Yo, I just got Crisis Core for my B-Day and I'm playin' it until the Aerith scene and say to myself, "Hey, that sumbitch fell through the roof and offered to take Aerith out for a date!" Does that make sense? Why did Square have to replicate that exact scene. It's like watching Cloud as a brunette.

The main question here is "Are you sickened by this?" Answer furiously if you must!

Well... Final Fantasy VII is five years after Crisis Core, and at the time, Cloud was emulating Zack's personality. So really, it's the original scene, and not a replication.

Though... technically, I'm incorrect.:neomon:

Not at all, really. Though, Aerith saying hooray spooked the shit out of me. :wacky:

I did thought that was kinda odd at first, but there really was nothing wrong with it. If anything, it actually made the scene more memorable and yet heart-wrenching to know that Cloud wasn't the first one to fall onto Aerith's bed of flowers. :wacky:

No really, it was a very cool scene nonetheless.

I thought this was one of the most emotionally beautiful scenes in the game...

Yup, that's what I think too, :)

you know at first i was kinda like...wtf the same scene from ff7 when cloud fell. but then i realized you were in a mako reactor just like cloud was when he fell and kinda realized the symbolism behind it when i beat the game and found out cloud was living out zacks life. kinda sad really, cus cloud does the same thing, and ends up falling for aeris just like zack but ends up like zack...shit outta luck

Well SE was obviously going for a nostalgic approach with that scene. They were merely making a reference to the original (kinda like the opening scene with the train).

So I really wasn't bothered by that scene at all.

i loved that scene ^_^ it's kinda where it all began. i wonder what went through aerith's mind when cloud landed on her flowers? ITS RAINING SPIKY HAIRED MEN AGAIN!!!

the scene that bothered me was when she asked to make a flower wagon. "so a flower wagon lets make one...so a flower wagon lets do it" aaghh, dammit i get the point!!!!

I did like it, although it seemed abit of a cheap way to introduce Zack to Aerith really..... They were practically a couple from then on it just seemed abit weird, like they didn't have enough imagination to think up a new way of them meeting.....although it does kinda tie in nice for future events of FFVII I suppose.....

>> actually if you are paying attention to FF7 you would notice that Cloud runs into Aerith before that scene where he falls through the roof of her church ie you can buy a flower from her for a mere 1 gil. Just pointing that out to you since every one failed to mention that little bit of information. As for falling down well they both fell down but the cause was a bit different. Zack did not want to fight Angeal an thus was hit with an attack and the floor collapsed. I think for Cloud they were fighting some sort of monster an then the floor blew up an he was dangling there for dear life before falling down to the church below. >> damn these soldiers can fall a huge distance, crash through a building and land on their backs and yet some how they survive....and yet Zack could not survive being shot. *shrugs*

Um, I'm very positive that everyone who's played the game knows that little bit of information. We did not mention it here since it wasn't really needed and not really the point of the whole discussion. =P

That's because Zack was already weakened (first from the mako infused in him for five years, although he handled himself better than Cloud and was still quite strong,
and second he had fought hundreds of soldiers all at once towards the end of the game, and all the while his strength was already weakening as demonstrated by the DMV mode system malfunctioning.
)

Man can only take so much ass-kicking before biting the dust.

As much as it was a cool little way to make reference to the original game it does seem abit cheap. Similar way could've worked but the EXACT same way is abit lame.

Thing is, Zack makes a hole in the roof and nobody in the slums are going to bother fixing it. So Cloud falls down, falls straight through the already exsisting hole and somehow survives that great hight with only a flower bed to break his fall. Thats hardcore.

Alright, I'm taking it back. "Sickening" is a bit strong. I guess it was a spur of the moment.

If I could give a second thought, I'd say it's reminiscent of FF7. It was a beautiful scene and I guess I was caught up with Square using the same idea twice.

not really =) i think its actually kinda cool haha its like they were thinking the exact same thing

Consider this my furious answer.

Squeenix is about profit, not quality. They are going to keep milking that cash-cow until they get blood instead of milk. When they do, they’ll slap a Disney character or Gackt on it and sell that too.

Final Fantasy VII worked– why put the resources into doing something innovative when you can ride the coatails of something else’s success?

I wonder if, in her mind... She celebrated like in the song?

'IT'S RAININ' MEN! HALLELUJAH, IT'S RAININ' MEN! AMEN!'
