-2 and FF 1
