Do you take care of your hair?

My hair isn't my top priority :hmmm:

I take pretty good care of it. Shower and shampoo daily. Nothing big, I don't stand in the shower and wash my hair crazily and stuff. I use a simple 2-in-1 Suave shampoo, then I brush it and let it dry and them I'm outta the house. :dave: It's never bad looking, that's for sure.

I think it's very important to wash your hair daily since unwashed hair is a breeding ground for bacteria, which would be gross. D: I wash my hair everyday. Do I take care of it though? Er, no. :wacky:

I just can't be bothered applying cremes, oils or any of those. Once in a while, I would use a deep conditioning hot oil product (those you apply after rinsing out shampoo and just leaving it for 20 minutes or so). Other than that, it's always just been good ol' regular shampoo. I like the organic ones though. I buy and use those when I can.

Reading back, I realize I've been really lucky that my hair works for me at all. :rage:

I would say I take pretty good care of it. I do miss the occasional shower especially if I'm stuck at work all day. Otherwise if I've missed a shower I throw a hat on so no one can see what my hair looks like.

Besides that I spend about a half hour on my hair including washing and drying. If I feel like doing my hair a specific way I spend a little more than an hour. During summer I usually put it up in a ponytail to keep my back from sweating.

The only thing I do thats very unhealthy for my hair is I dye it a lot. So far I haven't noticed changes with my hair (except for the color) and I hope that none of it falls out

Religiously! If I were to put money on the one thing people from school would remember me for, it was my hair/hairstyles.

I shampoo every morning before work and leave it to dry naturally before applying whatever styling product I have (I'll pad it with a towel to stop it dripping everywhere). Because I always put product in my hair I never need to condition, though even if I didn't it's pretty slick regardless of what I use on it.

It's been a trend to take care of my hair for nigh 10 years now. When I was around 15 it would get greasy by the next day, so I guess that was the main reason for keeping on top of it. I'd always feel gross if I hadn't washed it that morning too, like I was hot and sweaty or something.

If I wasn't aware of it before, I would be now.. You raging 'mo.

I'm probably one of the few girls in the world who doesn't really girl a fuck about my hair. I used to wash it every day, but now I'm into it at every other day because of my work schedule..

I shower at night because I hate showering in the morning.. dunno why but I hate it. >.< So in the morning I just brush my hair, fluff it up a bit and that's it. No product, no science, I'm plain jane boring with my hair.

Definitely.
If there is one girly thing about me, it's the fact that I'm very finicky and particular about my hair. (It's probably because my hair's really short and needs constant care)
I wash it everyday and shampoo it 1-2 times a day. I blow-dry it every other day before I leave for school, so as not to "kill" my hair or whatnot.
But I don't do the weird "shampoo your hair with raw eggs" sort of thing.

I do not enjoy leaving the house without washing my hair. It needs to be washed once a day, if I wash it less than that it gets really greasy and if i wash it more than that it gets very dry.

I'm very particular about what hair products I use which is annoying beacuse it gets expensive :damon:

Are you really anal about it like me and would dread the thought of going out and having someone see your icky hair?

Or do you just not really care that much?

Give detail as to how you take care of your hair so that this doesn't get chucked in spam please. =P

I'm more anal about it. I absolutely can't stand the feeling of oily hair and I certainly dread the thought of going out and having someone see it! I tend to wash it every 36 hours as after that it starts to gets icky radpily. :wacky: I use shampoo and conditioner every time. I don't style it very often though, and I let it dry naturally about 50% of the time. I've always been told that my hair is in excellent condition and I worry that using GHDs on it daily would cause lots of split ends. I can go for 6 months without a haircut and only have a few here and there. :) I tend to have a haircut more often...but during Uni, I couldn't always afford it!

If I'm exercising during the day and going to work in the evening, I may extend the time in between washing my hair to 48 hours. I'm not sure washing my hair twice in a day (within 6 hours) would be good for it :sad3: and I like to wash it after exercising. I feel absolutely horrible, though. :lew:

The amount of trouble I have with my hair on an almost daily basis is crazy.... jk. But seriously, I can never have great hair. I'm not quite sure where I go wrong in terms of looking after it, it's exhausting. I tend to wash my hair every few days, mainly the day before I go to work and then that'll kinda last until my 3rd day at work, or if not, just before. The amount of shampoos that I've also used over the last few years is quite bad. Not in terms that there's not a lot of variety in there, there is. Herbal Essences was one I thought would work, but it doesn't leave the desired effect it states it would, even with conditioning. I could spend ages talking about my hair and the stuff I've used...

No matter what I seem to use though, it always ends up looking dry, and because it's naturally curly, I get split ends really easily. I don't think there's been one moment where I've actually had lovely, glossy hair ... at all. Not only that but my hair seems to be thinning on my crown, and no one seems to really know or care about it.

I shampoo and condition my hair everyday and that is why hair is fabulous, it easily the best hair in the whole world. I always use product in my hair, I have at the moment a choice of 8 different types of product so that I can change my hair from day to day. Then I mess it up and it looks very good. The only problem is that if it's a bit windy I can end up with a bit of a centre parting so I have to change it a bit.

Yes. I wash it every other day, and my body every day. It's hard to manage, since it's so long and curly, but I still manage to get it looking at least decent. :)

Yeahhhh I'm kind of persnickety about my hair too :lew:

Unfortunately, I lost quite a bit of it as a side effect from one of the medications I was on last fall after getting out of the hospital :sad3: Thankfully, I had a lot of it to begin with, so now while I don't have as much of it as I used to, I still get by :lew: I've been taking 5,000mcg or 5mg of Biotin (a vitamin supplement that assists in protein metabolism) that's supposed to make your hair and nails grow faster, stronger, and healthier and I can see what I lost is coming back pretty quick now.

I get my haircuts about twice a year since I don't have fringe (bangs) anymore and I leave my hair long. I get my hair highlighted about twice a year too. It's not good for it I know but I can't imagine myself not being a blonde so :wacky:

I wash my hair about every other day, as it takes a good bit of time to do (usually about 35 minutes or so total to blow dry and flat iron it or use my large barrel curling iron so I can get some big waves). I only use salon brand shampoo's and conditioners...like Nexxus Humectress, Kenra moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, and a few others...but the Back to Basics apple and ginzing has to be my absolute favorite because of the way it smells and how soft it makes my hair.

I never really use any product in my hair. Sometimes if I'm bored or going out I'll use a bit of this silkening shine spray that makes my hair REALLY shiny and smells like caramel...but more often than not I don't.

Well, I still wash and condition (sometimes just condition) my hair every day. I used to care alot more when I had more hair (Curse you genetics), but I still do either way.

Plus it just FEELS better to do so. My hair, like others have mentioned before either gets slightly greasy or just doesnt feel clean if I dont do so.

I go to the hair salon because I'm a
spoiled rich kid
and I get my hair washed by a bunch of Dominican women. They rotate constantly, they're like this efficient working bee hive = one person yells at you to get your hair washed, then they wash it, someone else sets your hair, someone else takes out your rollers and then styles your hair to your specifications. Really it depends on what you want. Typically I get my hair washed, deep conditioned (which means it gets shampooed and rinsed like three times in one sitting), set with rollers, blown out at the roots (known as a Dominican blowout because it came from the Dominican Republic obviously), and then it's either wrapped (known as a "doobie") with pins which I usually bring or left out if I'm feeling like amazing people with my luscious locks.

I go for a perm every month. I'm very diligent about my hair because it's sensitive due to it being overly processed over the years; I got my first perm when I was around 15. Never looked back to getting my hair natural since. When my hair was natural I got it washed every day and broke combs on a nearly daily basis. *coughs* Aaaanyway, I usually use Motions on my hair as a perm since it's milder on my scalp, I use a special expensive ass conditioner and shampoo set that I can *only* get at either my salon or a specialty store that sells ish for natural black people hair. Yeeeeah, I used to use Tresemme but that shit doesn't work on my hair because I have thick long hair, I need good, strong shit. Tresemme for my hair was like the equivalent of a weak ass kid trying to punch a huge bully in the gut. Got me no where, so I switched to this more expensive natural stuff that helps keep away dandruff and moisturizes my hair. My hair dries out easily soooo ... what else? Um usually I curl it with a small barreled Conair curling iron and I rarely ever straighten it because too much heat also causes my hair to break and I have to wrap it every night so it doesn't lose its bounciness. And no one touches my hair otherwise I'll break your fingers. Only downside to perming is how fragile my gorgeous hair has become, otherwise I love my hair. :mokken:

Haha no! But I'm getting better with it. I dye, straighten and do all sorts with my bob length (ish) hair, so it's not in the best condition it could be. I now only use non-permanent dyes on it though, which is helping. The ends seriously need a cut though... but my hair used to be so short (I had to cut it off because it was so damaged, seriously you should of seen it :( ) I'm kind of scared of getting it cut now. Going in to get it done in the next two weeks though.

Yes, I do.

Well, I wash it and ensure that it's clean and I brush it in the mornings when I feel like it. My hair is naturally straight, so I never have to do anything extra to it, and I do love how my hair looks. So I try my best to ensure that my hair is in peak condition. As of now it's touching my mid back as it's long and straight. So when it comes down to it, I always make sure my hair is well taken care of and I get loads of complements for it. Apparently, lots of ladies love my hair. Go figure.

My hair is fairly easy to maintain. With all of the styles and things I had done to it nearly all of my life, I almost have to identify it as my 'real hair', since it's been braided, twisted, permed, name it, I've had it done. I make sure it's combed through so there's no tangles and wash it every other day (since washing it every single day can actually be unhealthy for my type of hair).

Now I have extensions in it, so its length is all the way to my waistline. It's the hair I've always wanted, yet it is sometimes absolute hell to keep up with. It tangles easily, so I have to brush and comb through them several times a day, but washing them and using detangler actually helps out. :griin:

Yes i shower everyday twice a day and shampoo my hair both times, i only condition my hair every other day to keep it soft. I had to ask a hair stylist how often to use conditioner and i've been using it every other day ever since i learned about it.

I shower every day, and use shower gel of sorts.

I don't have any fancy stuff for me hair, but it isn't the sort of hair that needs fancy stuff.

My hair is relatively short. It's a bit like a black fluffy chicken at times (or in a fuzzy way, though soft not sharp - I'm not feathered), but the globby lemon flavoured milk sort of thing isn't going to change that. I think my hair is a bit soft anyway.

I tend to have haircuts when appropriate / the time has dawned. Other than that, I don't do much for my hair. My communication with my hair isn't very good so I don't know if he's happy with me or not. If it starts to drop out then I'll have to change my habits.
